I finally made that stew. Stephen didn't get home from work until almost 9:00, so it was a good thing that the stew is something easy! Tomorrow I was going to make a casserole, but I think we need to eat this past week's leftovers instead....the frig is FULL!
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 22nd, 2006 at 09:52 AM
We had Pizza and Wings...
*and Birthday cake*

I like leftovers for the kids,
they'll eat them when they get home
from school as a snack..

The wings were fab-u-licious! I had Ranch, Honey Mustard, Peppercorn Ranch, Sweet and Sour, and JD B-B-Q flavored wings. Yummers!
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 24th, 2006 at 09:56 AM
What? NO HOT!!!!!

They all sound tasty...

With all those flavors Jenn,
is it like a smorasborg or did everyone
at the table order a different taste/flavor???
Posted By: hisgal2 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 24th, 2006 at 07:39 PM
we usually order them by the half dozen and then pass them around....although we had 6 people at the table lastnight and had to re-order twice...but that's no big deal. Wings are larger than most place's and they are 25 cents each. So, 6 people ate for $40 buck last night...including 2 pitchers of beer and other drinks.

I don't like hot, but Stephen and our buddy Mark always get hot with a side of suicide sauce.
Posted By: chenno Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 24th, 2006 at 09:06 PM
Jenn, I love wings too:-) not the hot. is that the buffalo wild wings place? we go to the one here, it is sooo good:-)
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 24th, 2006 at 09:14 PM
Here's where they were invented... thumbup thumbup

The Anchor Bar in Buffalo, N.Y. Home of the Original Chicken Wings
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 24th, 2006 at 09:35 PM
Do the restaurants where you all are
have Chicken Fingers??
Posted By: hisgal2 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 25th, 2006 at 12:51 AM
Chenno....here wings are the thing. Just about every bar has 25 cent wings and there are some restaurants who do all you can eat wings for a price like $8.

Weezie, I do not think there is a single place here that doesn't have chicken fingers....well...tenders...whatever.
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 25th, 2006 at 03:00 AM
Those are what I like,
with plenty O'HOT wing sauce...
Oh yeahhhhhhh!!!

My mouth is just watering thinkin' of that
hot sauce.. yummy... we even douse our frenc
fries with the stuff...

I about fell over though when I looked at the price for over night delivery for chicken wings,
OMGGGGG!!! Outta control..
but I have talked with soooooo many people *and people who know people who have moved away and can not get a descent wing to save their life..
*and are sooooo disappointed when ther'es a sign on a restaurant sayin' "Buffalo Style Wings" and they eat them and they're like YUCKIE~POO~POO!!!

Nowwwwwwwww what do I want for dinner lala
Posted By: hisgal2 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 26th, 2006 at 10:15 AM
i can't wait until Monday....wings night again. laugh

Tonight we had leftovers from yesterday....chicken parm.
Posted By: tkhooper Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 26th, 2006 at 09:28 PM
I pulled out to chicken breasts for tonight. I'm thinking teriaki & mandrin Orange. With some fried rice and Maybe the brocoli. lol.

Here I am talking about dinner and I haven't fixed breakfast yet. I did manage to bust the toaster though. Or it busted itself. The timer has went on strike.
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 26th, 2006 at 09:48 PM
My toaster sets' off the smoke detector
EVERYTIME I make toast... :p
very annoying...
*and the toast isn't even burnt/burning..*
Posted By: hisgal2 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 27th, 2006 at 01:45 AM
weezie, do you have an overabundance of crumbs in the bottom of you toaster?? that's what causes our alarm to go off when i use ours.

Tonight for dinner we're having "Pot Mush"....sounds bad, but tastes good. I basically cut up cooked chicken, cook a bunch of egg noodles, then throw those all in the crockpot with a cam of cream of chicken, a little chicken broth, a diced onion, 1/2 green pepper, about a cup of chopped celery, some parmesan cheese, cheddar cheese, and cottage cheese.....mix it alllllll up so that all of the noodles have been covered in the "goo" and cook it on low alllll day long.
Posted By: tkhooper Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - October 27th, 2006 at 03:08 AM
That sounds wonderful.

I was thinking about chicken turnovers but I don't have any cream cheese. If I did I'd definitely be on it. But barring that teriaki is great. I still haven't had breakfast. But I did manage a bowl of homemade soup for lunch lol. It's one of those mixed up days.

Keep on Cookin'

Its Monday again....so its Wings night! I think I'll try to remember to take the camera and get some pictures tonight! We always go out with one of Stephen's co-workers...his name is Mark. His wife, Susannah, is from China....she and her daughter, Summer, just came only back in May....they are really nice. Last week was the first time that Summer came out with us. I had to chuckle...cause she ate her wings with a fork. laugh She eventually gave up and ate with her fingers tho.

Hi Dianna haven't seen you post in awhile. It's good to hear from you. Me I'm living on soup and other soft foods until my tooth stops giving me a major pain. Which reminds me I haven't had breakfast yet. Soft toast and cream of wheat. The toast is for dunking lol.

last night we had chili.....cause it was chilly outside! laugh Tonight we will probably have leftovers over rice...and if I have everything I need, I will make brownies for dessert.

Tomorrow I am not sure about tho. We have a couple friends coming over and I was going to just make something for the 4 of us for dinner, BUT we don't have a table anymore, so I kind of don't want to do that. But I dont' really want to go out for dinner either because going out on a Saturday evening is just craziness! Any ideas?
Posted By: tkhooper Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 04:16 AM
Baby Burgers around the ottoman? That's a tough one jenny. But definitely something that can be made inside a bun. I'll look forward to what you finally decide on.
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 05:05 AM
We had hamburgers, french style green beans,
creamed corn, baked beans and apple sauce for dinner last night..

Tonight, I've got stew on the stove top..
*stew meat, carrots, potatoes, and onion*
Simple and easy.. one pot..
w/bread and butter..

Tomorrow is FMN, and we usually get Pizza and Wings, but I am 'ankerin' for a cheese sub and fingers... we'll see though...

*Chili is on the menu for this week, got my Laura's Lean Beef and my red kidney beans this grocery shoppin' trip.. We serve ours over noodles.. I eat mine with bread and butter, but hubby likes the noodles.. *boys get ghoulash when we have chili, they're not too much into the spices of chili yet**

What about one of those taco dip thing like...
You have one pan, and layer the taco ingredients, and serve with taco chips..
can be on a plate and dip the chips as you sit...
No fork required and you still have one hand for the plates..

Have you ever seen those things they sell, that hold the plate for you, with the drink and silverware too... and you can hold it, and eat off of it??
Posted By: afgreyparrot Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 05:16 AM
Supper tonight for me and Lola is homemade chicken noodle soup...with carrots, potatoes, onions, chicken (of course) celery and noodles made from scratch.

YUM!

It's definitely soup weather here!

Hi Jen. wavey

How about some sort of Asian meal? You can eat on the floor. That would be fun!! clp
You can make some sort of stir fry and steam some rice. For an appetizer, you can always stop at a Chinese restaurant and pick up some fried wonton chips with a container of sweet and sour sauce. I have a GREAT recipe for a chk stir fry that is very easy and delicious!!

Cindy..you're dinner is what I've been craving all day! Mind if I come over? wink
I make homemade pasta as well. I have the pasta machine where you can make various shapes and sizes. Once you make fresh pasta, it's hard to go back to store bought.

Friday is pizza night at my house, I take fridays off:-)
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 06:22 AM
Christina,
Do they have a recipe for like, um, speciality pasta's.. like, we've found a box one that is like 42 carbs but only 5% digestable carbs..
*does that make sense?*

it's made by Dreamfields
Posted By: ChristinaC Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 06:28 AM
Weezie, I don't have a recipe for low-carb pasta...I wish!
I've heard of Dreamfields but have never tried it. Have you?
I don't eat a lot of carbs. When I make a pasta dish, I usually just eat the sauce. nutz I have at times used spaghetti squash instead of pasta and it was good...but I would like to know how these low carb pastas taste.
Posted By: weezie13 Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 07:06 AM
I love, love, lovveeeeee Dreamfields..
Doesn't taste annnnny different than regular pasta.. *maybe you cook it a wee~longer, unless you like an aldanti`(sp) pasta..
But there is no taste difference to me,
not one bit..

I use the spaghetti every week,
I also use the elbows, rotini and spirals and lasgna...
Posted By: Deborah L. Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 07:27 AM
I hope we have Dreamfields out here-I'm gonna look.
The only time I ever tried a low carb pasta, it was gross ! Chewy cardboard. :p

To me, it is just like regular pasta....

We did switch to a wheat pasta and although
it wasn't tooooooooo bad, when I found this stuff, I have not gone back to the wheat..

It is not exactly cheap though..$2.14 on sale,
for a 1lb box.. $2.69 regular price... eek eek
Posted By: ChristinaC Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 07:58 AM
Thanks Weezie. I think I'll give it a try. I know of one grocery store here in Sarnia that carries it. I don't go to that grocery store often as it's far too expensive for my budget but I'll make the trip. The bulk food store is next to it and I'm out of many spices so it'll be a worthwhile trip. thumbup
Posted By: Deborah L. Re: What's for dinner/supper?? #2... - November 4th, 2006 at 08:42 AM
Weezie, I didn't mean that Dreamfields was gross- I meant that it sounds good and I hope we have it out here.
