Yes, I am sure, Sheri. Bad news ,(not really) is they won their game..10 to 5,---SO they will play today again at 4 and IF they win, they will play tomorrow.
..We will wait and hopefully go tomorrow to see her play. She is hitting well, and can throw very well. The girl has made great strides this year !!

It is good to hear that your Grand girl is doing so well, you might want to skip the extreme heat days though...they'll understand.

It was so windy today, I wish we had a few more days like this. I got the lawn mowed and tacked many chores...rain for tomorrow.

It is a good thing that the season is over for my Grand girl. I will say that we found out that all the teams coaches were making very sure that easj girl on their team was constantly drinking water. AND the minute a girls tumbler was empty they filled it back up with ice and water ! So yay !!

I don't know how they play multiple games in the heat but they never seem to mind especially when they're winning.

I got 2 cucumbers from my tiny garden.

I remember as a child playing outside in the heat, parents never gave it a second thought....we never had sunscreen or water bottles. We got some bad burns.

Oh I remember the bad burns. I had one when I was in high school. I had to wear a 2 piece bathing suit for over a week. It was horrid. And not that mom and dad were happy about it but I remember drinking from the water hose.

Congrates on the cucumbers, Sheri. I have many 1 inch size cukes, but none big enough to harvest
I have gotten a few cherry tomatoes though. Still getting lettuce though..

I drink out of the hose too smile It's 95°. I'm wondering if my tomatoes will actually produce tomatoes or if all the flowers are gonna drop off.

Well, I will let you know, as my tomatoes are also out in the 95*F weather. Now that the rain has stopped, (I am hoping) I need to go out and "really" water the tomatoes, potatoes, and flowers, every other green thing I want to keep green. Speaking of that, I have better go out and water my blackberry plants tomorrow night I guess.

Well sorry for the storms Sunny, but hey, at least you shouldn't have to water stuff. I will hope for that anyway.

So humid here as well.

I've got a shade cloth for my little raised beds and I'm going to try and figure out how to get it up tomorrow.

Shade cloth? I have never seen them. Is it like a tarp with poles?

It rained so hard last night, it was scary....thankfully the hail skipped us. What a nasty thunderstorm. It is HOT today, with more storms for the evening.

Same here.

It is a cooler day today, I guess that means I will get to play in the garden...the weeds grow quicker than the plants.

I ordered it from Amazon. There's all different sizes with different sized weave depending on what you're trying to shade. It comes with grommets on each corner. Since I have so much wind I decided to have someone come and dig some holes for what I think are 2 x 6 posts, so the wind won't blow it down, and he tied the cloth to the hooks he put on each corner. It's 15 degrees cooler under the cloth. I've had a garden forever and have never done this but I've heard that tomatoes will produce better in a little cooler temp. It's 100° right now so under the cloth it's 85°. Still hot but not direct sun.

We had a big windy storm come through last night and the shade cloth is still there so I'm glad I went with the heavier posts. Sunny, the shade cloth is just attached to the posts by grommets with string through them so yes the cloth can be easily taken down. We're supposed to be in the 80's next week so I'll probably remove it for a while.

twelve million degrees here, NOT the kind of day one just to be outside at all. smile I watered everything early but foliage on plants is burnt to a crisp. I am bringing in tons of cucumbers. Took Aubry and Colt to Barnes & Nobles bookstore yesterday. Colt has a favorite author and got 2 books. Aubry doesn't like to read, couldn't talk her into to anything so she got an ice cream cone instead smile

Yes, I too killed ONE potato bug..I know there are more, I just couldn't find them. Can I use "seven" on my potato plants now?

It has been SO hot here, that I just ignore what the temperature was/is.

I've never used anything on my potato bugs besides hand picking Junie, so I have no clue on what to use or when.

Another hot, humid day. I was going to make strawberry jam today but the heat has given me such a headache...it can wait until tomorrow.

My grandfather used to make a tea with rhubarb leaves to spray for potato bugs.

More thunderstorms for today. 😒

Sunny: I had rhubarb at the farm, but not since. I have to water again tonight, so no treating until at least tomorrow. I'll let you know what I decide to do.

Tuesday I took Colt to GA and came back today. It rained 3/4 inch while I was gone. Thankful cuz I figured everything would be burnt up but it's not.

I've never tasted rhubarb. I've heard of rhubarb pie but can't imagine what it tastes like.

The rhubarb is always mixed with strawberries here as well, sweet and tart together.

Yes, really, here as well.
But...
I once worked at a nursing home, and since apples were cheaper than strawberries, the cooks at the home used apples. Their apple/rhubarb pies were wonderful.
