Christmas #2 for Junie awaits

It snowed last night so DH is out early. I baked in the early morning to send to GG's Christmas party today....I have to make this weeks bread in a few minutes as well. My house smells like a bakery this morning

It is so windy outside....it is scary. There'll be many without power if this continues. I am glad I get to stay inside today.

Hello! I am at my DD's and the kids were wound tight. The wonderful news is, that baby Ian came to me when I asked him to and let me pick him up. Mind you I had to let him right down so he could go right back to his Momma, but hey, it was a start. I wish you all a wonderful night and a better day tomorrow. I will be back in as I can.

I have a few things to catch up on here before the storm tonight and tomorrow. I hate big storms at holiday time....there are so many people who have to travel.

Yes and no. Teddy understands Christmas and loves Santa Claus. But not so much the time part of it. No count down the days thing.

I got the best Christmas treat today....our store got in 5 pound boxes of clementines from Morocco. They were pricey but a Christmas tradition none the less. They are delicious.

So happy for you, Sunny. They are yummy, but we could never eat 5 pounds before they went bad...and it makes me sad. I made Russian Tea Cakes with the boys today.

It must be catching. My mother, DD, GB, GG and I are all under the weather...some sort of sinus bug. Only my husband has been spared. Oh well, the show must go on. I am having our turkey meal tomorrow evening since there is a storm coming for Christmas day. DH will be on the plow for the duration of Christmas.

BTW: We can eat those clementines in 3 days here

GB called this morning to come to Grammie's house. So off I went...it is now storming outside and he wants his mommy. The joys of toddlers.

It is calling for a foot of snow for tonight into the morning, then another 8 inches on Christmas Day. I plan to go nowhere for a few days....unless Santa can take me in his sled.

Wow...Sorry for the storm. What will DR do for Christmas ? Will her daddy stop by to bring her home for the hoildays? I will see you all tomorrow at some point.

Yes, DD will get here somehow....I'll probably take the truck and go for her at supper time if need be. DH gets home at 5 pm until 9pm. There is a mandatory 4 hour break after 16 hours on a plow. That is why I am having supper at 6pm today....if he can stay awake to eat it.

They are calling for a major blizzard starting tomorrow morning as well. There will be a lot of stranded visitors over the holidays. It will be a mess but we will snuggle here with the wood stove and leftovers followed by a two foot pan of homemade cheesecake

Good morning. Laundry is on my list today. It seems a weird thing to do on a Christmas Eve day. But it is what it is. I've got to clean this illness out of my house and that begins with laundry. Well, along with generous amounts of Lysol, etc.
Christmas will be postponed until we have health and cleanliness around here. Santa is not allowed until then.

Hi all,

I finally finished my great grandsons blanket, I started it just before I hurt my foot, so couldn't use sewing machine till now... I finally got it set up again to be able to use it... will send it to him with dd and family... 19 th blanket I made for grands and now great grands too... haven't got a clue as to how many others I have made.

I made a really good roast for dinner last evening, came out really good, actually two of them.. going to use the leftovers for sandwiches .. and make a vegetable beef soup ... going to be a lot of food needed the next few days... we got seafood for our Christmas dinner.. and some nice wine..

Well off to put the blanket in the dryer... Merry Christmas all, hope you all feel better soon at your house Tina..

Christmas 2017 is one that I hope never repeats itself.

It stormed for the day before and the day of, dropping over two feet of snow. DH missed the meal, we were all sick. I was so sick yesterday that my mother took the family to her house after they opened the gifts. This bug is getting the best of me.

I hope that the festivities were better for everyone else.
