I got my laundry finished. And vacuumed. I feel as though I did something.

Did they come visit junie?

We went to the church today and did a few things because tomorrow we're having our 70th anniversary. Then we went to Gigi's Cupcakes and I've eaten 2 cupcakes and now I've got a headache. Sugar.

Ginger said the boys talked all the way to Alabama and just about drove her crazy but they were good at the game and went to sleep as soon as they got back to the hotel. They woke up about 7:45 AM, ate breakfast, and went to another game. One of the players dads and his 12 year old brother came in an RV and Colt and his friend hung out in the RV playing video games for a while so Ginger got to watch some of the game. She said this evening when they left the ballpark they were both asleep before they went 5 miles.

I hope that your Anniversary celebration goes well tomorrow, Sheri.

That is good news about Ginger's trip. It is nice to hear it went well.

Yes they did come & visit, Sheri. We had a nice visit. My Brother (their Dad), my Sister & I have really lucked out when it comes to our children. They all have at least 4 yr. college educations, are nice & well behaved kids, all got an education, know that one has to work hard to get anywhere in life, and are respectful to us. (their "elders") We are all very fortunate to say the least.

Good morning. I also tried to adjust my sleep times a bit. I still don't know how it worked. California has a bill in the works to stop the daylight saving times bit. I really don't have an opinion on it. But I am more regulated by the sun than the clock myself.
Today I change the bedding and get ready for the week of school. Small things that make me happy and grateful.
I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Good morning.

I had taken baby home and kept GG here, the other grandmother picked him up for a bit then brought him home because she wasn't feeling well. Today baby and mom woke up with a stomach bug...who picks up a child for a visit when they feel under the weather? I'll probably just wait and drive GG to school in the morning. A 30 minute drive with the time change will make for a cranky child in the a.m. rolz

I hope you are all adjusting to the time change.

I have been watching the news...it is scary to see all the flooding in the South. I pray you are all spared.

Oh no Sunny. I hope they don't have the norovirus that's going around here. It's killer and literally everyone I know has had it. I hate to think a baby is going to hurt that bad.

Tina, I wish we all would do away with the time change. It's crazy.

junie, that's great about your children. You parents did a good job.

Hi all,

Hope the babies don't get the virus either... it's going around here too.. the woman who is training Carrie for the bookkeeper job at her store.., her busband had went to a nursing home to visit a friend and then the next day they quarantined it.. he got it and shared it with her and she has to be out of work for 2 weeks with it at least.. Carrie has had to work every day since... she finally gets a day off on Tues.. she is more than exhausted...

We went to the Denver Dumb Friends League today and adopted a little boy dog... he is so cute and well behaved... been wanting dog for a while but couldn't find one we both liked... Milo is his name and he is really a calm dog..3 yrs old .. rat terrier and jack russel , so far he is house trained.. and very mellow.

Well I am washing his blanket and then making some dinner for us.....hope the weather isn't to bad for anyone... we are to get rain tomorrow maybe even a snow shower... we need it but I dread it too...

Nana

Good evening. All the labors of the day are done. Including dinner and dishes. Now to stay awake until bedtime. Those clean sheets on the beds are mighty inviting.
We are all clean and ready for school tomorrow. This is the last week until April 4th. A two week vacation is sounding good to me.

Good luck with your new dog Nana. What is Denver Dumb Friends?

The norovirus around here has been awful. People are just passing it back and forth. It's so contagious.

10:25 pm 3-13-16 Hello:

Today the time change really threw me for a loop. I got up at 8 am & after church, visiting my MIL, & lunch I took a 3 hr. nap.

Sunny: OH MY that is such bad news about the kids. I would like to think the other grandmother didn't know she was sick.
I will say my MIL kept my oldest once when she was sick, when Val was a baby. I didn't know she was sick when I left the baby there, but I have to wonder why she too just didn't call me & tell me. Thankfully for me it was just a cold she had but really....
I wonder if you should not keep the GG until MOM & the baby are well...

Nana: A new "puppy" (I call them all puppies) How wonderful !!!

Sheri: Thanks for the wishes. How did your day go???

Tina: Fresh sheets--How I love them. I did that on Friday night. I somehow or other the fitted sheet got torn in 2 places. AS they are very expensive sheets, I intend to mend the tear so I can keep them a bit longer. (I found them "new" at Good Will)

My niece had a flu but not NOT norovirus I think. Her grandparents had to watch her so her Mommy put her parents on Tamiflu (she is a nurse practitioner) so they would not get whatever strain it was. The dad had no sick days left to take at work & where the mom works (at a Drs.office) they were short handed b/c of sickness so she could not stay home.

I have to keep myself well as we hope to go see my DD for Easter week.

I want to stay away from all viruses. The norovirus can stay far away.
Have fun with your Milo, Nana. He looks so sweet.
I have counted down the minutes until bedtime. I'm going to say good night and sweet dreams all.

And I am up in the night. First my phone rang randomly. Then I had to let the dog out. And then the rains began. So I've been up about an hour and am headed back to bed for a couple.

Morning,

Well I am up early, going to go be a teacher in a little while... little Milo was happy to get up with me.. he is at my side all the time... guess he is my dog for sure...

We don't get our spring break for another week.. having a hard time remembering it's still winter, robins are here and my tulips are trying to come up.. we may get more snow yet, hope my tulips survive it this year... spring storm killed them off last year.

Well off to get ready to go, get hubby up too...
Have a good day !

Nana

Good morning. I hope you have a great day, Nana.
I am up also. It's pouring out there and I am not going anywhere. My roads are jammed and I'm not going to fight it if it's not necessary. So I can relax today.

I think I'll bake a pie for pi day. A chicken potpie.

Good morning again !

Nana enjoy Milo and your day.

I hate rain, Tina. I am glad that you are getting to stay in. I have never made a chicken pot pie--is it hard to do ?

I think I will do some baking this morning. I bought heavy cream to make something or other--I need to remember what that was before it goes bad. why

Good afternoon.

Congrats on the new addition, Nana.

Well, it was just a 24 hr bug and GG has gone home...she didn't want to go to school though.

I think you wanted to make me a pudding pie Junie grin

Tina, I love pot pie...I use my left over homemade chicken veg soup, I thicken the broth like gravy and pour it in a pie shell.

I ended up not making a potpie yet. I have sweet potatoes baked and those and sausages will be on my menu.
I make my potpies with mostly stew type fillings in a crust. They are always good but not always pretty.

Good Evening.

Rod bought a Garmin for the car. I do so hope that he gets it figured out. It will not be pretty if he does not.

WE registered it tonight & it is currently charging.

junie, is that a GPS? My GPS came with my car. It's voice activated. I get a notification once a year that it's time to update my GPS, they're running a sale, and every year I call the 800 to do just that and they tell me that I'm wrong, that my model car did not come with a voice activated GPS so it can't be updated with this particular update. They tell me I will have to buy a CD and update it myself. The CD they have is actually cheaper than updating the voice activated but it won't work on my car because it is most definitely voice activated. They do not believe me.

Yes a GPS. It was cheaper than usual as most everyone has a smart phone or subscribes to it on their car now a days.

Truth be told I could have called and subscribed to On Star for a month or 6 months or whatever it would take & then my car would have it too. BUT to get him to agree to that was questionable and besides this thing has a lane advice option...and a few othwer options I do not know if the car would have had.

IF I were you I would drive the car back to the dealer, have the guy that told you that to come out to your car SHOW him what your car does do--then SHOW HIM IN THE BOOK..and THEN ask him about the upgrade...Some people.... rolz

I can't believe I didn't come back in last night.
I am up in the middle of the night with the dog for a third time. I will go back to bed for the approximately two hours I have left before my alarm. But I needed to sit up and take something for my aches before doing that.
Sweet dreams all.

Sorry you were up so early, Tina. I am glad though that you have time to go back to sleep. I hope you feel better when you awake the next time.

I am up so that once again I can go get the oil changed in the truck. Then I get to take my Mom back to the Drs. again today.
She & I are going to have a talk.
I am sure there are Drs. appts. for non-emergency calls on days other than a Tuesday.
I am more than happy to help her and if she were sick & needed to see the DR. that would be ok too, but this is just a routine call.

I am off to have my coffee now. I wish everyone a good day.

Good morning for real this time. I have my coffee in hand. I will probably nap this afternoon.
I hope you can get your Tuesdays cleared up for ceramics, Carol. You are a very good daughter.
We are showing clear weather for the next week. I hope to get a lot done.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning, it is snowing out once again. I want spring.

I haven't been feeling the best the past few days...I feel headachy and so warm, almost feverish. I hope it passes soon.

Hoping you all have a good day ahead.

Sunny--oh my I do so hope you are NOT getting sick..gracious me.

Tina, I learned to stay up VERY late when our Dog got older. Then when Rod got up early for work he would take him out. I hope you both get some good sleep in.

I just finished washing, drying & hanging back up my cloth shower curtain/liner and plastic shower curtain. I even dried the plastic liner in the dryer.... thumbup Now THAT is done for awhile.

I am figuring out the VA Grandsons Easter gifts.....then I guess I too will go to bed.

Junie, the update doesn't come from the dealership. It comes from Honda somewhere. I've talked to the guys at the dealership, when I took my car in for an oil change, and they couldn't help me. They said the dealerships used to update the GPS's but stopped several years ago and said "those people are just stupid."

Sunny, I feel for you. It's was 80° today. But in the end you might be better off in August than we are. I imagine it's going to be extremely warm here.

Well I have been up all night with Gastro....I knew something was brewing.

Worse part is that my grandson has an appt with a specialist that I can't cancel...I am praying the meds kick in and I am able to drive them in about 5 hours. I'll just stay in the car and keep away from everyone...good thing is that I have medical masks here and will cover and sanitize myself steadily.

I'd ask someone else to take them but we had freezing rain and fog once again through the night...and everyone else is scared to drive...even though by then it will be gone.

Now enough of my complaining...I hope the GPS works out well, I have never used one.

Dealerships are at a loss now once you buy and walk away...I had an incident with mine last week over an oil change. I will not go back, as long as my oil changes are done at a licensed garage they cannot void any warranty.

Good morning.
Oh my, I hope you get well quickly, Sunny.
I think I was only up once in the night. What a lovely sleep. I need one of those once in awhile.
I'm not sure yet what I am going to make of this day but something will get done.
I hope everyone has a lovely one.

Good Moring. Coffee in hand here. thumbup

OH MY Sunny. I was afraid you were getting sick. hope it passes quickly, and that it is a mild case. Why is it that thigns such as sickness and Drs. appt. seem to collide?

Tina: YAY.....So happy to hear that you had a good night's sleep. That is wonderful.

Today I am off to try to finish the last of my Easter shopping and to possibly/hopefully buy carol some new spring clothes. (well not a lot, but.......

I wish everyone a great day !

Ah, sitting is good for a minute. I went shopping after I took Teddy to school. Came home and put it away. I packaged up his peanut butter and graham crackers for his lunches and browned 5 pounds of burger for the dog. I may use some in a meal of some type for us but it is done for whatever. I also have chicken cooking in the crock that will fill a dual mode for us and the dog. I would say he's spoiled if he weren't painfully all ribs and bones.
Have fun shopping for your goodies, Carol.

Wonder if Sunny felt better and was able to drive. That virus is a killer.

Junie, did you find you something to wear? I hate shopping anymore. I need long pants for work and all I can find are capris.

Speaking of work, why do the powers that be always end up taking a good job and making it no good. Why does someone always want to change things, make things worse to the point that no one wants to come to work anymore? Control freaks!

First: No, I did not find ANY clothes. IF I get the time, I may go shopping for JUST ME on Monday !!
here's hoping.

I don't know about the job situation.
As I see it,- it could be that:
1) TPTB are unhappy so they figure everyone else should be.
2) If "they" do not change things then "they" are not doing their jobs.
3) OR it could just be about money. The changing things could just be about "cutting the budget" plain & simple.

but at the end of the day, I do not really know the answer. sorry kissie

I am going to bed soon..g'nite wavy

Good morning. I fell out last night and just went to sleep without saying good night or anything.
I am up early and likely to stay up now.
I am anticipating a little trouble getting in and out of my home because there is a concert in the park this weekend. It begins tonight with camping and the music is Fri-Sat. What is stressing me out the most is the big , temporary fences they are putting up. Miles and miles of them. And traffic barricades.
I want to make sure that I can get my kid to and from school without lengthy delays. And why the massive fencing? Is that to keep people out? Or in? It gave me nightmares.
I will buy what I need to hole up for the weekend today. Just in case I need to stay in tomorrow.
I hope you can find the clothes you need soon, Carol. And have a pleasant shopping experience doing it.

Hi all...Sunny needs to hide and rest but it won't happen. I made it to the appointments, one led to another and we were 4 hours at a clinic then a hospital. Between the Gravol, Gaviscon and Immodium...I made it through.

Today I feel like I am hungover...it is supposed to storm in a bit so I will hide for the day. We have more snow now than we did all Winter.

I hope you all have a great day ahead. thumbup

Any traditions for St. Patty's Day?

I am not doing St. Patrick's day except to wear green. Teddy's school is not celebrating it either because they are having special Olympics. When that is over tomorrow, they will go home for the two week spring break. A busy time of year for them.

I got my food in. Lots of meal options, some snack-y stuff and some desserts. Drinks and things too. It better be enough.
I am shopping for our vacation also. Since I don't have to take Teddy to school, I don't want to make a lot of trips in general. Off to cook something while the cooking is good.

Sounds like a great plan Tina...it must be terrible to have to deal with and worry about all the added people in the area due to these concerts.

I am finally cooking the beef stew that Nana had me craving for the other day.

I also made up a big batch of homemade laundry detergent..I hope it works out. It is starting to thicken up and gel already. It calls for 1 cup grated Ivory bar soap, 1 cup Washing Soda and 1 cup Borax. You melt the Ivory into boiling water, add the Soda then Borax...mix well then pour into a 3 gallon pail with hot water. Mix and let set for 24 hrs. Stir, bottle then pour 1/2 cup or so per load.

Yeah, pretty much the same recipe I use, only no water. I use it as powder and use a tablespoon per load. No problems with it not dissolving. I've used it for about three years. No rashes or skin problems at all. I love it.
I am home for the day. I've decided not to attempt school tomorrow. Just too much hassle. And even if I could make it in and out, my house would be vulnerable to idle people without anything to do until the concert begins.
So Teddy is out of school until April 4th.

Sunny glad you're on the mend.

Tina do you know who the bands are at the concert?

Junie I think you're right. My work group is small and we do our job and work well together. I think the higher ups think if things are good there's got to be a way to make them even better which ends up ruining everything. Reminds me of why I left there in the first place.

Have you ever seen a picture of yourself and realize you really need a new bra?? :)

Sheri, I don't have a bra.
The bands playing are listed here: https://www.insomniac.com/media/bey...day-and-single-day-tickets-available-now
I haven't heard of any of them.

Gee, Sheri, I am sorry. I hope that things go back to normal soon.

Sunny, I hope that you are back to normal soon.

Tina, I think it was a good choice to begin spring break a day early. I think I would do the same thing if it were me.

I am going to pay some bills & then go to sleep.

Nighty-night everyone.

Good morning.

Sheri, I seen a picture of myself...and realized I should have a girdle to go with the new bra haha

Tina, my soap mixture is thicker than gelatin....I'm not sure if it supposed to be like that but I'll give it a stir and try a load in a few. Enjoy your days off with Teddy.

Since Junie never paid my bills, I guess I need to get out and do that sometime today...and pick up GG for the weekend.

Good morning. I have one bill to pay, my property taxes. I guess I'll get that done today. And put it in the mail. Then that will be a load off my mind for a few months.
And then I'll concentrate on cleaning up around here. I want to take a load or two to the dumpster.

Good evening. I got lots of laundry done today. It feels good to have all the bath mats and such done. I am beginning to change into lighter bedding too. So the blankets are getting washed and packaged for summer storage. I guess that's part of spring cleaning. But I'm not doing that so much. Just doing stuff to keep our little family comfy.

Tina I don't recognize those bands either. Oh well. Maybe I need to get out more. Naw not gonna happen.

I have been trying to clean out stuff a little at a time since last year. Why do I have so much stuff?

Guess I'm going to have to break down and buy new bras. I hate spending money on new bras but I need to wear one to work and church.

Let's just all stop paying our bills and see what happens.

1) I just bought 2 new ones this last week. I am not happy with either, but as you say, there are places one must wear them.
Problem is Penney's stopped making the ones I wore for decades.

2) I would LOVE to stop paying my bills.. such a lot of money wasted to my notion... teach

I need to be going to sleep, nighty night everyone.

Good morning. Although I think I'll try to catch another hour or so. It's too early to be up.
I think I will keep paying my bills though. I like light and cooling or heat when I need it. And I am always grateful that I have these things. And glad I can pay them.
Today I will get a little more done around here. It is an ongoing process.
I hope everyone has a good day.

I agree with Tina too because I've wanted to say no but said yes and ended up being resentful. My own fault. Should have just said no.

Went to a funeral today then dropped some stuff off at the church then out to eat.

Did I tell you guys about Colby hurting his ankle then 2 days later hurting the other ankle. Now he has a boot on one foot and a brace on the other. AND now he's sick as a dog with a fever, vomiting, and a headache. Poor guy.

Good morning and Happy spring.

Poor Colby, I hope he is better soon.

GG woke this morning with a sore throat and a runny nose...I'll just keep her here for a day or two, we are getting a bad storm tonight and tomorrow anyway. Those good old Nor'Easter storms just tend to keep hitting us.

I used to never say 'No' to anyone...this week I have said it three times, I am proud of myself. I said no to taking my grand-niece, no to painting my SIL's bathroom and no to taking my nephew to town(he should have went when I did). thumbup

Good morning. I slept pretty good. And woke a little stuffy. But hopefully that will clear soon.
I'm glad you are learning that, Sunny. And sorry that your GG is not doing so well.
Today is washing bedding and things. The campers will go home and I'll feel free to go in and out again. Not so claustrophobic. But I have no intention of going anywhere. Just nice to know I can.

And I am done for the day. I gathered up a lot of trash to take to the dumpster. And separated a lot of things to go to the needy, both food and clothes. That is what Teddy and I will be doing this week. I am looking forward to having the stuff gone.

So far today we went to church, visited with my MIL, & went out to eat.

Then we went to the grocery & came home. I picked out the clothes I will wear to see my DD and some of what Rod will take.
I also cleaned out my closet & got rid of several purses, shirts & shoes. Then I put out my Easter ceramics & doilies.

It the struck me---just who am I doing this for..no one but me will see them.......

Supper is over & I am back to washing clothes....

As I was telling Rod. I really hate to start to work, but once I DO start, I hate to stop.

Off to do the last of the book work now--TTY all L

If they make you happy then only you seeing them is good enough, Carol. And they will be there for the future when you may have a house full of grands.
I did get a mess of stuff removed from my house today. I still need to move things to the dumpster but it is all neatly bagged and ready to go. It is all good.

Good morning.

My storm is holding off, it will only start this afternoon...snow is snow but the wind warnings are scary.

It feels good to purge unwanted items and help those in need at the same time...I'm sure you will be helping many, Tina. kissie

Junie, I hope you are all prepared for your trip.

Today my plan is to do my baking this morning then run a mop over my floors this afternoon. That Kinetic sand makes the floors into a slip'and'slide game.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Free days are wonderful.

I have bread and buns in the oven.

I am trying to figure out where and how spiders are getting in my bathroom. I ran out of caulking filling every crack I can find where the washer and dryer is. I am thinking of making a quick trip to the local store for another tube. Any tips for me for organic spider-repellent?

Mint. Spiders hate it and avoid. Any mint you put down will need to be refreshed on occasion but it's better than nothing and doesn't leave a foul smell. Any mint from fresh leaves to extracts and flavorings. Even creme de mint (booze).

Thanks so much Tina, I had Mint Extract here...I use it in brownies now and then. I dabbed some on cotton balls and sat it in the laundry area. I hope it helps. The roads were too bad to go to the store for more caulking so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

My floors are mopped and I guess I'll have to do the sink of dishes in a few minutes. DH was only home for 15 minutes to grab his supper...the storm is keeping them out plowing for the evening.

I am glad your DH got a good meal before facing the storms. I hope the mint helps. It is really only a repellent so it won't kill them off. But any port in the storm. I would plant mint all around my house but the trees around my house make that a moot thing.
Speaking of spiders, my daughter found a tarantula in the house last month. It was dead, (hunted by her cat?) but in all my life I've never seen or heard of one coming indoors. I see them outside often in spring or fall when they are migrating. I move them out of the roadways often then.

Oh no. don't be afraid of tarantulas. My mother had home movies of us with them crawling up our arms and across our faces. They are the one "cuddly" eight-legged things. And slow enough to keep out of their way. And in a life time of living with them, this was the first one ever indoors. We only kept them for a day and let them go hunting again. Their favorite food, other spiders. They are welcomed.
I have avoided the mail for three days. It's about time I checked mine.

Good morning.

The world is crazy every day Tina...I hope you do get more rest today.

Have fun at ceramics Junie.

I have the tractor plugged in, hoping it will start. It is too cold and windy to clear the snow with the hand snow blower....I'm tired already and the day hasn't even really started yet.

Well, the tractor would not start...so I had to use the hand blower. It took me over two hours to clean the driveway. The winds are getting worse out there, I am glad to be inside.

I am sitting with a cup of tea and a chocolate macaroon...so life is good lol

Tomorrow I have to babysit for 12 hours..wish me luck.

Is it your GG you're babysitting for tomorrow? Or someone else or multiple someones?
I never went out today so I must go tomorrow. I don't wanna. I'm a regular vegetable.

Yes, I too want to know just who you are watching tomorrow.

BUT I will have to wait to know.

In the VERY EARLY morning, We are going out East to see my DD & my 2 Grandsons.
I am hoping for a boring uneventful trip out & back. WE will be home late the 29th.

I DO think my time visiting will be good---

Emily has already asked me if I would cook for them while I was out there...LOL...of course I said yes.....

See you when I get back.

G'nite for now.....

Safe travels, Carol. I am glad you will get some time with your grands. I hope you are not buried in the kitchen the whole vacation. Give those sweet boys lots of hugs.

IF I am buried a lot in the kitchen, that will be ok--it will give Emily a break and it will let her see what mothers do for their children. (so I will be helping out the boy's future wives..LOL)
and you can be sure that I WILL be giving the boys lots of hugs & kisses...

See you all soon

Morning.

Woke up to a blizzard... at least 8inches out there and still coming down, windy too and really cold...about 12 with the windchill.... not going outside today except to take the dog out, speaking of being from Texas he does not think snow is very good at all . especially when it's almost as deep as he is tall... went out and shoveled him a patch to go in and he just looked at me like I was crazy.. couldn't take him out back cause deck door had about a foot and a half blown up against it..

I am going to spend day making a stew and baking cookies... will help keep house warm... and make my grandsons happy too... hoping we don't lose power... that would stop those plans... would be forced to watch movies on my ipad or something...

Junie hope you have a wonderful visit with the grands... even cooking for them all will be fun.... I do that for Carrie at least once a week when I am over there.. start dinners for them... love crock pots...

Well I am off to get something started cooking... have a good day all!

Nana

There are only -4 days, 2 hours, and 22 minutes until spring begins!
Shouldn't we be on a summer tracker now?
I miss Carol already. I hope she finds a way to check in.

Good morning. Happy Thursday.
I mostly am putting the day so I can remember what day it is. I tend to get lost when we are on vacation. That is sad.
I tackled a little weeding yesterday but I have to find someone strong to hire for the bulk of my weedeating any more.
Today I will catch up on some laundry. It seems to be a good day for it. And maybe cook something if I can think of something that appeals to me. Nothing does yet.

I have the little guy here with me today...we are watching The Avenger's and I am getting a lesson on who is who and what they do lol

It is my DH's birthday today as well, cake and gift is bought and my mother is picking up my daughter and the grands(I'll just bring daughter and G-son home tonight)...we are getting another big storm through the night. It's the end of March and I am still shoveling out windows. touched

Have a good day.

Thanks.

I made a pasta salad and coleslaw this morning. I just pulled the baked wings out of the oven and put the rice in....sweet and sour sauce is simmering on the stove. It's a mixture of foods for a fussy bunch lol

How is Teddy enjoying his time off?

Teddy is happy at home. He is also happy to go to school. He is happy to go out shopping with me. He's a pretty happy guy. As long as it fits within his parameters. Like as long as he can wear his comfy clothes an errands don't last too long. I'm a very lucky mamma.
It has been a busy day. I am going to say good night. Sweet dreams all.

Colby was sick Saturday so Shelley took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with the flu. She got Tamiflu. He felt pretty bad on Sunday but took a shower and had a breathing treatment at 8:00 PM and went to bed at 10. At midnight Shelley went to give him a dose of Tamiflu and he was unresponsive. He was airlifted from Monroe to Levine Children Hospital in Charlotte and is on a ventilator. It's horrible.

I was so hoping you would get a long growing season, Sunny. I hope it warms up soon.
Good morning. I don't have any true plans for today. I am going to work on whatever projects appeal to me at the time. Or none. Or nap a lot. I had a difficult time sleeping last night.

I hope you get your rest today Tina.

My growing season is never a long one but thanks for thinking of me.

I am looking online for a free pattern for a boy's christening romper...the prices at the stores are ridiculous. I can make one for less than $10 with the cost of fabric. I found a few pics that are cute...just a basic white romper with blue stitching. We need to get my grandson baptized next month.

Sounds cute, Sunny. A nice outfit for a kid that is up and walking.
I did rest a little. I hate to waste time like that. I didn't get nearly as much done today as I would have liked. Still got to pop my kid in a bath though.

Popping in to see if Sherri posted about her grandson...I hope we get good news soon.

I am tired of fighting today's storm....the rest of the snow can wait until tomorrow to be dealt with.

Rest well tonight Tina.

Oh my Sheri, prayers for Colby and your whole family...flu is horrible ... do hope to hear he is on the mend soon...

We spent our week getting taxes done.. paid.. and sent off.. owed one.. getting back from other.. but it is done..
boys came over for a little while today.. mostly to eat I think...they are getting so big.. This morning we took Milo to the vet
for his free check up. he is fine.. needs to brush his teeth if we can get him to let us do it.. and next week we need a booster shot,
I really like this vet. . you can see he really cares for animals.

We are getting more snow here too Sunny.. after the foot and a half we just cleaned up from...they say it won't be a lot but they said that last
time too...Milo is getting used to it though...

Well I am going to go fix a small supper.. I didn't sleep well last night so will be hitting my pillows early I hope..

Have a good evening all

Nana

I miss Carol a lot. I hope she is having a wonderful time with her grands.
Sweet dreams all. I managed to cook dinner and clean up after. And I popped Teddy in the bath and myself in the shower. So the day hasn't been a total waste. Now I am going to bed.

Good morning, the sun is supposed to shine today.

Nana, I think the older we get....the more we dread the weather. I have to go out in a bit and check how much is on my roof.

Tina, I bet Carol is running non stop with the two boys and she'll have stories to tell when she gets back...I can't wait either.

I keep thinking about Colby....I have a cousin named Brandie, when she was little she was sick such as that, it turned out to be meningitis and not the flu after all.

Good morning. Yes, I've prayed for Colby too.
Today I'm taking Teddy out for a little fun. Things like driving through the car wash fun. And I want to pick up a couple of items. So we'll have an outing for fun.

Good morning. I fell into bed without posting last night. I must have been tired.
I'm not sure what I am going to do today. I will shop for a few things when the stores open. I need some of Teddy's bananas and such.
We are going to get windy today and maybe some rain. The rain would be welcomed.
I hope everyone has a great Monday.
I am looking forward to having Carol back with us tomorrow.

Good morning....we lost power last night due to a car accident cutting off a hydro pole. I know nothing other than the basics but it is good to have power back finally.

We are getting another snow storm tonight...hoping to get some house things completed.

I am of mixed feelings for your snow. It means employment for your family, but, well snow.
I've spent a good part of the morning unclogging a bathroom sink. So I also cleaned out my others in case they were thinking of following in their leader's footsteps.
Nearly ready to head out.

We're supposed to have our first 70+ degree weather for the year, a little earlier than normal out this way. Scary to hear that you guys are still having snow! (but then again, we don't usually get the cold stuff on the valley floor here in Oregon).

Though, we've been having heavy wind over the last month, and parts of the neighbors tree have been falling out at random (which is bad because in front of her house is the only above ground power lines in the neighborhood.

I saw the Dr last week, and he wants me to go Gluten Free on top of no sugar to try to get my Diabetes under control; life shall be miserable without Pizza and doey breads...

No good news. He was extubated yesterday around 1 but re-intubated last night around 11. No change today. The new diagnosis is ARDS. It's like a bad dream.

Is Juniegirl with the new babies?

No, Carol is with her daughter with the two boys.
I looked out my glass door today and thought it was snowing. But it is just some tiny white petals from some large shrubs blowing in the wind. It was lovely.

Good morning. I'm up, in spite of myself.
It is another cold, drizzly morning. I will bake some chicken today and whatever else sounds good. It helps warm it up indoors. And gives me dinners for a couple of days.
I am not sure what else I will accomplish today but it will be something. I hope everyone has a great day.

Good afternoon.

I am so sorry Sherri, I will continue prayers...it is not to often that I hear of ARDS in children(we call it Shock lung here).

Grem, there are a lot of gluten free recipes for pizza online, a few people use Pinterest to get their recipes and catalog them...I hope it helps manage your diabetes.

Tina, enjoy your fake snow grin

We are having the worst snow storm that we have had in years....I can't even describe how bad it is out there but I will take some pics to share. I have been out 3 hours cleaning snow and have not even made a dent into it. I am just in to dry my snowsuit in the dryer than back out I go.

Yeah, I've been looking up various gluten free resturaunts; since having all of these "fun weird people" in Portland (the motto is "Keep Portland Weird") we have all sorts of Gluten Free places. And I hear Subway has a gluten free bread and at both Dominos and Papa Murphy's have Gluten Free crusts, so it'll be easier to do this now than what it would have been a few years ago. The problem is going to be that the gluten makes bread chewy, so without it everything is kind of dense and lackluster, lol.

I'm Baaack !!!! wavy We got in at noon, but I had errands to run & then supper to make....but hey, here I am !!!!

I had a wonderful time !!! Emily made WAY too much food, and it was wonderful !!! The boys were SO much fun !!!!

I was supposed to fry breakfast Pork chops, & make a dinner around it on Saturday night---well, they went to a grocery where butchers cut all the meat fresh---and they simply cut 1-inch chops in half length-wise...so Carol fried 1/2 inch chops--but hey, Emily did not have to do it.

Then Easter evening I fried thin-sliced green tomatoes for my SIL, to go with the left-overs from Easter Lunch....Emily ate a lot of the Tomatoes too. shewinks

yes, "Gram" & Grandpa had a great time !!! Luke & I "played Trains and we made "Fancy Parking lots" with construction building blocks ( you make a 3-sided "lot" and park big construction toys in it) Then you take a green block with a grid on it, & that is "Gram's computer" & an Orange one and that is "Luke's computer" & you use them !!! it was wonderful...I taught Micah to play Paddy-cake & he, who is not talking a lot, did say paddy cake & clap for me.....

I missed you guys too !!! and no, NO internet for me the whole time... tears

James--really Gluten free?? I am so very sorry....If you need I can get info for you. Both my Mom & brother eat Gluten free.

Sheri : I am SO sorry to hear about Colby !!!! I do so hope it is not ARDS. Isn't that what Cindy had back in the day ??

Please keep us posted, OK ?? Prayers for Colby, Shelley & the whole family.

Welcome home, Carol. I am glad you had a good time. You were missed.
James, you didn't need you teeth bouncing off your bread anyway. Seriously, I would missed my carbs desperately.
Yes, ARDS is what Cindy had and it is not good. I have been praying for Colby too. Hard.

Good morning. I went out with my coffee and watched the sunrise. It was cold but nice. And as it is overcast the sun really never came out. But it's supposed to warm up te next few days. That will be nice for dog washing. Today is vacuuming.

Good Morning a bit late. It is good to be back !

I got the $$$ I owed the postman out in the mail today just as he was coming up to give us our mail.

Then I began to put away clothes & such from our trip. I still have laundry to do from that though.

I decided that I would stop in for a bit before I continued with that. shewinks

I really need to run a few errands but it is thundering & raining off & on so I think I will stay here for now.

Has anyone heard from Sheri ???

Hi all.

No news from Sheri yet...prayers are continued.

Errands are finished and it seems there was no mistake made on my land tax..it has indeed gone up over $300 this year. I was not impressed. I can't imagine what people with nice homes have received for bills.

OH MY--so sorry for the land tax increase. I pray every years that our property taxes do not increase--when they do I protest them. sad thing is I no longer have a friend in the reality business around here to help me do it. Since IL is so far in debt I am expecting ours to raise also. rolz If ever were wrong this would be the year. I need to go out & get bottled water for Rod's lunch. I do so wish the storming, even as mild as it is, would stop so I could do that. tapfoot

I am glad my property taxes can't go up. At least until I die. We stopped the state from raising them to squander. Of course they've found revenue in other areas like gas. We pay more than any other state, I think.
I got some things done around here today. Some recycling out and stuff. It feels good.

I've never eaten green tomatoes, or fried tomatoes, did I mention that I don't really like tomatoes? lol.

I'm glad to hear that you had a good time, we've all missed you around here!

This gluten free thing is going to kill me... Where I'm noticing more energy and less bloat, I generally eat bread with every meal, sandwiches, pancakes, waffles, etc. I've found that Bisquick has a gluten free formula, as do some other brands (a lot of cereal brands are gluten free), I just need to work some things out that aren't going to cost me anymore in food (we already get down to next to nothing by the end of the month, so having to spend more cash on what we already buy is a huge strain).

I found this bread alternative, but unfortunately it's the Gluten that makes your bread nice and soft and chewy; so it's dense, super dense... and the taste just isn't right at all, lol.

I haven't used bottled water in some time, except for in our emergency kits. We filter everything, and have a filter in the fridge, a britta, and a Zero Filter; ends up a little cheaper in the long run (just use a lot of refillable bottles).

Colby does have ARDS, is still on a vent, on a paralytic, sedatives, antibiotics, and tube feedings. Things haven't changed yet.

James, there a phone app that you can swipe over a bar code that will tell you if something is gluten free. A friend visiting Shelley yesterday was talking about it because her child has to eat gluten free.

I will add Colby to my prayers, Sheri. Please keep us updated.

James. there are premade breads that are not so bad. Or so my mom says. she used to make hers out of rice flour, but yes, they are heavy & dense. This new that she buys is actually quite good. Watch out for the cereals that "say" they are gluten free. some are gluten free but are ran thru the same machines that the gluten cereals are.

a phone app==how cool
