They are very easy to photograph. My son, who is not a birder, took this picture this weekend. Muscovys are originally from the Amazon River Basin in Brazil, but are very friendly with people, are supposedly the best duck there is to eat, and are so COOL looking with those red knots around their bills and eyes. The red knots, with the white and black plummage with hints of a green sheen, are the distinguishing characteristics of this species. They have been exported from Brazil to almost every country in the world. I have people in the U.K. and Australia send me pictures of Muscovys all the time, wondering what it is.
