We have finally received a few days above the freezing point. Last night I finally got my car cleaned inside and it needed it badly. DH is cleaning the pipes and chimney at the moment so that means I don't have to do it

I have a very sick GG here, doc say's it is a virus but I'm taking her back to the clinic if this keeps up. She looks and feels miserable.

Good morning. I am sorry your GG is sick again. Poor baby. I wonder where all these viruses were when we were kids. Or even when my kids were young. There seems to be a lot more around or they are hitting our kids harder or something.
Today I'm going to find something to do but out of the rain. Maybe clean my front porch. And the ever-present laundry.

Tina, do not work too hard...I agree about the kids. I also think that many parents do not keep their sick kids home like our parents & we did when they are sick. As a result other people's kids get exposed to all the extra illnesses. Poor little thing, it is not fair that she suffers so.

My Niece is a Nurse Practitioner, & she had the same problem when her kids began going to school as well. At least it does not cost her a fortune going to the Dr., as she can take care of most illnesses herself.

In-laws went on their way......but we had a nice visit.

Had a full rest of the day, went to my sister's 60th birthday party (it was just a few close women friends.)

Had a nice time for sure though.

I think GG has the starting of croup again....her doctor is in tomorrow so we'll get a much needed appointment. I remember as a child, sick kids were kept home...not now, they send them to school to share with everyone.

Sorry for your GG, Sunny. Sounds like you are taking proper care of her though. You are exactly right about sick children these days.

It is very chilly & rainy here today. I hope it is not that way tomorrow. I have more errands to run then...(it seems that errands are a never ending thing for me....)

Junie, I'm taking or rather going with my mother to her doctors appointment this month. She is giggly a lot and we're all wondering if she's taking her medicine incorrectly.

Colby is much improved. He's lost 30 pounds so it's hard to even look at him without him seeing the shock and sadness in your face but he is eating so he'll gain it back. They (whoever they is) did some more neurological testing and it appears that his memory is in tact. He answered every question except 1 and got all the math problems correct. Years ago my nephew was sick for a long time and he forgot his multiplication tables and how to do math. He re-learned it quickly but it was just one more thing he had to do. I didn't even think of this but because he was on so many sedatives for such a long time he is having to do methadone treatment so he doesn't go through withdrawals. So happy about the progress.

Sheri: We too wonder about my mom taking her meds correctly.
When she was doing therapy yet, she said I was going to come. pay her bills & do her meds..well I went once (only for the pill box making) and yet she did the pills, as if to prove to me she could.--I had to move 3 or 4 pills to the correct place though. but even if she got them right, she does this: she will take say her morning pills, lay them on the kitchen table & then take them piece meal..THAT is a problem because when my niece came to clean when Mom was in the hospital, she found a lot of Mom's pills all over floors all thru the house.

Today she hung up on me b/c I would not agree with her about my niece not inviting her to my sister's birthday party yesterday.

IT was not a family party, it was my sister, her DD & her DIL & 4 girl friends. NO other family except me.

I am so very happy that Colby is doing so well. he will gain his weight back. growing boys LOVE to eat after all.

WE are going to a prayer vigil tonight. Other than that I am done with my day.

Sheri, I'm so glad about Colby. I hope he gains weight back quickly.
My dog is not sick so much. He does have cancer but it doesn't seems to be affecting him that much. He is 16 years old. He has arthritis and creaky bones. He is nearly blind and very deaf. When he wakes at night, I let him out every time in case he has to take care of business. And then he needs to be covered up when he comes back in and lays down. I keep it rather cold in the house and that is hard on old bones. He is just old and loved.
I am ready for the week. I hope the weather stays nice for school.

Sweet dreams all. I'm going to fall into bed at 9 and hope to sleep through.

I have an appt. to get the oil changed in our car tomorrow. BUT if it is raining like it is tonight, that will get cancelled for sure.

Sheri, GG is 5 and doesn't have a nebulizer...they just give her a croup treatment as needed.

Sounds like everyone had a busy weekend...today I need to take GG to an appointment then the usual housework is top of the list.

It is odd to wake to my alarm. I did this morning. I always set it but most often wake naturally. Or the dog wakes me. I'll be fighting that feeling of being late all day.

Tina: I wake naturally too. I rarely set an alarm, although I keep a clock for that by my bed.

Sunny, I hope that GG is feeling better soon. IF it would ever warm up, perhaps that will help. In the mean time I hope the Dr. can help her.

I have an appt. for the car to get an oil change today. I do not like to drive in heavy traffic when it is raining, so I am thinking of changing it to another day. Still chilly on this rainy day.

juniegirl, I don't like driving in the rain either. The hospital is only 24 miles from my house but it takes at least an hour to get there and longer when it's raining.

Johnny took my car to get the oil changed last week and it ended up costing over $500.00 because it was time to get some type of belts changed. Surprise!! We do all the maintenance that's needed because I travel back and forth to GA a lot. It did help when we sold our last car because we got top dollar because they checked with the Honda place and saw that it had been kept up to date with everything.

I am going to get the oil changed. It is not raining hard, so I have no real excuse to not go. I will hope al goes well.
We do regular maintenance also. It does make a difference.

It didn't rain here this morning (yet) so I took Teddy to school and stopped at the store and came home. I have chicken breasts with fruit cooking away in the crock for some meals. (And dog food.)
I've sorted through my pantry and removed most things close to their due dates to donate to hungry people. I needed the space. And my tastes have changed over time. Simpler and easier. So a lot of what I used to buy no longer appeals. The kids have changed too. So my pantry is going to change as well.

I'm baaack !! Safe & sound. I wanted to make chili for supper to hold off the cold, but I did not have any beans, so potato stroganoff it is. Good news is I will add some green beans & be done with the meal.

Good afternoon, GG now has a puffer for her bronchitis that has started. Praying it helps.

Tina, that's a good idea to donate before expiration...you'll help a person in need.

Junie, I have made chili before with cut up potatoes instead of beans...and DH said it was better than with the beans

I have chicken roasting so we can have club house sandwiches, I'll have a side salad while DH and GG gets treated to home fries.

I rested some & now my back still hurts. All I was doing was bending over and folding some towels on the couch.

I put on one of my old binders & now I can at least move some.

Ouch, Carol. Take care. It doesn't take much to throw your back out.

It did--I felt great for about 3 hours.

Now I do not feel as bad as I did but it still hurts. (this better leave soon, I get to go see the girls this weekend. Their big brother is having a birthday !!

GG was sick all night with fevers, it is snowing outside and DH has already been called in to work because of an accident. I have no plans on even venturing outside today.
