I am heading out in a few minutes to make a drop off at the local food bank. They are asking for donations of canned vegetables and soups. I buy that by the case when it is on sale, so I have lots to spare.

I might also stop and buy myself a holiday treat....a big bag of Doritos and I'm not sharing with anyone.

Junie, Christmas Eve morning I'm going to church with Shelley, then to her house for lunch. Christmas morning I'll go to her house for a while then not sure after that. I was planning to ride up and see my mother but it's supposed to rain all day and I don't want to drive around the mountains in the rain. Shelley said I had invited them for Christmas dinner but I just cooked a big meal and really don't want to do it again because that means I have to go to the store which I don't want to do so I'm not sure at this point.

Sheri, good luck on figuring out the rest of your holiday. Christmas Eve sounds great, though.

We had Christmas with Valarie and her family today/ tonight. Tomorrow we will go to church and then later we will Skype with our youngest DD who lives with her family on the east coast. And we will all open our gifts to one another.

To eat there will be leftovers from today.

Merry Christmas. I had extended family drop in throughout all of the day yesterday. GB is so sick that he didn't even check under the tree this morning when he woke up, the flu is passing around in his school.

Sorry for GB, Sunny. You know they don't feel well when they aren't excited about gifts under the tree. Poor guy.

I went to Shelley's this morning for a little while and came home and took a nap

1) we have church on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Sheri. Thing is since we moved here we do not go to church after dark since we have to go down the interstate then thru town to get to church. So we only go during daylight hours.

Well, I officially seen a green Christmas....there is not even a flake of snow to be seen anywhere. What a strange sight to see on Christmas Day.

Good Morning !

It's poured rain here for the last 2 days. I think it's stopped but sure is dreary out there. I need to go see my mother but I don't want to drive that far and up a mountain in this weather. Maybe tomorrow.

While Shelley had all her crew at home she took down ALL her Christmas decorations. With everyone there it didn't take long at all. I might start on mine today and just be done with it. It's too yucky to do anything else.

I was going to a party with friends on New Years Eve but they aren't going and I'm not going without them so I guess I'll be home. I don't mind. I have to work from 6am until noon on that day anyway so I'll come home and watch a little TV.

I take down my Christmas after Epiphany. Which suits me. I get to look at my decorations longer that way. But I love that Shelley took advantage of the extra help.

We do not go anywhere in New Years Eve...back in the day we at very least went out to eat...now even that does not happen. So Carol will make sure she has appetizers and snacks & such to enjoy. Who knows, I may even stay up until midnight.

Carol, I got your original card that you mailed 22 days ago.

We took down the real tree, some decor but left the table top tree, cards and hanging lights.

No plans for New Years here either.

Now I hope we have good weather as Carol will be driving home.

I went to see my mother today and she was having a good day. Dementia is such a strange thing. Today she was smiling and laughing and making sentences. She always recognizes me but sometimes she doesn't say much at all. Wish I could figure out what makes the difference.

Hope to finish taking down the decorations tomorrow.

I might go to a vineyard with friends on New Years Eve. I don't drink but still might be fun.

Glad your Mother was having a good day, and that you were able to share in that time.

Once the new years are here, I may begin taking down my decorations. I will leave the tree and it's decorations till after Epiphany like I said.

Guess what? It is snowing. Not that I really want snow but it worries me if we get the extreme cold before the ground is insulated. It does look pretty though with all the outdoor Christmas lights twinkling.
