i highly doubt it but could it be a yellow water lily or the native yellow lotus?

I don't know what it is, except for pretty! Maybe some kind of bog plant that got flooded and it adapted?

just something interesting...bladderworts are on canadaian stamps! they have this pouch like mechanism like the jellyfish and they catch their prey, i've never seen one myself but they sure sound cool!
