Ok, ladies....I typed in 30....auto correct posted 40..sorry. Very little thawing to happen here. And yes, Sheri, the weather IS all messed up. We are having our second polar vortex come this way in a bit.. I am not sure if we will be getting more snow/ice or just continued polar temps. There is no good choice there.
I agree about the woodpeckers, Sheri. That is horrible to think of.
I made a small batch of lemon bars for Rodney. So at least we will have them for dessert tonight.

It took me 3 times yesterday to post. For me, I have to think about our unusual cold weather we are having, since I only started really having this severe posting problem since we are having this icy weather this last week.

Went to church, then to the gym, then came home and made chocolate chip cookies and ate a LOT. Oh well. Tomorrows another day.

You could make brownie cookies, those would be easier to eat..not that we need easier....I must find the brownie recipe that my youngest made up when she was in upper grade school..they were actually good.
And besides. As much as you do around the house. I would think that would constitute a days workout...

Good gosh, I am the biggest I have ever been in my life...I just keep gaining for no reason. If I made anything with brownies....I'd have to eat them all. Brownies are my weakness.

Weight wise I have the same problem. When I was a sweet young thing. I remember weighing myself at 127 and thought there was just no use and I was just going to be fat. Lord. I would be thrilled with 160. This getting older is not for sissys. It seems I look at food and gain weight.

Same here, I thought 136 pounds was the end of it all after I had my daughter. I just couldn't break that barrier....now that would be a dream.🤔

I've been eating these chocolate chip cookies all day and I don't even like them anymore but I can't seem to stop. I'm meeting friends for lunch tomorrow and I'm really going to try and not eat much at all. I'm miserable at this point.

I know where you are coming from, but here is some advice. Order something good, eat as much of it that you want (or all of it) just consider it your evening meal, and eat a lunch portion in the evening.

I guess I'm the only one not getting snow this weekend. The southern part of the province but it is supposed to miss us.

Good cold morning. The wind is blowing the heat from one side of the house to the other. Thankfully with the electric meter in the living room and my house coat I am ok..
My kids all have school with my east coast grands & their mom, and my dd that is here all starting at 10 am. For us here that gives the freezing fog time to go away.

Yes, next week is supposed to be better. I just saw that it may even be 60 by Friday...but then, if it does, can you see all the snow melting, going on the DRY roads and freezing overnight ?? If it isn't one thing, it is another. I completely understand why people live in Florida... But then in this storm even that state is being affected.

Hopefully you will have a windy day with the rising temperatures, it will dry off the roads quicker.
The forecast is showing no snow for a week here, I don't believe it bit it is still a nice thought.
Off topic here, lately I finally understand the meaning of getting older. I have had three acquaintances from high school die in the past couple of days. Sickness is a b*tch.

Yes. About the classmates passing. Of late people younger than I am are passing...it makes one realize. And oh, we have a topic ? LOL
I have not been getting packages but then I am sure the postal workers don't want to get out at all the houses, walk on ice up to the house to leave packages. And on that topic, sorta, a guy came by with a scoop and blade the other day, as Rod had started to shovel the driveway. Remember our driveway is cleared off, so I am hoping the postal worker has seen that and will bring my packages. One can dream. But I guess I should be thankful my bills are being delivered.

Junie, I'm expecting a few packages too and keep getting notification that they will be here "tomorrow" but so far "tomorrow" keeps moving to "tomorrow". Bet they won't come today either because we are getting a soft, fluffy, Hallmark Channel kind of snow today and the blue birds and cardinals look beautiful against it sitting in the bare trees. It's too soft for snowman making but it's been coming down since about 7:30am and it's now 1:30pm. Ginger, who was not supposed to have anything but sunshine for the next few days sent me a video this morning of the snow falling at her house. They're never going to dig their way out. Yesterday at lunch I ate a pea salad and avocado toast. It was good and the company was great but I'm taking a break from that place. Here's a link https://www.acausefortea.org/ and it's in a lovely old southern mansion but it's very pricy and girly and I've been several times with different friends and just want to good ole hamburger Ladies, I look back at school group pictures we've taken over the years and I've had several classmates die, including Johnny. And so many of my classmates have had children die, including Johnny. One of the friends that was at lunch yesterday was sharing pictures of her son who died about 10 years ago at 31 from cancer. She has never done that before and I wonder if this beautiful snow made her remember something about him as he was growing up. She also had a husband commit suicide. I try not to complain because my life has been a cakewalk compared to others.

It is a fake, decorative goose that you put on your front step and dress it up in outfits. Some are concrete some are plastic. I seen it on Home Town with Ben and Erin Napier, I love that show. They film in Mississippi.
Can somebody talk me into going for a few groceries today?

Oh yes. Those. Many craft fair here have clothes for those geese. They are kinda cute. I just didn't know what they were called, so thanks.
So cold again this morning. But good news it will be in the 20's by noon.
Today we will be going to a birthday party for my DD's FIL. Good news there is that we only have to drive down the road 2 blocks to the schools gym.

Well it was nice, I guess. We talked to the birthday boy and his wife. Otherwise we just sat and talked to Valarie and the kids. When we went home, Cora came home with us, so I helped her make Valentine's coupons for her Brother and Dad. ( Why her sisters and mom didn't get any I do not know)
It was in the mid 20's,(F) today but the cold still went all thru us...I pray they are right about some bit warmer weather next week. I do not know how you do it, Sunny, as I am sure weather in the ,20's (F) would be a welcome site to you. It is really the wind chill with the temps that is the problem....it has the temps going right thru your body.

Junie, glad you had a nice time. Hard to believe it's already time to make valentines. I ended up with 8 inches of snow and Junie I know what you mean about cold. I think it's supposed to be 10° in the morning so I don't plan on going out at all. I did put out birdseed yesterday but they're gonna have to wait til it warms up a bit before I do that again. Last time I went to a pop up vendor thing I saw clothes for porch geese.

Wow, Sheri, that is a lot of snow for you, isn't it ?? That would be a lot of snow for me as well. Yes, please stay inside where it is dry and warm.....The birds will wait until it is safe for you to be out in this horrible cold.
And also thanks for the nice words on my day out. It was nice to be socializing after all this " very cold weather" we have had.
Lastly, I finally started getting deliveries again...Why I even got 3 packages on Sunday.

I've been eating this homemade bread so I really need to go to the gym but I don't want too because it's so cold. My road is clear but I'm not sure about the gym parking lot so I'm using that as my excuse to be lazy Maybe I'll decide to go later. Maybe not. I think eating this bread and the chocolate chip cookies I made the other day is making me feel sluggish so I very much need to go. But alas, I don't want to . Sunny do you wear sunglasses all the time because the brightness off this snow is something with which to deal. I don't know how you live with it all the time.

Our roads and most parts of the parking lots are clear, BUT it is above freezing today and I am thinking all of this snow will have to go somewhere in the next few days..and since the nights are going to go back below freezing I imagine any water on the roads or in the yards will freeze to ice.
Sheri, you should not worry about the gym until the weather warms up some. Then you can go to the gym extra and get yourself back to normal. For right now, get online and find some chair exercises to do. They will help, and you can do them in the warmth of the house.

Bestofour, we wear sunglasses if we are outdoors for any amount of time....over an hour. Be careful, if you are not used to the glare you can get snow blindness. Sometimes they forget to tell the foreign exchange students at the high school, then they are in pain for days.
Junie, this weather is really hanging on for you.

Yes. You are both right. Sunglasses in this snowy weather is a good idea. Finally this week is going to be warmer. Still below freezing at night. And possibly some rain later when it warms up above freezing today, or tonight.

I never even got the groundhog forecast yesterday. No matter, we always get 6 more weeks of Winter anyway. 😆 Yesterday I bought my carrot, beet and cucumber seeds. May as well have something to look forward to.😁

I went to the gym yesterday and ran into Coby and Aubry. The roads and parking lot was clear and today it's pouring rain so I went to old people Wednesday church at 11:00 and now I'm thinking of taking a nap. I'm like you Junie, and am wondering if all this water on the streets is going to freeze over night when it's supposed to be 30°. I'm supposed to go to Bible study tomorrow but maybe they will cancel it or zoom it. I'm going to plant petunias by seeds this year and see what happens.

Oh yes, please do let us know..I tried once and I guess I planted them too deep because they didn't come up. If your come up, I would love to know what you did and the brand please. I think planting them is a good way to do it.
Oh honey . don't skate to Bible study. There is always next time.

Be careful on your roads girls, it is clear here today. Yesterday we had an ice fog go through....it made the trees look so pretty.
I am going through my grandmothers old recipes and giving them a try. I have a chocolate loaf in the oven at the moment, it smells delicious.
