Uggg! The mobile home park that sits right behind mine and right behind my house has put 2 large dumpsters and now I am find the last bug I want around my leaf pile and compost pile-COCKROACHES!!!!!!! Help, please, what can I do before the nasty little buggers take control? I have already sprayed the outside of my home with Ortho Max Defense, but it is not seeming to deter the pests.

Try boric acid around the out side of your home to deter them from invading your home.

Call the health department and make them move the dumpsters.

Chances are the roaches are attracted to your compost pile, if the dumpsters were more palatable to them they'd be over there. Make sure your compost pile is either too hot for them or sealed well if it's an anaerobic pile. Roaches are everywhere. Make your place uninteresting to them by not leaving food out and they'll go away.
The secret is the soil.

definitely make sure your not putting any food stuffs in the compost pile.
We have storm drains underneath my garden area and there are thousands of cockroaches in them. And they are big mothers.
Definitely don't leave food out, empty the trash daily, rinse the dishes directly after use. And use baking soda down all your drains. Their sense of smell is much much better than ours.
If you don't have pets or small children you can also use the boric acid inside the home.
Just don't use the defoggers they use phermones that attract the roaches as well as the pesticide that kills them. And usually it attracts them for much longer than the pesticide kills them. I made that mistake. I won't do that again.
