I always had the issue that I would try to space it out and then in the spring I would have food left. Better to use it up then buy stuff.

Sunny your growing season is so short and your winter so long I'm not surprised you use up all your stuff before you have more. That said we ate more stuff than I put up so I'll be stretching it out too.

DH has been eating the mustard beans to the point that I had to hide two bottles for Christmas

If I need to be sure to have a specific food item for a meal I have to hide it from Johnny.

Gracious...so I guess ALL men are this way. And here I thought it was just my DH as he was the spoiled baby of the family....
