Good morning.
Yes Tina, June will be welcomed here.
We had no power for most of the day on and off yesterday....a lightning strike took out a power pole. More storms for this evening again...you'd think it was August here with this weather.

Good morning. I am up and ready for Tuesday. But it feels like Monday. My internal calendar is going to be off all week. I hope your power stays on, Sunny. Today I will take Teddy to school and shop for some things I got low on. Then go back to school for the spaghetti lunch with him. Then bring him home after. I'll probably nap then.

I had a fun time with Teddy today. Of the four boys graduating in Ted's classroom, I was the only parent who showed up. But it was fun. Ted cooked his mac n cheese and showed what he could do. They had a cake with the grads picture on it. I came home and collapsed into a lovely nap. A near perfect day.

Such a wonderful story Tina. I bet you were so proud of Teddy, and I am thinking he was so proud to have his mom there at his graduation. YAY for you both. Glad that you topped off your day with a good nap.
I ssslept 9 hours last night, & 10 the night before. Those 2 nights were to make up for the Saturday night where I got 4 hours sleep.
Perhaps I am caught up now. TTYA later.

Teddy did taste a little frosting but no cake. Tomorrow is the actual graduation and we will be there with bells on. And Thursday is the last day of school. Summer session starts on Monday. Sweet dreams all. I am heading out.

Good morning. It's Wednesday. It is warm already. I'm not looking forward to the summer at all. I'll get a taste of it this weekend. Off to get ready for Teddy's graduation ceremony. I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm so wiped out. Ted's grad ceremonies started a little late and were 20 mins late wrapping up. But it was good. We came home early and I wanted a nap but my napping sofa was occupied. Too tired to cook so it's cereal for my dinner.

Sorry you did not get a nap...Perhaps tomorrow.
Glad that Ted's Graduation Ceremonies went well, even of they were off schedule.
Perhaps you get to go to bed early and then get a nap tomorrow.

Good morning. Happy Thursday. Today is the last regular day of school. I will drop the dude off and take my car to the shop to get my passenger side mirror fixed. And I will shop for the weekend while that is being done. At least, those are my plans. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I hope your trip goes as planned, Tina.
I "think" I had some type of short-lived, cold/virus. I do not feel right today, but I do feel much better.
I have clothes to return to the store and a meeting to go to for my MIL.
Off to begin my day---

Sweet Dreams. I need to go to sleep, but I drank some tea & now I am wide awake. I guess I really need to begin to start drinking plain water.
I wish everyone sweet dreams---Hopefully I will be dreaming soon.

I started drinking hot chocolate as my nightly warm beverage...I fall asleep quite well but I wake after 4 am every night.
Rain here for the next 5 days...guess it'll be inside chores until it clears.

I thought last night I was getting better, then this morning I felt bad again & now I feel ok again...still have a cough though.. Looking like I will be home this weekend.
Mom Robin was in the nest this AM. She saw me & then left---so I put the paper covering I made for the last brood & put it back on the window. I will leave it on for a week or so.
I am off to get ready to run some errands. See you all later.

Good afternoon....I mopped myself into a corner for a bit. It is so cold outside today, brrr. I had to light the wood stove. Weather like this is going to make everyone sick. I hope you feel better soon Junie. Tina, I think no matter what the day is...there is always laundry to do.

There is always laundry around here. I am done for the morning. I finally got that passenger side mirror fixed on my car. And some shopping done at Home Depot. So I am feeling accomplished for the morning.

HI! Yes there is always laundry.....and dishes to do here. ALWAYS
Today I got my Driver's license renewed. I just beat the cut-off. In July (or so I hear) when you go to get a Driver's Licenser, you will just get a temporary piece of paper and after a back round check & such they will send you a permanent ID/Driver's License. If I am right, this will work for any other form of ID as well as just a driver's license. But since my renewal date is in June--I am good as is for 4 more years.
Then I returned my clothes & looked at some shoes. The sandals are already on the sale racks...I am always a day ;late & a dollar short.
I am going to sleep early tonight--so I will say good night early. nite-nite.

The idea of being without any cooling makes me sick to my stomach. And I don't have to deal with humidity much. It is 94* and rising right now but little to no humidity. My cooler is working well.

about shoes. I have 2 pairs of "flip flops" one white (with hot pink inserts..that was my DD's) and then 1 pair of black that belonged to my aunt. but I cannot afford to slip..I cannot wear the flip flops in rainy weather, or I might slip & fall...again. So, I need a good pair to wear for every day. The 2 pairs I tried on Friday, were ever so comfortable & fit well...thing is they were flip flop style & I cannot fall out of them--I need a strap on the back for most days. We have had our AC on for a few days. Rod turned it on b/c of the basement. He felt we did not need it yet, but as I said, the basement needed the humidity removed. I am wide awake now...always happens this time of night.

Good morning.
We got a break from the rain but the mosquitoes are horrid so we ended up inside for the day after all. Not much planned for today either, GG will want to visit the park on her way home later.
Have a good day all.

Good morning. I got a running start today and got a few things done before the heat and lethargy moves in. It is not supposed to be as hot as yesterday. A blessing. I am getting ready for school tomorrow. I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Well, today is about over and I am ready for my clean sheets. Tomorrow starts Teddy's summer program at school. It is only 3 hours a day and only the month of June. But it will be a fun wind down for Ted's education experience. Sweet dreams all.

So glad that Teddy gets to have this last bit of summer school. It will be good for you both.
I am still feeling "iffy" in that I have drainage in my throat....I really think this is allergies, but ya never know......
Did I mention I need to be well right now....I do. Oh well.....
G'nite everyone..sweet dreams

Good morning. Rain here for the next 4 days... guess it's nice if one is a duck It is good that Teddy gets a chance to still get out for a bit...I am wondering how he'll transition to not going to school? I am thinking I'll break out the sewing machine during this wet weather. I have a piece of printed canvas that I want to turn into a hobo style cross-shoulder purse. It will make it easier for me when I have the grands out and about.

Good morning. I'm up and have my coffee. Just waiting on daylight to turn on some water out there. Everything is tinder dry. Ted's sister will take him out a couple times a week when he is out of school. I will take him out with me on shopping excursions and also look for social opportunities for him. Your purse sounds like a wonderful project, Sunny. I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning. I too am drinking my coffee. I hope it wakes me soon. It sounds as if you have things all planned for Teddy. I am sure he will be happy with going out with his family. 4 days of rain?? yet----sounds like my house in the past while. This week may or may not be dry all week. It depends on which channel you listen to the weather on. I was not able to do my outside staining yet this year..and now it may well wait until fall. but I have to get it done before winter for sure. Sounds like a great idea on the purse...back when I was younger I used to make purses to match a lot of the clothes I made for myself. wonder where my chain is that I used on all of them..LOL

I don't carry a purse at all. But they sound nice. I got some shopping done on the way to the school. Took Teddy and some juice and otter pops to his classroom. Came home and switched the laundry I started before I left and put my groceries away. I put dinner in the crock for later and finished drying and folding the laundry. I have a second load to hang out in a bit. I have to go pick up Teddy in half an hour. This condensed day is going to take some getting used to. Oh, I just remembered, I need to fill my tank. So I'll leave a bit early as to have time to do that. Condensed day.

Resting is good.
I baked most of the day....it filled the freezer and warmed the house at the same time.
I also just ordered my grandson's birthday gift...a Little Tike's toybox, it is hard to believe he will be turning one in a month.

Maybe I can sent some cooler weather your way Tina....it reached 50*F(10*C) here today. It has rained for days and a new tropical depression shall carry it on for another week. Oh well, better now than when I plant my garden. I have no need for floating seeds

Hello: I went to ceramics today & then out to eat with my friends. As it would be my birthday tomorrow the waitresses sung me Happy Birthday and brought me a piece of pie with a candle on it!!!..My friends sang also---it was fun. Then I got home & slept for 1-1/2 hours. Really I should go to sleep early tonight to make that count----probably not gonna happen. Sweet Dreams to you, Tina.

Good Morning. Coffee in hand here. Tina, it sounds as if you are way organized. Kudos to you. Sunny. thanks for the birthday wishes. it makes me smile to be thought of. and I am honored to get a package from you. The timing is not an important. Surprises are surprises, no matter when they come. Today I will get a blood test, run an errand or 2 and then go to Wal-mart. I hope to find a blue/white print pair of shorts.....Happy Birthday to me.... I wish you all a great day!

I am home for the day. I have taken Teddy to school and home again. I took my trash to the dumpster on the way out. And shopped on the way home this morning. I put all of that away and grabbed a bite to eat. Then back out to wm to see if they had any paint that Ted's teacher wanted for his class. They didn't so I got bubbles instead. I'll look for paint another day. So I am done and ready for a nap.

Yay for supper out Junie...enjoy your visit with the babies. Tina, Teddy's teacher must love how you help out with the class. I ran errands, visited the grands then came home and lit the stove. It is freezing outside.

She does love it, Sunny. I do it because class budgets are bare bones. And teachers often go out of pocket for fun stuff to do. I know first hand. And we can afford to help so we do. It's fun for us too.

Sunny---Tina, thanks so much for the birthday wishes. I had a fantastic time....Rod & I met Valarie, Nora & Cora at a restaurant half way for us both from where Val is staying this week for Dinner this evening.. we did not I know if I had a cold or allergies so val decided not to stay here. Everyone will be going back home tomorrow. Nora is a cranky little girl & was only happy when eating or resting in my shoulder...or when I was humming to her. (I figured I should not sing in a restaurant after all.) anyway I had a wonderful birthday, holding Nora-----even if no one got a photo of it-----why I even got to eat a bit Now I am paying bills, and washing clothes...I swear the clothes multiply in the hamper. I will soon go to sleep g'nite everyone..Sweet Dreams

Thanks, Tina.
I have not seen a sunrise in awhile--I need to do that. They are so pretty.
I am now waiting for my sister to come & get me. She is taking me to see my Endocrinologist.
of course there will be lunch or dinner (or both) out.
I wish everyone a great day.

Good morning (still is here anyway). I hope you get good news from your endo, Carol. I made my appointment and I am home again. It did not take as long as they said it would. And I am legal now. I've been driving on an expired license for nearly six months without realizing it. My mail really sucks sometimes. I'm very glad I wasn't stopped.

Yikes Tina, did you have to be re-tested?
Good luck on your appointment Junie, it makes me smile to hear of your b-day with the babies.
Not much going on here today...laundry and mopping and such. The rain is never ending it seems.

No, Just my eyes to prove I don't need glasses. And because of my age they need to see me to make sure I'm not too decrepit to be driving. And get a new picture. My old one is too young, I guess.

Thanks ladies. When I got my license,(was it June 3rd?) they for the first time in years asked me my weight...and my height had to be within 1 inch of correct. BUT then I think that was b/c our licenses are now going to be identification cards for things like getting on a plane & such as well..... I have to wonder if I will have to have my eyes checked next time or not ? I told them that my eye Dr. said since I have artificial lenses put in after my cataract surgery, unless I get an eye disease my eyes will not change..ever. I have glasses but just to read. back to watch Doc Martin now

Good morning.
Here our licenses need to be updated fully with a new pic every three years...and if it is expired by one day then you need to be retested as a new driver.
The weather is getting a 2 day break before tropical storm Collin gets us Monday with heavy rain. I guess my garden planting will be put off once more.

Every 4 yrs. here. The cut off date for the chance in licensing here is July. They may be beginning the end of June...not really sure of the time frame. I got a hard copy of my permanent Driver's License b/c I got my license June 3rd. The next time I get them (2020) I will get a piece of temporary paper to dive on & after a background check, and so they say, my hard copy will come in the mail a few weeks later. I guess one more way to follow/control us. It is over-cast here, but no rain yet...I am hoping it does not rain. Today I have a few errands to run & then some housework to do here.

Good morning. I was up in the night for an earthquake and went back to sleep. Happy Friday. I am glad our licensing isn't quite that stringent. I wouldn't fare as well on a written test these days. I drive more by "feel" than how many feet or car lengths I am from something. Today I'll Take Ted to school and shop for the weekend. Then pick him up again. It sounds like a plan. I hope you all have a great Friday.

Sun-shiny and HOT now---near 90 with a heat index of around 100*F.
I too wish everyone a great Friday.

The earthquake was quite a ways from me so it was a gentle roll. But not so much for people nearer to it. 5.2 is a nasty jolt and quite exciting. I took Ted to school this morning and didn't come home. I went to the grocery store and got things un-refrigerated. Then I got some gas. Then I made the trip to the school supply store and was 15 minutes early for their 9 am opening so waited in the parking lot. I went to the door at 9 and read their sign. They don't open until 10. So I schlepped around for the hour including breakfast and got back after 10. I bought the teacher's desired paint ($30) and left there. I drove back and took the paint in to her and picked up Teddy a little early. And I took a nap when I got home. It was good.

WOW... I hate when days go like that. it seems that once a day starts like that it just keeps going as such.
BUT then, you did get breakfast out. I love to eat out....and oh, it has nothing to do with the getting of food... I love that "somebody else" takes my order, brings me the cooked food & cleans it all up after I leave. All while I sit and relax. That makes my day.
and earthquake ?? oh my....glad that you and yours were ok, Tina.

Junie, glad you got to see the babies.
I need to check and see if my license need to be renewed. I've convinced our mail lady throws our mail in the trash.
We've been at St. Simons Island since Monday. I definitely didn't want to come home.

California licenses are renewed every 4 years on your birthday. For the last few years I was able to do that by mail a month or so before my birthday. They sent a letter, you send a check and your license comes a couple weeks later. But I reached the magic age of 65 and I need to renew in person now. I am sorry that your vacation is over, Sheri. But welcome back. I'm about ready to hit the hay. Sweet dreams all.

Ours is every 4 years and some get to do it by mail & some not. It depends on if you need an eye test or a driving test, etc. I needed an eye test (I have glasses but just for reading). BUT, since the driver's license are not going to be state ID as well, the fee went from $10.00 to $30.00...that was quite a shock.
I am going to bed now--g'nite. sweet dreams

Good morning. We got a break in the rain so I cut the grass yesterday afternoon/evening. I have to head out in a few with the weed wacker....and give the flies another lunch I see everyone had a busy day yesterday as well. GG and I have a baby shower to attend today after lunch...she is so excited. It is for a neighbor's daughter. There hasn't been a shower to attend in over a year.

Good morning. I am having coffee and thinking of going out to watch the sunrise. A baby shower sounds fun, Sunny.

Good afternoon...coffee in hand is always good Tina. I went to start the weed wacker this morning and the cord stayed in my hand DH fixed it while I was gone so I will head out in a minute to use it. I haven't been to a baby shower in a long while and things have sure changed. Gone are the days of diapers, wipes and such and in are the days of every pink tutu dress that can be found. I guess 'fun' has taken over 'necessities' these days. Then they had this big tiered cake as a centerpiece and they didn't even cut it....we left with GG crying for cake. So now I have one baking in the oven as I have to make the cake that she didn't get to have It has been a long day...I hope you are having fun with the pressure washer Junie

I went out on the east side of the house to help..all shaded this time of day--he had already soaped it and it had soaked. But apparently "I am too slow"..LOL so I got fired. I told him when he needed a break I would take over for him. Really it is not a bad job just tedious, I could have helped.
when he is done, I will go to get supper items.

WE ate out tonight. we were both too tired to wait for me to go shopping and then to fix dinner. The House siding (& windows) are squeaky clean now. It is like Rod said: WE didn't think it was so dirty until we see it now all clean. I washed off the porch floor as well...THAT concrete looks so much better/cleaner also. I am going to call it an early night. G'nite & Sweet Dreams. 10:21 pm

Good morning.
Junie, I can tell you from experience.....white siding is a real pain. I use dishwasher detergent and bleach to clean mine.
Nothing planned for today...it is still raining.

I had a bad morning. Rod doe snot like to go eat at a place that has a lot of people at it. after driving around today, & ending up at a grocery store with a deli..(I was not happy) I told him that ALL restaurants will be busy on a sunday. You will not find a empty restaurant like the fish pace was that we used to go to. he says well them I will learn to cook food myself.
NOTE: In 37+ years the man has not learned to cook---if he thinks I am cooking on Sunday's he will be eating cold cereal or lunch meat sandwiches that he makes for himself.

It is time to learn to cook then. He won't learn any earlier. I'm sorry your Sunday had such a beginning. This town does not have moderately priced restaurants any more. In a town of 210,000 people the restaurants have mostly left town. In the sprawling 81 sq miles of the valley, there is only one area of restaurants and on the edge of town, fairly expensive ones. There are fast food places, however. I have to leave town to find some place to eat. It is sad.

Carol sometimes I get aggravated at Johnny too. He will eat out and sometimes fix his own food but a lot of times he'll say "are we gonna eat tonight?" Like his legs and arms are broken. Unless I'm feeling very nice my answer is usually "I plan on eating when I'm hungry. I suggest you do the same." I don't mind so much on the days I haven't worked but when I get home from work after he does it's aggravating.

Been up and outside. Thought my eye doctor appointment was tomorrow was today at 8:45. I called and they rescheduled for today at 3:45. Think I need glasses that are stronger than 1.50.

There are a lot of fast food places and The Olive Garden and a few steak houses. If we want healthy food we have to go into Charlotte and it's more expensive. We mostly eat at home. I talked to someone who used to work at Olive Garden and she said everything is packaged, not cooked fresh, which was upsetting to me. I guess you can't serve that many people if everything is individually cooked.

I like coffee shops and diner type places. It is just that my town doesn't have any. There is one Denny's and not much else because of the depressed state of our city's economy. Crime is on the rise and we've been declared California's most dangerous city because of that alone. Places like Marie Callenders moved away. And the mall in the middle of town has been closed for years now. Toys r Us even packed up and shut the doors. Good thing I like to cook and it's much cheaper than eating out.

I am more concerned with the price. The place we have gone to for years, made some stuff fresh, & some was frozen plus they had had breakfast & lunch specials. BUT the owner retired a week or so ago. There will be a gourmet coffee shop open up in it's place soon. But, there the 2 of us could get a nice filling meal for under $20.00. And it was not so noisy so we enjoyed ourselves as well. Those days are gone. BUT I will not cook at home on Sundays.--well, I will make a salad or pop a pizza in the oven for supper on Sundays, but, I am only 9 months younger than Rod..and I want a day off too. Even if it is only a partial day. When it comes to other places to eat: there are 2 Chinese places, close, but they are not cheap...an Italian place--mid ranged, and then a plain & simple family type restaurant. BUT as it has a variety of foods and is local it is very busy, so not desirable to Rod...plus they just remodeled so the prices went up. I eat there most Tuesdays for lunch with my ceramic friends, but it is too busy for Rod. Other places we have to drive like 20 to 30 minutes..and it is not worth it to Rod. I guess he likes cereal. Also, there is a tavern that serves food, just a few blocks up the road from us, but we do not go there much--Rod can't seem to get past it once being the local, questionable, bar.....But that was then (when he was a kid) & this is now... Really they may be a bar but they now serve more food than "beverages". My cousin's girl who just sold it, remodeled the whole thing & cleaned it up big time. And since it is the only food place in this town here, people use it more like a restaurant than a bar. The food was good when Teri owned it--I can only assume it will continue to be the same. Washing clothes today....

Hi all...just got power back. We are being hit with the leftovers from the latest tropical storm. I have a brook forming on my lawn, this will be another mess to deal with. Oh well, at least we have no trees close to our house to damage anything. We have no local places to eat here either but the one place I love is where my daughter lives. It is a pizza/sub place...nothing fancy but two people can fill themselves for $20 and the food is delicious. DH doesn't mind if I take a day off from cooking if I need to....as long as their is home made bread and leftovers from the day before That's what happens when they get spoiled.

I am just sad to drive around my hometown and see three quarters of it empty buildings. When Teddy is out of school we'll do our shopping in a different direction. School is the only reason we have to go that way. I am home for the day. And I should be doing laundry. But I'm not. It'll be there another day.

Yea, Rod is real good about eating leftovers. And really if I put it in front of him he will eat it. The worst he comes up with is, don't make this for me again...you know like I would make 1 meal for him & another for me..LOL but yes spoiled is the name of the game---My sister told me to "stop babying him" when we first got married...I thought what does she mean....well now I know----all the stuff a newly married girl did, is now what he has come to expect as normal & nothing special. oh well...it is what it is.... Tina, I have learned...that laundry will wait for you...and wait & wait....I really think it should learn to do itself...

Yes, laundry that does itself would be a good trick. I still have to put dinner away but it was good. I am done for the night. And I have leftover meatloaf for the next couple of days.
