I put my garden in during the first week of June .... and had to replant it during the late second week of June after a killing frost on the one night we weren't home to cover anything up.

Here it is now, June 27th last night and I STILL had to cover tomatoes and cucumbers because of frost threat! This morning was only 3°C! Looks like it'll stay chilly for a while now.

Otherwise, peas are about 5" high, carrots and beets are about 2" high. I just spotted 2 potato plants last night after thinking the whole works was a writeoff. Tomatoes and peppers are coming along .... some after receiving major damage from the first frost and others after being replaced.

Don't know how good things will be this year.

All the best,
Tammie

Tammie, I know how you feel. The frost zapped my tomatoes a week and a half ago. My garden has never looked so bad. Now the rain is destroying everything.

My veggie garden is growing well, even better then last year. Just finished hoeing it and now I'm giving it a good water treatment. With the hot weather we're having lately, it's been growing very well.

Your gardens are beautiful!! Mine was good last year but I dropped the ball this year. Got busy working on the pond and the weeds snuck up on me! ARRGGG. I fertilized last year, not this year. Mulched last year, not this year. Next year I am back to fertilizer and mulch! But we have corn, peas, green beans and a few jalepeno's. Thank goodness by bil's garden is doing extremely well LOL.

Well the tomatoes are rippening in spite of the plants not having any leaves on them to speak of.

Out of 9 pepper plants I have one good sized pepper on one plant and two buds on another. Grrrrrrh.

The radishes grew well.

The onion something out in the garden likes onions and keep nibbling them down to the ground.

The chives are doing great. All the herbs are doing great.

I have LOTS of little itty bitty cukes and quite a few zucchini's/yellow squash as well (they are so cute lol). It is so exciting to go out each day and see how much they grow :) .

Several of my corn plants have tassels on them, I also have lots and lots of green tomatoes, a few bell peppers and jalepenos. My watermelon plant made a fabulous comeback and is vining out and will have a flower soon.

I am so loving this gardening stuff!

a bunch of my tomatoes are starting to orange-up lol. It's nice to see them rippening but it would be even nicer if the flavor had been sweet. Maybe it's my soil.

I've got lots of tomatoes hanging all green no colors yet.

My peppers are doing great, I've got orange, red, and green ones. Will be interesting to see them change colors.

I have lots of orange tomatoes but since I'm leaving tomorrow for a week I doubt they will make it. Maybe next year.

Tkhooper they just may make it even if you're gone. I've found that my peppers don't need a lot of water even in 100 degree heat.

I have flowers finally but no lumpy things yet.
No zucch's either. They got a late start tho with the first seeds I put in disappearing on me.
The pumpkins and other winter squash are doing ok tho'. It'll be fun to see what my mystery squash is. I had all my containers mapped out on paper. Then when I figured the seeds were too old or just not going to sprout I stuck a piece of sedum in the one pot. Have no idea what squash seed was in there, and pop there the plant. Hmmm butternut? Delicata? Pink banana? Acorn? We'll seeeee.

My cucs are blooming and so are the beans. I had a late start with them and with early frost times in our area I may not get too many off, so the blooms are looking good right now.

My beans are about an inch long but my green pepper plants are only blooming now so they are a loss.

Rosepetal, we had frost the first week in July here as well. My garden didn't have much of a chance this year.

The radishes are very thin and weakly. I think that 10 days I couldn't water is what has made them so small. Either that or I planted them to late. I understand they like to get some frost on them early in their growth.

The peppers are disappointing but I'm sure that's because of the leaf spot.

The chives are doing fine. I think they need some compost added to their area.

The egyptian onions are good I have no complaints there except that for some reason they didn't produce babies this year. They are splitting well though.

And that's it for my veggies this year. WEll I do have one romaine that is still holding on indoors but it is way to small to do anything with.

If it's not a frost that hits us, it's the bugs, I'm having a real time with bugs this year. Trying to grab any info' and help I can. My forum gardening friends have helped me so much this year already. Thanks lots everyone.

Sometimes you wonder why even bother with a garden and then you remember how much you love to plant it and watch it grow, then reap all the veggies. Then you know why we do it every year.
