Possibly a Quince bush. Does it have thorns?

It looks like a red single flowering quince.

red flowering quince bloom

Does this picture of the flower look like the one you have? I don't know if hummers like them or not.

Bettyboop,
Does it make any berries/fruit
or have you had it that long to know???

The reason I am asking is...
*and this is mostly for the Donna maybe...*

~~~>Is there another tree that would look like this
with out producing some kind of end product on
the flower??
I have a bush, looks something very similar,
but mine does not produce anything..
Just flowers....
*no fruits*
So, that's why I'm wonderin' if theres' something similar??
Weezie- I have one and it doesn't fruit either. I have only seen one dried quince on the bush and that is in 11 years. It blooms beautifully just doesn't fruit.
Weezie- The first picture is a quince( Red Flowering Quince - Chaenomeles speclosa) but the second I can't see the flowers or leaves clearly enough. From what I can tell it is possibly a quince too. Do you have a closer picture of the leaves and flowers?
Okay, the first one is what I didn't know what
the bush was..
*the second one is a flowering crab tree*
I never knew what that first one was....
But that will give Bettyboop what her tree/shrub
will look like in the future..
*There's a few more of both trees/shrubs' in my PB account
if you want to take a peak it it too*
Good then your mystery is solved. It is a flowering quince. grin
The crab apple threw me for a loop though. It looks similar (as best I can tell) to a Chaenomeles contorta
BTW I am so jealous of your lupines!
I'd be real careful about placement with that trumpet vine. They will climb all over anything that gets in their way--plants, trees, fences, buildings. They are very agressive.
Did you see how big mine is...
It's got to be 8ft wide, and 8ft high...
*but it is as long as we've been in this house,
it was already planted when we moved in,
so that was 13 years ago...*
It is absolutely gorgeous and stunning in the early summer
when it blooms.. after that... it has green leaves,
but a has a tinge of rust/burgandy color in the leaves..
when up close..
