lol wavy lol

Bargain shopping is a BIG hobby of mine...if it's not on sale I usually won't buy it....

Today I went to Peebles Dept. Store---sort of an upscale store like the Bon-Ton or JC Penny.

Well they had racks of stuff on clearance for $2.99!!!!

I got cargo pants for Cory for Christmas, regularly $45, 2 shirts for him, a shirt for my brother, pants for Athena, and shirt for her too!

Grand total of $18 something!!!!

I LOVE a good deal!!! I had a few Christmas presents already put back---about 10 things, but now consider me officially started. lol

as you know... my friend calls me "Miss 50% off"!!! lol thumbup
Lately I've even been finding some better values - what fun!

I can't wait for this Wednesday morning - my Wild Birds Unlimited store is having a sale - from 5-75% off! I'm going to be there before the doors open - I've never hit a sale there yet, and hope they have some good stuff like Diane found in her local store last year!

And nah, they don't come here! lol Just have to remember not to post what I get for mum now! lol

I do a lot of online shopping, if you find the right site at the right time you can find AMAZING deals! Last year I got about 20 things from Fashion Bugs online store. Fleece double layered shirts for $3.50 for my sis, nothing was over $5. The same stuff in my local fashion bug store was a lot more. That fleece shirt I got my sister a few of, well they were in the store for $29.99! shock

Well... the sale at Wild Birds Unlimited was a bust - BUT... I did find this cute birdbath/feeder at Christmas Tree Shops for only $3.99! I'm telling you... I should just camp out at that store - there is ALWAYS something good to buy for a VERY reasonable price!!!

It's about 6 inches across and came with a stake - I just love it!

Nothing to learn......TO bargain shop in my opinion, Is to get things on sale ....Usually when the season is over.. In our area, they sell stuff cheaper then, and Also if you watch the Stores like Big Lots.....THey receive the left over stuff from the large dept stores, at a cheaper price.

thumbup One thing I always do in any major store---I go straight to the clearance, I don't pass go or collect $200, just straight to the clearance. lol

There are a few tips I can think of......buy stuff after season. Like in the late winter/early spring I usually buy a ton of winter clothes for Christmas presents....or gardening stuff in the fall when they're trying to get rid of it. You may feel silly buying presents that early but when Winter comes around you're pretty darn proud of yourself.

I look for coupons for stores and for online shopping....you can find AWESOME online coupon codes....Last year I found one for King Size Direct....all mens big and tall stuff...well they had a gift section---and since I don't really know any big men I used the coupon on a coffeepot, cordless screwdriver kit, etc......twice! Once in my name and once with Marks. The coupon was spend $15.01 or more and get $15 off! So I spent $16 something on each order and just basically paid shipping. clap

loz,

Your correct.....I bought a set of dishes, :list: marked 50% off, and I thought it was a deal.. Couple weeks later it was at the Discount store, for another 50% off.. That sort of jiggle my chain.

Did you ever print the coupons on here, and use them in the stores? Don't know if they honor them at all..Do you?

Wowzer did I ever get a bargin! I was at my fav nursery the other day on my lunch break and they had some wrought Iron works on sale, Of course I passed it all by because even on sale this place is over the top expensive on items like this! An employee was outside and we started chatting ,,She asked me if I saw the sale( She knew I needed a wroughtiron garden arch / argor and this one even had a gate) and Of course I said yes but it was still too much for me.. She said again Nooo Look at it Diane ,, The prices had faded I guess from being outside .. the lowest one I saw was 250 the gated arbor had started at 479.00 even at 250 it was tooo much for me.
I was back at work when I got a phone call from the Nursery at work and she said they had lowered the price to 100.00 WOW I realllllly wanted it Butttt, wan't sure this was the time to spend 100$. I went back after work and reallly looked it over and tried to lift it and it was/ is heavy!!! I went to stand in line but there was only one cashier and there were 8 people in front of me,, I was tired , it was hot in there so I just walked out thinking IF i lose it I just lose it but consoled my self by thinking I wasn't planning on getting one untill next spring anyway,, ANYWAY.. I go home to check my email and what did I find ??????? A coupon for 50% off any one item including clearance at my nursery!!! Girlsssssss I hurried up and called them just as they were closing & they hadn't sold it yet And the manager comfirmed I can print out and use the coupon!! I picked it up to day!! A 479.99 gated /arbor I got it for 50$ okay 54$ with tax!! YIPEEEEEE After I got it home I discoverd It doesn't have to be an arbor either It can be unlatched at the top and opened up to be a divider or trellis Geeeeeez Life is good right now!!! LOL..

Okay so here it is!!! My 479.99 gated arbor for 54$!!!

Got another good deal!! A few weeks ago I went to Hobby Lobby and saw a lot of egg shaped and round glazed balls. They were on sale but I had limited funds. Knowing I wanted two of the egg shaped ones I hid them both in the store notme and went back today to see if I could still find them!! Welll I did find one that I hid clap the other one was found from someone else egadlol lol But that's okay ~ ORiginally they were ( this size) 19.99 When I hid them they were on sale for 6.99.When I went to pay for it It rang up 3.99 shock grin clap clap

Yipeeeeee That gave me a few dollars to go to a Fav' consignment store I go to!! That is where I found the Candleholder. The blue in it doesn't match the egg exactly but close enough for me!!!! thumbup it only cost $3.50 .
After That I ran in to walmart to get epsom salt and found the fairy for $3.00

For $10.50 I got all of this!!! clap clap thumbup

Thanks Barb!! There was two Angel statues with a lot of silk Ivy between them on display. A box was behind the Ivy Holding the Ivy in postition I just kindly replaced the Box with the egg!! It looked the same!! HAHAHAHHA
The other one I hid in the crafts section in a huge basket of pillow filler!!! I guess someone thought it would make a very uncomfortable lumpy pillow!!

I tell ya when your poor you learn to do what you have to do so your kids will have nice things!!

Yep Loz I bet your right~ We'd need a uhaul!!!!! LOL

My first day of good deals and I thought I should share. I bought some $55 Sketcher flip-flop sandal things for 6.59. And I bought the girls several shirts regularly 9.99 for 1.99, and a pair of Levi capri's regularly 36.00 for 4.19. Woohoo, apparently I'm not too old to learn something new!! Thanks ladies.

Sears. They are having their huge sales, in fact, all retail (Penny's, Dillards) do their summer clearout in July. Or so I'm told.

I'm always buying stuff too big for the girls next year. DH thinks it's "wasteful" but every summer he refuses to buy them new clothes because they are too expensive. lol

February is a good time to get deals on winter clothes in places like Penneys, I've found.

I think that February is the ultimate bargain time for shopping. IF you can find the sizes you need.

We have a small sears as well. But, I live in a small town the only department stores are sears, penny's, and dillards. Unless you consider our one walmart and one target.

Isn't someother outfit buying out Sears?////Ours been downsizing for about a year.........
Makes one angry what you buy this year , you cant get parts for it next year.. It is the way to make one buy everything yearly.

Well, well, well.....it's been a while since I posted in here---but guess what?

We went to Fashion Bug yesterday right?

I got a pair of Capri's that are so cute for $6.98 and then I got 2 pairs of flats for 4.98 each. Camo(but cute), and a green pair with gold charms on them.

I was happy with that. Then me and mom got home and we found out that we got coupons for there in the mail! Mom had spent about $65 and one of the coupons was if you spend $100 you got $40 off. So we went BACK to Fashion Bug so she could get a price adjustment....so she spent the same amount and got pants and a shirt for free basically. lol

I used my coupon I had and for $38 I got jeans that were normally $29.99, 3 pairs of drawstring knit pants for $5.14 each(normally $12.99), a purse for $3.19(normally 19.99), and 2 belts(normally 16 and 14 bucks). Not too shabby when you consider I got 4 new pairs of pants + the purse and belts. Woohooo....I love a good deal. And I needed new pants.

Oh and I got Athena a pair of shoes at Peebles for two something. Those little croc type shoes that are rubber with the holes in the front and the strap at the back......can't beat that!

If you town has it this store is a great place to find amazing deals on clothing and some home decor

Bealls outlet mondays if you are 60 or over you get a certain amount discount and on friday anyone under 60 gets a discount to and everyday most items are all marked down they even have things that are 95% of. I went their the other day got 2 pairs of desinger jean and thery were aroun 50 each on sale i got them both for 28.32 and their was nothing wrong with them at all.... Hey i have a question does anyone know why they have done away with size 32 in lentgh for mens jeans all i can find is 34 in legnth now and its starting to make me mad because i go barefoot alot and end up getting holes in them and it looks tacky to roll them up...

pleaseee... Betty Crocker aint got nothing on me =)

you can find 32, but they are hard. that is the most popular size. lately, i'll see maybe 3 pr of 32 length, then bunches of 30's and a few 34's.

lol We live an hour away from the malls, you'd go into shock living here. A trip to town only happens once a month.
