I have been a busy New Mommy getting ready for the arrival of my new puppy Friday !!! The east side of the house gets partial morning sun and afternoon shade. I figured with the heat of the summer coming this would be the ideal place for a new puppy to play during the day. Yep its full of plants and flowers on shelves and hanging up ,, and Nope none of these she can get into and chew on! She should only get about 12 lbs if that!! As she get older I will place some of them that's on the single shelf on a higher stacked shelve ..do need to worry the lower shelves only have terracotta pots upside down on them soo again she is safe from plants and chewing on them. This area is approx 14 ft long and 7ft across. Now don't laugh you guys !!->> Last night after work I made this fence!! YEP ME!!! Out of lattace, tomatoe stakes and zip~ties. and put some old borderwire fencing around the bottom because she is soo small she can still get thru the lattace (This fencing is a temp untill I can budget in for a Chainlink with a gate, But I believe this will do for the time being!!
The single standing shelf will have her doggy house under it and it is under the over hang..
Okay even Dwight said He's never seen a dog area with flowers and plants in it,, But then again I got out there and got busy not him ( okay well he did carry the shelves around the house , and put sand down and helped carry some bricks ) But as long as I'm doing most of the work I can decorate Emma's place of play as I see fit
Friday Emma or Immy ( I like both names So I'm still deciding) will be here ,, then the Fun of training begins!!!
This pic shows clearer where her puppy house will be under the single standing shelf/ It's been raining so much here the ground is still wet ( Really helped when I pounded those tomato stakes in!! ) So untill it drys out some she may not be going there for a few days .
Next on the list is getting her some toys in her new playground!
Oh BTW If you look close I did place Ms. Willy in there to keep an eye on puppy when I can't
Welllll What cha' think???~~ It's been a lonnnnggggggg time since I've had a tiny puppy ,, ' Ya think she's been happy there while I'm at work??

Diane - you certainly have been busy!!! The area looks just right, and you did a great job on the temporary fence! And of COURSE it needed to have some plants, etc - afterall... we want little Emma/Immy to feel at home now, don't we??? She has to know what Mommy likes, and to appreciate the "finer things in life"!
If i was a dog I would be happy there too looks like a nice place for her know she will love it Good luck on training her tell Immy emma hi from us at GH
Diane, you create wonderful places, and this is another one! Your new baby will be very happy there! Can't wait to see her. I like Immy!! That looks like it could be the feminine form of Jimmy, and that would fit!!!
Wrennie ~~ Triss is right!!! The puppys mama is Jack russel and papa is yorkshire terrier. Triss Today after work I got a lot of toys and some rawhide chews!!! Do you know that commercial where the little dog goes to the store and gets a new long stuffed dog and the dog carries it out in his mouth and the stuffed dog is bigger than the dog carrying it?? Well I got one of those long stuffed dogs today HAHAHAHHA ONLY I got a smaller version of that and will graduate to the bigger on later! SIllY Me!!!!!
Jimmy says I'm going to have my dog rotten within a month!
Think he may be right!!!!
Thank everyone Tomarrow I get the puppy!! And Shirley Immy is after Jimmy BUt Emma is a name I like too!!! IF she is stubborn and onery I will name her Immy IF shes sweet and eager to learn she will be Emma , Sometimes I call Jimmy @ work Jimmy Lou( cuz I know it irrates him in a onery fun way) Jimmy had been calling the puppy IMMY LOU and she has been running to him!!! TOOOO funny!!
Ohhh Triss see the pitcher plant in the far right corner hanging?? That's the Mama to your plant!!

"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Yep Wrennie You said it right!! It is Emmy Lou!!! I've been saying that all day at work,, Jimmy brought Emmy this morning and everyone at work had their play time with her! I'm about to give her her first bath and introduce her to the yard or vise versa HAHAHHAA !!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
She didn't like the bath too well soo I made it a quick one , I could have used that bath robe now Wrennie!!
Here she is sweet smelling and dry and clean
ANd again she has been worn out and back to sleep she goes!!! She really doesn't seem to mind the crate at all. When she wakes up I'll take her back out to her designated potty area again untill she knows!!! ( I sure hope she catches on to that message really quick!!)
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! She is just toooooooooooo precious, Diane!!! And I love the collar you chose for her too - pretty! What a sweetheart - she looks so shiney and clean now too!
Thanks so much for letting us be part of her first day home with you - it's so very exciting!!!
Loz it's beeen Yearssss since I've had a little puppy at least 15 years . I tried to get her to play with the orange dinosaur~ She will eventually I think :it's the softness of the purple dog that she is liking right now!
Thanks you all for Viewing the first day for Emmy in her new home as My baby girl that will indeed be spoiled!!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Yes Shirley it has her name on it, vet Phone #, and zipcode area, I still have to go get her license with the City! I also attached a dark pink bangle heart on it too!!! HAHAHA If I keep this up she will be like a "Paris Hilton" dog!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
diane, to hasten the potty training, put a handful of small treats in your pocket. when she goes outside, where you want her to, immediately give her a treat. she will associate potty in that spot with a treat. between that and a crate, you ahve it made!
I promise you I won't bore you with more pictures after today Emmy had been sleeping a lot since Friday evening , but this afternoon she was playful so I introduced her to yet another soft toy a huge purple elephant that you can pose the legs and make stand , sit or what ever!!! Emmy Loves this one too!!! I don't know if it's the cloth or the color as both fav toys are purple!! She was trying to figure out how to carry this one like she does her other smaller toys! lets try this way!!
Hmmmm NOPE!!
Okay Lets try This way..

continued from previous page.... YAYYYY She's got a grip and off and running to the yard !!! tooo funny to actually see!! That thing is bigger that she is!!
Ahhhhh Now she rests as she looks proud of herself!!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
waht a cutie diane. i'm with shirley, don't stop the pics, but be careful with that elephant. if it is posable, it probably has wire in it, so if it looks worn, take it away from her! safety first, aways.
Thanks guys I had already made note of that! The bendable parts are made of a " bendable cable" she will only play with it when I'm around and I will keep frequent checks on it!!

God Loves Creatures Great and small .So I'm asking for prayers for Emmy my Puppy!! She is very sick and has been diagnosed with all four worms that has infested her intestines and heart and is in grave danger She was also tested positive for parvo and has begun treatment. and also recieving Iron and sugar water by drip. Shes had a lot of bloody stools and vomiting !~ She is now at the vet and will be there 5 days. The Vet said if she makes it 5 days then she will be around 15-20 years. The next 3-5 days carries the answer,, The last pictures I posted( in critters corner) was the last time she was active and playful.. I've already grown attached to this sweet puppy.. Please ask God to Give Emmy a good life on this earth!! ________________________

Diane - I am hoping your wonderful vet can turn all this around very quickly for you all. Such a sweet little baby does not deserve to hurt so much, and neither do you.
I have faith that it will all be good, and you will have Emmy to love for many many years to come - afterall... she is your little miracle, right?
I am also praying for little Emmy Lou . Triss I have contacted my Granddaughter who has two of the pups she said hers did not have worms or anything wrong. I grilled her pretty good and told her how important it was to make sure. She will contact her friend that got the other one and see how hers is . Her friend is a vet tech at a Vet's office in Plano. Still waiting to hear back.

DIane, I only just read these posts about her being so sick!!! I'm so sorry!!! I'm praying for her too. I can't believe this happened just since I was looking and those darling, playful pictures of her!!! It seems so sudden! I certainly hope the vet gets her taken care of in a hurry.
I am also praying for little Emmy Lou . Triss I have contacted my Granddaughter who has two of the pups she said hers did not have worms or anything wrong
according to MY vet He said worms are passed to the puppies as they pass thru the uterus at birth and again in nursing, and expelled then puppies walk and play thru other expellsions and the parasites can enter thru the skin , paw pads, toys, drinking out of shared water/food bowl, laying in same area where other animals lay ..., etc. How only one of four get the worms is a medical mystery,, I asked the Vet today IF it is possible only one would get the worms and he said 99% sure worms will show up in stool eventually in ALL of them because they had not been wormed at 2,4,6,8 weeks of age or possibly not current to date. When puppys have a big round tight Belly and dull coats the possibliity of it having worms is 100% when the pup is under 3 months old. FRom what I saw all of the pups had big round tight Bellies and I had even mentioned How big the bellies were . Emmy was dehydrated and enemic from loss of blood in stool, and vomiting She is off the drip for parvo but still on drip for glucose. Today The Dr, administerd Further treatments with an eyedrop and she has eaten 2 teaspoons of a soft special meal diet but refuses any other food today so far,, Tomarrow they will see if she will drink on her own~ today she refuses. The Dr said Fortunately she is not in shock<-- Which is a sure sign of certain death from parvo. I'm sooo glad I was able to get off work and get home early enough in the day yesterday to get her to a vet!

Allie the mother is at the vet's now getting complete physical total blood work all the tests. Her boosters are not due till June 23. After all this she will be spade.
Meet Clyde my Male Sugar Glider. Clyde says Keep it organic.
Treatment for parvo has come far! My friend has a yellow lab who had parvo as a pup. He's ....uh...counting.... I need more fingers.... about 13 or 14 years old now! There is hope!! I am anxious for you Diane and Emmy Lou! Keep positive!! Thing will get better!!
and jimmy, getting allie spayed is the right thing. the pups are beautiful, and i'm positive have good homes, but you know, if there were enough good homes to go around... i love my dogs, but i make spaying or neutering the first thing i do 99% of the time i get an animal. it is just too important.
thank you jimmy for being such a great critter keeper
and thank you diane for keeping us posted on emmy AND posting the things that we all need to know as dog owners... may i never have another puppy, but if i do, you've given me good info
She sent Emmy an new toy to play with!!! I have it sitting on top of Emmy's crate for her home coming Sunday Possible Saturday IF Emmy eats at least 1/4 cup of food twice on Friday then she'll come home saturday otherwise it will be Sunday, Today she ate 1/4 cup for the day so she is eating more everyday, They even let her out of her medical crate to get some exercise the Tech said she even ran!!! .. IT looks like she has turned the corner to recovery and a home coming!!! I want to Thank everyone for the prayers and phone calls of concern!! You are all Special Friends in my life and Emmy thanks you too!!
Well Auntie Wrennie,, Your toy and card awaits Emmy!! And It will be the first toy she sees and plays with when she gets home!!! THank you soooooo Much and Emmy says Ruff Ruff!!( thats thankyou in puppy talk!!!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
That is such WONDERFUL news to come home to tonight, Diane!!! I'm so glad that Emmy is eating, and even ran a bit - hooooray!!!
You just have to know that all her Aunties and Skunkles here are so very excited, and keeping everything crossed that she will be home, thrilled to bits to be there, this weekend!
Can't wait to see more pics of that adorable little fur ball!
[color:#3333FF]That is such a cute toy from sweet Auntie Wrennie - way to go, Wrennie!
Diane, what a cute puppy Emmy is!!! I am so glad she is doing better. Seeing your furbabies get sick is heart~wrenching and I am glad her guardian angel was watching over her!
jimmy that's great that allie did the spaying well. you might want to go ahead and check on low cost neutering for the male dogs, just incase you find another female on your doorstep!
I'm expecting a call from the Vet tech today around 3pm,, I went to see Emmy this morning and she had just finishing eating and was very playful. She was barking too~ this was the first time I had heard her bark!! Kinda like the first time you heard your child say their first word then they never be quiet once they figure out it means communicating! They are going to give her a bath and one more feeding then a call about 3 soo Until then I will get her crate a good disinfecting and get her Auntie Wreenies toy front and center to greet her!!..
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
BOY, she took to that toy well!!! Auntie Wrennie surely knows her stuff, huh?
And that smiling picture just made ME smile and chuckle - too cute! I'm soooo happy for all of you that she is feeling better and is active and playing - I just know you are going to have wonderful times together!
Hello angelblossom Emmy Lou is so sweet I was reading all the well wishes and sitting here crying so grateful she is doing fine and is she still bitting your toes?Ha,ha she is so little and she is now a part of you honey take care and give Emmy Lou a big hug and kiss! Rita
Yes Rita she is still trying to bite my toes IT tickles But I make her stop so she doesn't think it's okay ~ I wouldn't want her thinking it's okay to chase toes of company if they have sandles on ~~ Might not be a good thing Huh??
