My perennials are slowly popping through the ground, most are just up enough to notice but I'm excited all the same.

Today I got to plant some freesia bulbs that I got in a trade. Mixed colors so they should be really pretty when they bloom.

Hey Dodge, I understand how you feel. I think I'm past the last frost date for this year so I feel pretty good about planting them. But you some distance North of me so I think waiting another week won't hurt a bit.

I've never grown them before. Do you have an hints or tips for me about them?

Took a short trip out of town and came back with a SUV load lol, literally, of plants and items for my garden. Purchased another fountain (this one small) too. When I get a chance, I'll snap a few pics of the latest. Bought very large pots for my new plants as well so sometime this week, when I can get help, I'll be transplanting. flwr I'm so excited about my new plants. flwr

Stephanie - I want to see what you bought!

I was so looking foward to this long weekend, with my husband on the last 100 acres of planting, thought I'd get his muscles working around the yard for me, laying a patio, moving dirt, etc., but it rained all night and it's COLD. Only in the 50s. I've been in the house all day.

Well lets see I've added lilly of the valley to my garden and freesia. The sweet woodruff that I thought died last year is trying to make a come back. There are only a few sprigs but I have my hopes up.

Happily for me three of my sweet banana peppers are sprouting. So hopefully I'll have those out in the garden this year too.

I hope it isn't to late for them. But if we have a warm fall like last year I'll be fine.

Hooray for tk............
Success....

I notes my hardy plants and perennial are really beautiful this year.
My first Orange Ornamental Poppy from seeds bloomed today.
It has a huge center.......Bout the size of a half dollar.
First time for that one ..

My yellow Columbine showed up yesterday also.

We must remember , I am zone 5 and later than the others.

Yes Illinois--What is "penna"?? (sorry I do not know)

I am pretty sure I am in zone 6a. My plant is not real tall so I guess I should just be patient. notme

If I could I would share some of our rain---once again you almost have to have waders to walk into the very back of our yard!!

And I have been thinking of getting some of that Miracle grow (is it?) that you add to your water every time you water---perhpas that will help---
BTW: none of my perinnals (sp) are blooming yet. So perhpas as I said, I just need to be patient.

Pennsylvania ''''''state .

now if it is soggy wet, That may be there problem also.
Wet feet too long doesnt make plants happy.
Yes Miracle grow in a bag, you disolve in water.. tablespoon to 2 gallon or something.....I dont use it strong.

The only thing new in my garden is rain. And I'm very happy we got it. It will save me watering today and tomorrow. Woohoo lol.
