Hi. I've been busy today. First my computer lost Google Chrome. So I get together with a geek to figure it out and mt phone went out again. So on my cell for the next part to let them know rhey failed. a two-day fix is not a fix.

Today is a clean and mop day. GG said she felt good enough to go to school, I am thinking it is because she joined the mini-basketball team. They have practice today.

Did I close the other one down? Sorry. I don't know how to tell when it's full. Tina are you fixed  I got up this morning at 7 to be at the doctor by 9, left the house at 8:15, had a flat tire, missed my appointment. Thankfully I didn't get far and was able to drive the car to the tire place and Johnny was able to pick me up and bring me home because they're booked and working short handed so it may not get fixed today. Plus it was pouring rain. So glad I wasn't on the highway in bumper to bumper traffic. Shelley, Aubry, and I are going to the Southern Christmas Show tomorrow. Aubry hasn't missed any school so she can stay out a day. We went last year and she loves it. Here's a link (hope it's ok). https://southernchristmasshow.com/ It's quite the extravaganza.

Good morning. Yes I have a cell phone for emergencies. It is a smart phone and I use it as little as possible. Mostly because it's touchy and I am not very skilled with it. But it's something when nothing else is working. And it gives me peace of mind on the roads.

We had a good time at the Christmas Show. Lots to look at and lots of people to watch We were there when it opened at 10 and left a little after 3. Tina I hope your repair person shows tomorrow. When I was doing nursing triage at home I was supposed to have a dedicated phone line other than with a cable company. My only choice is Frontier Communications. Called many times, a guy came put in a phone, stopped working after 2 days, never could get anyone to keep a repair appointment, cancelled my service, no one ever called to find out why or showed to fix anything. I plugged my work equipment into my cable phone and found out that I wasn't the only one who had done it. Worked fine. There's a Frontier office in the town but it's an "unmanned store" meaning no one is ever there. It's to fool people into thinking there really are people working in the area. The company is actually out of MA and the people answering the phone will make appointments knowing that no one is going to show up. I don't know how they get away with it.

Yes, it is Frontier communications. We were Verizon for years but they sold us a few years ago. And reaching Frontier is hard.

Didn't get to play doctor, but if history is any indication, I will be given an invisible pill out of either an invisible bottle or one out of a little empty sprinkle jar that the girls have to give their babies treats when they use the potty like they are supposed to.

GG loves that show...we tape it for her. She is obsessed with the Egyptian documentaries. I have a parent/teacher conference this afternoon for report cards, then I'll pick up a few groceries. I am baking today...cinnamon buns and tea biscuits. It is supposed to be 36* F today...a welcome sight.

At the Southern Christmas Show I bought some mittens for myself, mother and sisters, a vibrating pillow for Johnny's back, a tiny light up ceramic Christmas tree, cheese strudel. I tried to buy Shelley a nativity scene, cuz she loves them, but she wouldn't have it. Good luck with Frontier Tina. PS I'm using Johnny's pillow right now Not sure who I really bought it for.

Well I think it is just for parents...plus it is a Catholic Church School...and I am Lutheran...I doubt if they would make allowances for me. I do try to support the school when I can though...

I have never hear the term PTL. Is that a parent committee? We don't have any here, they cut it out because parents are not allowed to volunteer and help with children unless they are screened and have a special course. I know it is for the protection of the kids but things sure have changed. You got some nice treats Sheri..even if you pretend it was bought for your husband Have you gotten any word from Frontier yet Tina? It is a slushy snow/rain/freezing rain mix for today...I'll go for GB tomorrow.

PTL...Parent Teacher League ( not 100% sure if the L) they changed the name from PTA ( parent teacher assocuation) because There were dues with it.
Rod & I took classes to be cleared to help at Henry's school. If they have to be repeated every year, I will decide then if I will take them again.

1/2 hour. That's how long it took to fix my phone line. After seven weeks out. The first couple of weeks I thought it was my fault. A faulty phone. Then I borrowed a plug in and realized it was not. So I started calling. Ran my cell right out of minutes and had to fix that. I am feeling slayed.

Yes, why not wait until after Turkey day to do anything Christmas ? That is MY plan. My turkey day is in October but I want to get them up before the coldest weather hits soon. I took them out and untangled them...that's as far as I got. Tina, so was it fixed by them or you? They should reimburse you for all those weeks.

If course you are right about the weather, Sunny. Sorry for not thinking of that.
I can smell the garlic on my dinner. It is in the oven. I love 1 pan dinners that I put in the oven. I can deal with less work for a meal.

The cold weather is why I went ahead and started with decorating. Of course we don't get as cold as Sunny or Junie but it's a lot easier to do it when it's 60° rather than 30. I like one pan dishes too. Winter is the perfect time to eat nice, thick food out of a bowl. PTL makes me think of Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker

Gracious me, Sheri... Sunny, I was roasting cut up potatoes and boneless country ribs...... I put butter, and then garlic salt/black pepper/parsley on the potatoes and roast until done..I put garlic salt and pepper on the ribs ( pork) and sometimes, I add BBQ sauce at the end.....the last 10 minutes or so...tonight I added the BBQ sauce.......I had roasted carrots as well. Tomorrow Valarie, the kids and I are going to a few craft fairs. I am really looking forward to it. Sweet dreams, Tina...And sweet dreams to everyone else. Nite-nite

It cleared up enough that I was able to travel after lunch. I took the grandkids to do their Christmas shopping at the dollar store. They wanted to buy everything for themselves...oh well, I survived the day.

Hello !
We went to 2 of the 3 craft fairs today. Our kids wanted everything as well, but were pacified with just a few things,(and some chips) which was nice. I got a locket for Valarie, and a few small things for the kids. Grandma got some home grown black walnuts so.... ....Waldorf Salad, here we come !

School is cancelled again today, the storm is pounding us with wet sticky snow....I can see many snowmen being rolled up later today everywhere. I am hoping it is nice tomorrow, I want to go to Walmart and run all my errands.

Cancelled school..........Really I used to like when that happened for the kids...but then none of us had to get out in the yucky weather if it was. I hope BY is able to get out and make a snowman.
Today is a haircut and then picking up chicken and dumplings kind of day. Henry's s School is having a fund raiser.

Junie, we've got a few more craft fairs to get to before Christmas. Aubry loves looking at the stuff.
Seems like school has started cancelling early this winter. Supposed to be in the 60's here this week.
Our Christmas parade has been postponed due to rain.

They were wonderful! Homemade by all accounts. Then there was green beans with ham, slaw with vinegar and oil dressing, a dinner roll and a chocolate chip cookie. They were homemade as well. And yes, very comforting indeed. Thanks so much.
Kitchen is clean and groceries from today are put away. I will head to bed soon.

I had planned on wrapping Christmas gifts today so I could then send my Grands in Virginia their Christmas gifts.. But nope..watching my Grands instead as their cousin has a fever and is not going to school. Her mom has an appointment and so the other Grandma has to keep her. Val did not want to expose her 4 to whatever their cousin has, and I do not blame her. Sad to be me though.

We have two storms coming in, a bomb cyclone coming from north California and another coming in from the Pacific. Expecting lots of rain and snow in the upper regions. At least one of our ski resorts opened last weekend and more opening this weekend. The rain is much needed and welcome (for fire reasons).

We have rain, heavy winds, storms and possible tornado 's coming tonight. Gracious..I think we could all do without winter.....

Yes, as far as I know all the storms headed east..missed us entirely ! So yay !...now if they will just miss us on Saturday as well, remember, Carol wants to go home to the family "Italian Thanksgiving" .
Didn't cough from yesterday evening until 5:30 this morning....but now I am trying to make up for it. Rod is making me coffee and oatmeal...so there is that at least.

Do you also have plans for T day, Carol? Yes..we will go with Valarie to her DH's Step Father's family celebration. They have to rent a large hall as the family is so big. That will be for lunch. Then When we come home, I will put a few turkey legs in the oven, and tonight I will make a pumpkin pie to go with. Then on Saturday Val, her fami!y, and Rod & I will go home to have the Dudley Family Thanksgiving. It will be Italian food. I am looking forward to that one in particular. What are your plans Tina ?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you South of me.  I hope everyone feels better soon...and please, no sharing with me I made it to Walmart yesterday...and I pray I do not have to go again until after Christmas. It was a fiasco in there....that's what I get for going on 'monthly pension day', (which I thought was today not yesterday). Although, it was nice seeing the excitement of the elderly looking at toys. I spent a half hour helping some random lady pick out items 'age wise' for her grands. She was so thankful...it was a nice feeling. Save me some turkey please.

Happy Thanksgiving from Southern Missouri !
I have 10 inch pumpkin pie in the oven, so the house smells good.
This afternoon, I will put some turkey legs in the oven. Then when most of the meat is gone, Carol will make herself some wonderful turkey soup. I love turkey carcass soup.
Sunny, I will save you some turkey and pie.....if you bring yourself that will be your part.

I am watching Harry Potter for the first time. I know I left it quite late but that was my choice. It is very good but too dark and one of the things that put me off it for so long.

And we have snow! We've had rain yesterday and all night . But it started to snow about an hour ago. Big fat flakes that drew attention for their silence after the clattering rain. Then smaller ones that started to pile up. Now we'rt back to giant ones. I wonder how much we'll get?
It took out my satelite so nothing to do but watch it.

I hope it put out all the fires also. There were no talks of fires on the news this morning so I think it's done its job.
We get snow a little almost every year. This one finally melted off of my satellite dish so the TV just came back on. It would be odd if it were still there tomorrow.

DD has friends who went cross border shopping for Black Friday. I can't imagine driving over 12 hrs to go shopping on a normal day.

Snuggling under blankets is a good way to spend a cold day Tina. Junie, young or not...I never liked to travel or shop so I guess mixing the two together is a double whammy I am making a large batch of donair meat today. Monday is going to be my 'roll making' day. The cooked meat mixture has to chill for two days to slice well it seems.

Junie I didn't develop a cough. It was a passing thing thank goodness. Maybe because Ginger keeps her house 66°. I took my electric blanket and wore one of her jackets the whole time I was there. They are polar bears.

I know of one fire in my area, not close. The one in Santa Barbara. And I have heard no news of it since our rain/snow events. It couldn't have made things worse though.

I do hope the wet weather took care of some of the danger Tina...it is so sad. Bestofour, the meat is eaten in a pita bread...I also put it in egg roll covers. If you need some heat, ya'll need to come here. DH has the wood stove cracking and the thermometer showing 82*F....I am going to die.

Sorry Sheri for the cold at your DD's. Glad you had items to help you be warmer. Glad you did not have a cough..it is really annoying.
Sunny..the donairs sound good. Is your DH getting the stove ready to be banked and coast for the night, or does he just like it warm ??
Tina, I agree with you...that is far too warm..but then they will not be cold in Sunny's house will they ?
I just went to a Christmas parade this evening. It was cold but we all bundled up. Plus, the good news ? The kids got candy !

Yes, Tina, I got to go to my Italian Thanksgiving. It was nice to be around family.plus my sister is a good cook. So that was nice.
It was supposed to be at least one day of a heavy rain. We!!, It was misting for awhile...but it is not a heavy rain . Same thing on Sunday...and yes ! NO heavy rains. It was wonderful indeed ! It was cool but the absence of a heavy rain was wonderful ! Thanks for asking !

I've been busy. Egg rolls, donair rolls and pizza rolls are done. Just the taco rolls left to do but the smell of grease has my eyes burning. I'll make them later.

We will get rain this week, I guess. An atmospheric river is going to break through this week sometime and dump on us. But I lack details. I think it is expected on Wednesday.

Yup, school is cancelled...it is supposed to be over a foot of snow to fall by this evening.
It's a good day to stay inside and do the laundry then clean and mop.

Sorry bc school is out but in that kind of weather, it is not safe out. So there is a silver lining of the school closing.

House is cleaned and mopped. I even done some baking, either I'm on a roll or I'm subconsciously trying to put off Christmas decorating

Sunny your school is cancelled a lot. I don't know how the teacher and the students catch up. And what about sports?
Went to see my mother and step dad today. I feel sorry for him. He really is trapped by not being able to drive and he's 70 years old. Might have to live like this a long time.

That is sad Bestofour, how is he adjusting?
There is not much of a sports program for our school due to lack of students Bestofour, they are down to a girls basketball team and that is because they lowered the age to be able to play.
I am going to open a new coffeehouse.

He's not adjusting well at all. My mother will eventually need assisted living rather than just retirement living.
Sad about the sports.
