I keep my cast iron indoors. I've had a (mite?) issue with the cast iron since day 1 of it being potted. I have had it since 2019 and am not sure how to get rid of the issue altogether.
So far, I use alcohol to remove the existing (mites?) and then use insecticidal soap 1x a week to keep whatever it is at bay. But, I really want to just get to the root of the issue.
I plan on repotting the cast iron to a larger pot in spring but I want to make sure I understand what the issue I have been having is, whether it is fungus mites, spider mites, or whatever it is.

2nd question: My cast iron flowered.

Do I remove the flower? Again, I only keep it indoors and am not sure what to do with the bud as I've had it since 2020.

Thanks!

Put your plant in the shower and let the water knock off the mites. Mites hate water. Then dry it completely with a cloth.
