All fresh and new. They are calling for 3 to 4 inches of snow today but it will melt since it is supposed to be warmer later in the week. It is just a warning to get ready I guess. I did get all the outdoor chores for the Fall completed though. I am as prepared for Winter as one can be.  I must make some Halloween fudge/penuche later today as well.

We are covered in snow this morning. I know it will melt later this afternoon but it is too soon to see it, in my opinion.  Happy Halloween, I will spend the morning making fudge.

It is on the mid 40's now here. This evening it will get down to where you are now.

We usually start around 6:30p but we're waiting on my fiancee's nephew to show up... We don't have Aubree, but we have Trey and my littlest Loriann, her brother Eli, and their cousin Charlie at some point...

That is a drastic change in weather Bestofour, we call that 'sick' weather here.
Well, I ended up with 17 kids in total. The grands had a fun time, they each came back with a pillow case overflowing with treats. We get so few kids in our area that the treats are plentiful. I hope the kids had fun James.

Yes the kiddos and I all had fun, we walked around 3mi in the neighborhood hitting all of the side streets until the other parent I was with looked like she was about to fall over lol.

I hope all the kids had fun. I had over a hundred
here. This subdivision that I live in is heavily trafficked.
This is a first for me.
We got 3 trick or treaters all together in my other 2 houses combined. I had to take my kids to my MIL's house each year.
Very cold here again today.

Thanks for sharing the pics James, awesome costumes and from the looks of it...I can see a dentist appt in the near future from all that candy. Junie, I love seeing the kids all dressed up. I wish we had more kids around here. It is a cold day here as well, I have laundry to catch up on.....as always.

Glad to hear Dodge is well.
I hope your 'bug' is short lived Bestofour, it seems that a sudden change in temps gets everyone sick. Covid is still running rampant in our province, they estimate 1 in 8 has it now.
Today I need to wrap up the few boxwoods I have for Winter. I finally found where I put the burlap in the shed. The older I get...the more forgetful I am getting.

I took a few plant cuttings to save for next year but my stuff comes back anyway. I can't imagine having to cover or dig everything up like you guys.

Yes, allergies can be a real pain. I think I have a cold but then a few hours After I use my nasal spray I am all good.

I hope you all had a nice weekend. It was cold but the flurries that fell melted by the end of day so it is all good. Today is a clean and mop day. I need one nice day soon to be able to put up the Christmas lights...send some nice weather here by the weekend please.  I am glad that the two of you are not 'sick' with a bug.

It was a nice weekend. Not real warm but bearable at least. This Wednesday is to be the pick day of the week. I am hoping to get out and do my fall yard work that day.

Rod says I cannot go out and get my outdoor work done. He said the only thing that will help my back is rest. And, with the kids coming this weekend, I need to be recovered. So I will just have to hope the weather allows me to do my outdoor work in the next few weeks.
I hope your storm has stopped before you had to get out in it.

Junie, your husband is a smart man. Would he be able to do the clean up for you?...maybe the grands could help him.
We got to the appt but the roads were slushy. Driving in slush is worse than driving in snow.

I woke up to a few inches of snow this morning, just enough to make a mess since I have to leave in a half hour for GG's Remembrance Day ceremony at school. We will attend the second one at the local Legion tomorrow as well.
Have you had less precipitation than normal this year, Bestofour? We have had double than normal.

We had a lot of rain a few months back so I don't know that it's less for the year so far but it's been dry for the last couple of months,

I did manage to get the lights on the roof yesterday, I'll finish the rest of the outdoor decorating in a few days when it warms up again. I don't mind the cold but the lights do not want to bend when it is below the freezing point.

Oh craft fairs...I love them ! I am hopeful that I might get to go to one of the 3 they are having close to me this weekend. IF I do not have to keep the kids, as Brian and Valarie are going to have a booth at the craft fair that her school is having.

I hope to get to another craft fair soon as well, they are having one close to where DD lives. We plan to go then take the grands to do their Christmas shopping. Today is a 'pay the bills' day, the good thing is that I get to go to the stores as well. The newer neighbors still can't get over that it takes an hour to drive to WalMart from here. To tell the truth we were a little disappointed in the Christmas Show. There was a lot of barbeque sauce, jewelry, maps, makeup and hair product stuff that didn't have anything to do with Christmas. One of the clothing pop ups that travels around that we love didn't have anything good either. Clothes have gotten hideous.
Sunny, when Colt moved to the last little town in GA that's the first thing he told me about it - "there's not even a Target. We have to drive for 45 minutes." He was NOT happy.

I was thinking the same thing when it comes to clothes. My gosh, styles and colors are absurd. I was looking at items yesterday and thinking...who would wear that? You know, I have been to many craft fairs over the years and am yet to find something that has to do with the real meaning behind Christmas. There is never a nativity themed item anywhere.

Yes about Nativity based items. Thank God I have several native ties to put out each year. Some I made, some were gifts, a few I bought. And I have one more ordered, but it is really to rep!ace parts of my mom's Nativity that I now have that needs a few pieces replaced. But yes, you are right. I did make sure my girls grew up knowing the real meaning of Christmas. I still remember my oldest was 2 1/2 and we were on our way to Church on Christmas Morning. She yells out from her car seat "It's Jesus's Birthday !!
At least we did that right.

I have not been to a Christmas parade since GG was a toddler, every year it seems that the weather does not cooperate for the long drive to get there.

GG already put out the 'countdown' to Christmas decoration but that is as far as it got in the house. I did get the presents I bought wrapped yesterday though.
We only get our tree into the first week of December....I think that is GG's favorite thing now since she picks it out.

My grands here just yesterday noticed that I had not taken down my Halloween ceramics. (This happened as my back was not well.)
I will get them put away this week in preparation for Christmas decorations.
I wonder why I think I have all the time in the world to prepare for Christmas during Nov. And before only to be crunched for time after Thanksgiving. I really need to learn better.

I have to make a small Amazon order today than I will be done holiday shopping. I picked up a gift card at the pharmacy yesterday, I am glad they finally got them in.

Done shopping??? Aubry is the only person who has a wish list. No one else can come up with anything they want. Colby and Colt both have so much money saved they aren’t even excited to get money as a gift. I told them I’m using their gift money to get my lips blown up. 👄

Yes, done shopping ? Oh how I wish !!! I only hope I get my gifts bought in time that have to be mailed. I did send off my east coast Grands their Advent Calendars, yesterday. So there is that done.
Yes, A list is best, I am sorry all your brands are not helping you with that. You can form A group online where people can post their wish lists. Perhaps that would get your brands I retested in making lists, Sheri. If you want I can do d out what it is called for you.

Too funny Bestofour, my grands are still young so it is easy to figure out what they want or like. My daughter gets a small gift and a gift card, my mother wants everything she sees so she is easy to buy for as well. ~DH and I buy something we need for the house. My SIL gives all her family gift cards...no matter the age. She said it is nice to be able to do all her shopping in 5 minutes. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I second that. I have a full day of appt's to be followed by GG and I taking a few hours to ourselves to 'window shop' in stores. GG has to do her Christmas shopping as well, she is looking forward to a fun afternoon. Junie, this is the tree I made. The first pic is the true color, it looked a different shade in the house while I was tacking the lights on it. I'll get a pic with it's lights tonight.

We had a great thanksgiving, shopping today, then went to Cleveland MS to see all the lights. It’s beautiful.
Shelley wants money and she told me what to get Colby and Aubry so maybe I’ll just get my top lip puffed up 😉😉. Colt has told me what he wants but his mother says no to it so we shall see.

Today is the Dudley Thanksgiving. There will be Italian food to eat. Since everyone has had turkey we go with various Italian foods for our gatherings.

We ate Italian today as well.
Ginger has 2 big planter boxes on her porch and a gigantic magnolia tree so I cut some branches and fixed those boxes for Christmas.

Bestofour, you can buy solar powered Christmas lights now, they are a smaller light but they are very pretty.

The roads up by DD's are closed due to storm surges, there was too much ocean debris than they could deal with...there'll be a full day of storm cleanup tomorrow. There is a natural sandbar that is the road, sea on one side and fresh water on the other.

Yes, she is fine...she lives a mile away but the closed road means no school today for GB. Our snow has melted again. I need to go tip a few trees to make an arrangement for the step, kind of like what Bestofour did but I use an old creamery tin can. I should have picked them when I picked the cedar for my wreath...my mind was taking an early holiday I guess.

No school is always a good thing ( that is how I look at it anyway) So does GB. I just got back from taking a walk to get some branch tippings, my gosh the woods are quiet. I didn't even hear a chipmunk...but I did see some deer tracks.

Sunny, we have some solar lights but her porch doesn't get any sun. Glad you're daughter is ok too. I'd get tired quickly of dealing with your weather all the time.

Sheri, I did get to go to the parade ! The weather was dry, but very very cold. I had to take a long hot soaking bath when I got home. I was silly and wore a pair of nylon knee highs instead of warm socks. My toes were near froze. I will remember that for next year.

Dark and overcast, but it is supposed to be a bit warmer today at some point. In the 50's or so. I can dream that will happen, huh ??

At least our dog will go out to potty in the rain now..for her first 2 years of living with us she would not go out in the rain. So at least that is better now..

Aubry and I made some cookies from a cookie kit. It was fun and they look pretty good. I'll try to post a picture but not making any promises. I'm still not sure why I can't do pictures anymore.

I tried to post it, got a message saying "all fields aren't filled out" so I put a message with it thinking it needed words, tried to post and got a message saying "your message has already been posted so the post button is disabled." Oh well. I believe that you have to have words in a post for it to pass the editor checks (otherwise blank messages could happen); as for already posted messages, once you hit the post button it gets greyed out by a JavaScript action to prevent double posting, so one might have to copy their message and refresh the screen.

My brother tested positive for Covid..and he was at a family party ( I was there) This was the Saturday after Thanksgiving (11-25..Sunny). He is ok now.....and thankfully I have heard of no one else with Covid. I agree with you..hide, and wash your hands a lot.
