Thank you Junie, let's fill it up. thumbup

I am still washing ceilings and walls but I should be all done by the end of tomorrow. I am tackling the inside of the kitchen cupboards in a few minutes....there'll be dishes without lids and lids without dishes. haha

Good morning. Coffee is not ready yet.

Gee, come by and do my kitchen when you are done with yours, Sunny. Mine has not been done for 2 years. I have been trying to make myself begin for several weeks now. It is not going well.

The girls are spending the day here today. They thought they should get to spend the night last night.

I doubt if we would be let down, Tina. IMO, we would be happy to meet you, Teddy, and Jonie...pardon me for misspelling her name.

Goodnight, everyone!

It would be wonderful to meet in person, we'd enjoy Tina's nice weather and company. kissie

We have been getting some higher temps all of a sudden, fast snow melt is a mess to deal with....I'm up to my ankles in mud. lol

SIL called that her basement was flooding, it is unfinished but she was worried about her wood furnace. It's been 10 years of telling her that she needs to run a pipe like we did but apparently she'd rather deal with water. You can't go without a sump pump here in spring.

Still washing walls but I should be finished today.

Good morning. I don't understand sump pumps. But I never had to, either. My few basements over the years stayed dry, I guess. Except the one that flooded.

There is a sump pump here, in the storage room. Glad we got one.

Tina, a sump pump is a necessity here.

It's 2 pm, time for a sandwich break. Now, if I could only have someone make it for me. lol

I paid $500 for the washer 3 years ago and was just told it would be 'at least' $375 to fix it....but the damaged transmission might have caused damage to the sensor and that will be more. So the bill will be from $375 to $575. Does that make any sense??????

Yep, they do not want you to fix it..they want you to get a new one..and my goodness, IMO the new HE machines are crap. I cannot wait (not) to get my almost 3 yr old fridge back on Wednesday. I am scared what it will cost me. And if it is actually repaired.

Yes, this place has had it since August of 2020. I called them the first part of November and was told that they thought they had it relaired, but a week in it messed up again.
I let it go. This past Monday, I went to their store. I wanted to see what they would say to my face. The lady, the owners wife, blamed covid on the long repair time... rolz

Long story short, We got a call, saying it would be delivered Wednesday afternoon. We will see.

Sunny I wish you could buy other than an HE machine. If I had it to do over again, I would have brought my older regular washing machine with me from Illinois. It was wonderful. Not an HE machine.

Paid bills are a good thing Tina.

Junie, I could not find a 'non HE' machine anywhere in the province....apparently they are not being made anymore.

Yes I know about non- he machines. I asked when I went to buy this one..and I too was told they are not being made anymore. I would love to have a few "words" with whomever came up with the bright idea of the HE machines...IMO they should be tar and feathered.

Yes paid bills are a good thing. Now a days ours just sorta trickle in. Annoying at best.

My snow has melted quite a lot this past week, I have a few bare patches of ground here and there. The daffodils are also poking through the ground against the house in the back that faces South. It is a pleasant thing to see.

Junie, my bills come in the middle of the month to be paid by the third week....I pay them at one time around the 16th to the 18th. Here, we can call and arrange to have our bills come in within a certain week.

Good mornong. I hear either a police car or an ambulance..I wonder what is up.

My bills used to come pretty much together. But in groups of 2. Rod got paid every other week, so I paid the bills due the 15 the first payday, and the bills due the end of the month
on the second payday. Here the bills come in differently and we just get our SSI payment once a month at the end of the month. I still am not used to it.

Good morning. The bills I payed were the bigger ones that are due twice a year. Like property taxes and vehicle insurance. I know when they are due so I plan for them and they don't hurt the budget. Other than that are the regular utility stuff and medical ins. I am grateful that I can do it all and have enough left over to eat and save.
Today I'm getting in some groceries. That's fun too.

Yes groceries my are fun...I really need to go pick up some stuff for snack time for the kids.
I was just in Target, and that would have been the perfect time to get that, but Rod was in the car so I was in and out pretty fast. I was so quick buying shorts for my grandson that one pair is the wrong size. Luckily I think they will fit the girls..They all need athletic shorts as they are all playing T-ball this spring.

I hope it's the snow that melts and not your mind, Sunny. I kind of like it where it is right now.

You’re raking snow and it’s already 83° here.

In the mid 60's here today. And it may frost or worse tonight. I did not cover anything, I hope that colder weather passes us by.I

Sunny, tell your DH that if he wants you to stop raking snow, you will if he will do it instead.

83* huh,? Sheri I am so envious.

The weather lady made some noise about snow flakes. I do hope that forecast is wrong.

I do welcome the forcasted rain though.

I’ve been at Ginger’s since Wednesday and it’s been hot and dry with no rain in sight. I’m going home Tuesday. I dread it.

lol Tina, maybe that's why I won't allow a cat in the house.

Junie, I have no idea about exercise...it seems the more I do, the bigger I get.

I replaced the piece of siding that GB broke when he 'broke my house'. I had a hard time trying to find a replacement piece, just lucky that DH's' friend had some spare pieces laying around from an old shed. It seems that every few years the siding sizes change....I have a few small pieces now for the repair from the hail damage from many years ago. I'll tackle that next week. I am ever so happy, I have been wanting to change those few pieces forever it seems.

Exactly about siding. Back at the farm, when we made the bathroom larger, we need siding to finish the 2 new walls. The siding sold then was smaller than what the previous owners had added. But Rod had no choice and we made it work. IMO all businesses have that figured out. If you can't repair a small area the other choice is replace it all..SMH.

I am going to work on my mystery game today, after I make a Wal-Mart order.

I think I need to rest again today.

Junie, what's your mystery game?

It's so windy and dry here and everything is covered in pollen. It seems like it rained every day during the winter and now it hasn't rained for weeks. Supposed to rain Saturday but it's passed me by the last coupe of times. Rained at Shelley's but not here.

Sheri. It is a 6 month set of games that culminates in the solving of a crime at the end of the 6 "episodes". You can solve each "episode" as soon as you have the required answer, and request the next episode to be sent early, but I just let the "episodes" come once a month, to spread out the fun. It was a Christmas gift from my daughter. You can look up "Hunt A Killer" - Curtain Call - to see what I am talking about. Mine is about a murder at a fictitious Theater called the Cadence in New York in 1934. In each episode there are ciphers to be solved among other things. I have been enjoying it. Also there are several different scenarios to choose from.

Good to see you, Sheri.

Goodnight and sweet dreams friends.

Bestofour, I could send you some snow...they are calling for a major snow storm tonight, the only good thing is that it should be the last 'big' one for the rest of spring season.

I had to cover things again last night. Weather forecasters say that was the last one for the season. We will see. My poor magnolia tree has lost flowers twice. The first time it was covered So last night I did not bother to cover it.

Supper is in the slow cooker. I have all 4 kids again this evening.

I am sitting here watching it snow...and not a little. It is a discouraging sight.....at least it is supposed to warm up in a few days to melt this mess.

On a good note, I have three cows that are due to calf in the next week or so.

Calves, how wonderful! Do you do AI or bring in bulls?
John went to work on a dairy farm when he was on a sabbatical in New Zealand. He was helping them out for room and board and experience. The owners were a young couple with a pair of twin newborn girls. He had met the mother when she was traveling in the US with a sister-cities group. They were sitting around going over their books trying to figure out how they could afford the AI. He piped up and said he could do it. And they were ecstatic. He did and they were good to go.

Tina, we have done AI before but not much luck...it was a young man learning how to do it for his father's dairy farm. So we have gone back to the bull situation. If the AI would have worked we would have stayed with it, the young man only charged for the price of the 'straw' and his gas so he could get the practice. It would have been worth the $60 if it would have worked.

DH worked on a dairy farm for many years, I did for a bit as well off and on...so strange, the wife was pregnant with twins and lost one, so I went in for a full year that time.

John must have had a lot of stories to tell from his expeditions.

There were many stories. And pictures. And videos. He called it all his barnyard porn. There were many friends involved too. He is missed.

How is your area doing lately Tina....pandemic wise? Vaccinations are slow going here, this week is age 65 to 70.

Everybody 16 and up is eligible for the vaccine here. I don't know how it's doing locally but California has a good grip on the virus right now. I don't have a good way to track the vaccines locally. Tangela is still testing positive as of this past week. That is a bummer because she can't get vaccinated until she goes negative.

Yes, kids and their 'friends' are a treasure. GG lost her 'Ginky' once and is was a disaster.

Tina, that is a long time for Tangela....is she still considered contagious as well?

Thanks about "Dumbo"...we lost the original Dumbo here at the house..so I had one at my house called. "Jumbo" and she took it home, renamed it Dumbo and brought me a new "elephant" to live at my house....I am still wondering where the original Dumbo is at...????

Junie, I found 'Ginky' caught in between the couch back....I still have no clue how it even got shoved in there. I found it when I tore apart the bottom of the couch to fix a spring. lol

Just mopped myself into a corner for a few.

Hi all,

Back from a week or so of feeling crappy... not covid just yuck, we did get our second shots so we are good to go visit kids after hubby is cleared from eye doc for his cataract surgeries.. second eye isn't healing as fast as first one did... as soon as they say he can get glasses we will be good to go... I need new ones to I am sure... so there goes another chunk of money... guess we can't take it with us... even with insurance mine are ridiculous..

Well I am off to dust house... taking a week off from housework is not good here in AZ... dust is horrible... will take me an hour to vacuum then dust furniture.. have to give Milo a bath too.. it's been way to long and he does not smell good at all... even I can smell him and my thyroid disease has almost destroyed my ability to smell much... LOL!

Have a good rest of day all....

Nana

Good to see you, Nana. Sorry for the feeling crappy. not to worry about your house. I promise it will wait for you. Take care of you first.

We here are both feeling crappy as well. We just have colds or some such crud, courtesy of the girls. Their mom says the good news "this crud" does not last long. I hope she is correct.

It was 84° today with a slight breeze. Beautiful. I need to do a little yard work. I won't be planting a garden this year.

We are moving into the upper 80s to low 90s this week. No stress to grow things, Sheri. You deserve a break this year.

Yes, I agree with Tina, Sheri. And as a side note, there are farmers markets to explore this summer if you are craving some fresh veggies.

We are in the high 70's to very low 80's this week here. But then the way it is going, it could be colder the week following.

Goodnight everyone. Sweet Dreams.

Don't be jealous of our weather, Sunny. We are in a severe drought here. Might be water rationed again. Also severe fire danger as well. It is not comfortable times.

Yes, and 3-5 inches of rain....storms and possible hail here. And after all, your snow will eventually go away.
