No, that is how "Pay Pal Credit" works. ( It used to be called Bill Me Later , but then "pay pal" bought it, and it became Pay Pal Credit.)
"Pay Pal" is linked somehow to a person's bank account or possibly a Credit card. Honestly I do not know how it works, as I don't have/use that. I am sure there is someone around here who does know.

My daughter uses PayPal but PayPal credit is not available in Canada yet.
Just listening to the scam stories in the news keeps me from trying my debit or credit card online.

Just listening to the scam stories in the news keeps me from trying my debit or credit card online. Yes, my DD uses the regular Pay Pal as well. I don't like to use my cards online either. Does not seem safe to me. Although the lady at our bank, said it was safer to use a Credit card than it was to use a debit card. She said the CC company would back a person up.

Tomorrow I'm going to a few thrift stores and a church bizarre with friends from high school. I'm not in the market for anything specific but I like to look. It's just so hot it's hard to do anything.

I don't have anything planned for the weekend, but come on down anyway..you can go with us when we go on a one day road trip next week. We will go to Tennessee by way of a ferry ride. Then to a town called Union City. Then perhaps to the area around Reelfoot Lake. Just a nice short drive really. And perhaps some food. We have a few places we like. It would be nice to have company.
That sounds like a fun time, Sheri. Have some fun for me !!!

I watered a few things first thing this early this morning and walked through a spider web and had baby spiders in my hair. Never thought I'd be thankful for the humidity but because of the humidity my hair was frizzed out like a kabookie woman so there was no way the baby spiders could tunnel through the top layer and I was able to shake them all out before they ate what's left of my brain. Ewww and gross.
It was 106° yesterday. The metal on my seat belk was so hot I could barely touch it to buckle up.
Junie have you seen the old, old movie The Outlaw Josey Wales with Clint Eastwood? Great movie. He went on what he called a Missouri boat ride.

106 plus spiders...time to move.😝
I think I have watched every Clint Eastwood western there was, love them. His newer movies aren't too bad either. Million dollar baby was good.

There was a time when I was single, I took watched every Clint Eastwood movie there was. But I do not remember seeing "The Outlaw Josie Wales". I will have to find it and see if I have seen it already.
Yes it is so hot here as well. Some days on the triple digits, and then most heat indexes in the triple digits. I should be getting up early in the mornings to water as well.

Yes, Sunny, it is a wonderful feeling indeed. Now to find a place to storey potatoes so I can dig up the rest of them.LOL........and so Heidi can plant her fall veggies when they sprout. Your plants will be fine, Sheri. I just water either every other day or sometimes every 3 days Thing is it has been so hot this summer I do not go out anymore than I have to. Have I mentioned that the rabbits have really been enjoying my coneflowers. I will not be planting anymore flowers in the ground, I will use 15 gallon or larger pots from now on. If you remember, last year a squirrel ate everyone of my sweet potato vines that were in a pot on the front porch. That will not happen again either. This year I have artificial flowers in the pot on the front porch. I know the animals have to live too, but I am not feeding them.

Your coneflowers should come back, are they the perennial variety?? Critters can cause a mess, especially where you don't want it to be. Is your basement cool enough to store your potatoes?

Yes, they are perennial, but as they didn't get more than flower heads, I assume they will not come back. Last years coneflower did not come back, so these probably won't either. Even if they freeze out, I will plant one or 2 in a pot next year. Yes, I will put the dry potatoes in the basement. But I first need to make a place for them. I wish I had kept my bread carrier. It was perfect for air circulation on the potatoes..

Here coneflowers are considered biennials which is weird to me because if they drop seeds and said seeds germinate I think they should be new plants but what do I know. Finally got a lot of rain last night and a little bit today. Yippee.

Enjoy your rain Bestofour. Coneflowers multiply like crazy here...especially the pink ones.
With all this heat and humidity, I have hair that won't straighten no matter how hard I try. It has been a curly summer.

Coneflowers would multiply here too if the "critters" were not so hungry.
My hair is so thin, I have little hope no matter how you look at it.

Glad you got to enjoy some nicer weather. Hopefully there will be more in your future
"They" say tomorrow the horrid temps are over. We will hope that normal temps prevail for the rest of the summer. I am hopeful it works out like that.

Grasshoppers...have you ever read Little house on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder ?? It is from the 1800's as I recall. They would have droves & droves of grasshoppers come and eat entire fields clean. For you to see such big grasshoppers now is scary.

Yes, I remember her saying how the sound of the grasshoppers drove them nearly crazy. I honestly never seen them that big in my life. I have seen two so far...and I could not catch them. Last year, I seen hornworms for the first time ever in my life, I have not seen any since.
Today was so windy that I took the time to wash all the windows. The heat isn't so hard to deal with when the wind is cooling you down.

I hate grasshoppers. They give me the creeps. Thankfully I don't have a lot of them but they will destroy a plant in a minute.
Thankfully we've gotten some rain the last several evenings. I'm so happy about it. It's been soooooooo dry. It's still hot and humid but at least it's not dry and things don't look dead.
Sunny what are you baking? Do you have a recipe for rolls that are NOT sourdough. I don't like sourdough.

My 20yr old push mower gave out this week, the frame busted...I should be glad for dead grass. The new ones are more plastic then steel. I am hoping to buy a second hand, older style one. Wish me luck.

I wish you luck. The older are made better anyway.
If I am remembering correctly, Rod is using the mower that his dad bought for our oldest to cut his grass with. She was 15 and he said she needed a self propelled mower so she did not have to work so hard. She is now 45. It works great yet to this day.

Sunny, regular dinner rolls.
We've had rain every day for several days so I had my grass cut today because it had sprung back to life.

I just make my regular rolls with what I do for my basic bread, just half the amount....sad part is that I'd have to make them to measure the amounts, I just use a handful of this with a squirt or pinch of that. 🙄

My grandma cooked like that. She made 5 loaves of bread at a time. And while she had tons of recipes (wish I had some of them) when it came it bread, after feeding 10 kids and my grandfather and herself, she had that recipe down pat. Thanks for the reminder. Her bread was wonderful.
Another day of having the grandkids over.

I learned watching my grandmother. My daughter got me to measure things for her, she has the recipes in a book. I mowed the weeds yesterday, it's the only thing that's growing.

Well good for you, your DD, and eventually your GG. I am thinking my Aunt Mag's children (there are 4) might have some of her recipes. She would come and spend the weekend. Dad & mom would drive her home. She would take back like 5 or more brown paper grocery bags that lined up all the floor of the back seat. They were all covered over with towels so we would not see what she was taking home. I bet she could have taken some recipes. I know she took all of Grandmas big old antique crocks. She had them to be abke to cook for her big family.
Ah well at least it did not take long to mow then, right ???

We've had lots of rain and cooler temps and my garden has come back to life and is flourishing.
If you come across a good recipe for regular rolls let me know.

We are dry here, dangerously dry. They are fighting uncontrolled fires in our province. We are an hour's drive from the worst of it with triple digit temps ahead and no rain in the forecast. I am going to star hauling water from the brook across the road for my garden....I am worried to drain my well.
Feast or famine, it seems.
