Junie, I've taken down my Christmas stuff and yesterday I noticed one lonely card still taped to the french door. It was from you I went through all my Christmas containers and found cards from Chermoni, Cindy, Plants N Pots (Lynne I think), Sherri, Wrennie and all sorts of other old timers. Wonder where they all are these days.

I know where Cindy and Lynne are
.and talk to each sometimes. Sherri used to come in periodically.

I have no info on Chermoni or Wrennie.

I really need to take my Christmas stuff down..I always have trouble starting.

Just a note to say I am still here, just not very active lately. broke my ankle and that took a long time to heal ... then was off on trip to see one of the grandsons inducted into the army... got to see youngest one too.. second oldest stayed home to watch the dogs..he doesn't like traveling much so probably was the best for him... will try and get here more often ...
Haven't done much else around here... hubby does the grocery shopping , since I am more at risk of covid and crap he took that over... to many people here don't believe in the shots ....

Will come by more often.....

Hi Nana. Sorry about your ankle and I'd like your husband to buy groceries for me too. I don't like grocery shopping.

It's gotten bitter cold (to me anyway) again but I like it. What I don't like is the wind that's come with the cold. Until today my spring plants were blooming but they'll bloom again when it's time.

INana, SO happy to have see you ! Very sorry about the ankle, but so happy that you have lots of good help. I think it is good that your hubby does the grocery shopping. Since he is retired, it gives him something to do, and of course it helps you. Take care, and yes, please come by more often. We miss you. Take care.

For some reason I am coughing again.
I had a nice day out yesterday with my daughter and her 3 girls. And as a bonus, I got to see my sister. So yay!

Oh no Junie. I'm allergic to the ingredient in cough medicine that works so I'm in trouble if I get a cough that lingers. Have you tried Guaifenesin?

Yes. An expectorant. Not even a suppressant will help my coughing..these coughs are due to allergies. I take Flonase..but try not to use it for a long time as I do not care for one of the side effects. I cannot take decongestants and I shy away from antihistamines. So I took an in a bad place.

Rise and shine, there is plenty of laundry to do today. As I said before, it multiplies by itself I think.

I think it does too, Sunny. I often do not see how 2 people who wear clothes more than one day in a row can generate so much laundry. At least you have a short person going to school that uses lots of clothes.

Do you guys know what GoodReads is? It's a forum for book readers to get ideas for books to read and discuss books. I have had an interesting thing happen. I'm in a discussion with 4 other people about Death on the Nile. This is the first time I've had any interaction with any of these people so I know nothing about them and they know nothing about me BUT that's usually the way it is. Generally people on GoodReads don't become friends and discuss their families and jobs and such.

So, we were discussing one of the characters in the book and I posted "in this day and age Jacqueline would be called a stalker. She seems like a nut case."

When I logged in last night Nora had quoted me and posted:

As a disabled person, I take offense at the term “nut case”. Therefore, I can no longer continue being in a group that uses this term. I’m very sorry that people still think that this is an okay term to use. I’m sorry again."

The other people have ignored her post and continued on with the discussion. I have the ability to delete my post and hers and started to do that, but although I'm sorry she took offense, I said what I meant and don't intend to run my every post by her. I looked up the nutcase in the dictionary (it's actually one word instead of two) and the definition is a person who acts crazy or foolishly and this character in the book is acting both crazy and foolish.

What are your thoughts?

Well. Hopefully I am allowed to say this here. But to me it seems that 1) there is always someone around that will take offense with what someone else has said. 2) what you said was really not so offensive (to me anyway,) and was your opinion. Perhaps in the future say IMO before you save something on social media ?

Well Bestofour, I am boosted and am on day 12 of still being sick as a dog yet GG was only mildly sick for two days, DH for three. I guess it is a hit or miss on how it affects people.

I use the term 'nut case' probably every day, in fact that is my nickname for GG.

Junie I think if I said IMO it would have made matters worse because then she really would have taken it personally. It must be horrible to take offense at everything even from strangers. Who wants to live that way.
