Sheri that green scarf is knit. No pattern. I just cast on until it was about the width i wanted, did stockinette and added fringe. Thats made with the Bernat soft chunkeey SO SOFT!!!
Horse-Opoly is just like the traditional Monopoly game. I can check if theres a "for ages" whatever and up on it tomorrow.
Triss said you found a scarf in the store for mega bucks. That was crazy!
Lynne the purse is at my store for sale. Doesnt mean I wont gift it away at some point if it doesnt sell.
All the scarves are at the store too for sale. Dont tell on me but i usually cant stand having a scarf on!
Sheri, Monopoly, any kind, can be adapted for the lil ones. Just use the dice for a race around the board. Good for counting and basic addition. You can pass out cards to match the spots you land on. Save the money for a later age.

Lynne, I would have sooooo walked out of that store and left their yarn laying on the counter, AND told her 'you just lost my business with your attitude'!!!! I cannot tolerate sales people like that!!! I have NO patients (sp) at all!!!! (I hope I typed the right patients....I don't mean sick people )
I think the stitch is called a double but I am not for sure. (once over the hook and pull through twice)
triss, that is a double. once over, then pull through the hole, that gives you 3 on the hook. pull through 2, gives you 2 on the hook, pull through 2, and doing it again.
i can show it better than type it though.
wrennie, i LOVE that little purse, and the scarves. but i like mine wider than those. i crocheted me one that was about 8" wide, i'll post a pic later. i love it, i just did it in double crochet until it was long enough to suit me!
When it is cold enough here and Yes sometimes the wind blows hard here when it's cold Burrrrr I like the wider scarfes too so I can wrap it over my head and criss-cross around my neck twice and tuck it in my jacket, nothing worse then the cold wind cutting on your ears and making them burn!! Hey Jiffy We've got about a month too to wear one!
"Grace without perfection is more to be desired than perfection without grace."
Jiffy, I like this reason best...(but i wear them longer, just "cause") If they are long enough, I've even rolled my hands in the ends, if I have forgotten my gloves!!
Thanks for all the sympathy about my trip to JoAnn's all! I actually had to go back to that store yesterday, as I realized that I hadn't bought enough yarn for the scarf, since I'm making it a bit wider than I usually do - no biggie - I'm just glad they had a few of the same dye lot left!!! They had actually put out a bunch more, but all in a single other dye lot - PHEW!
Friday just was NOT a good day for me, all around, as I had mentioned on the previous page. Aside from not knowing where my daughter was for a few hours, and needing to get her packed and ready for her flight to Puerto Rico yesterday - can we say HURRICANE DEAN was nearby Puerto Rico and I was a NERVOUS WRECK??????? Sooooo... after having knit my new black with colored flecks sweaterback for most of Thursday and Friday, I ended up having to rip out the entire 12 inches long and 71 stitches wide piece at 2a.m.!!! You see... I had added a new skein of yarn, but even though it was from the same lot, the colors were much bushier, and the distance between the colors was much much longer than on the first skein, and the whole thing was messing up the look of the back piece! So... I tried just ripping out a few rows, 2 times, but because it is a boucle yarn, I could not get all the stitches back on the needles without some running all the way down several inches - WHAT A MESS!!! Therefore, the entire thing was FROGGED, and I am back to square one - minus that skein of yarn that I've put in another room not to be used for this project. I just hope I have enough now, as I bought all they had in the store.
The GOOD thing is... the bottom of the back piece was curling, as most stockinette pieces do, and I didn't know what I was going to do about that, so now I am starting over and can put a border on it with a different stitch to help hold it flat. Thank goodness there is a silver lining to all that aggravation on Friday!!!
I decided to start the pebbles scarf on the way to the airport yesterday, as I needed to get my mind off that sweater for a little bit, and since then, I've done 21 inches so far - I REALLY like the way the natural colors actually LOOK like pebbles in this yarn - thanks again, Wrennie, for mentioning it to us!
Can't wait to see your new yarn, Triss. Sorry you also had some frustration with your new project, but glad it's going better now.
Our Michaels doesn't have the pebbles yarn either - the only place I've seen it is JoAnn's. I am tempted to go back and buy a bunch more - it is so nice and warm on this very cold August day, and feels like a wonderful lap blanket as I am working on the scarf - I'm up to 41 inches long now. I just wish they would mark it down some more - the skeins are quite small at only about 50 yards in each. A blanket would be pretty expensive, even at the markdown price.
I just cannot get over how much it really looks like pebbles in the yarn - whoever designed it was very clever. Too bad it didn't catch on and is not being sold anymore, other than clearance.
Triss I can get you some wednesday if you want and if my JoAnns still has some $1.97 a skein, the scarf I made, 10 stitches wide in single crochet is about 6 feet long with 3 skeins.
my scarf, i said was 8-10 inches, is actually 10-12 i just did it till it felt right, (yes, i know how that sounded ) and it is about 4 feet long.
cindy you missed it
the veil was measured on her head with the dress on so i could get the length just right. i'll post a pic of her with it on. in the wedding section on another day.

I know Cindy would have loved that post Jiffy!! In fact, we all could have built a whole Coffeehouse around that!!
I had to go to NYC with my parents and sister yesterday, to take mom to a geriatric specialist doctor. Knowing how long the waiting would most likely be (and was!), I took along the scarf I've been working on this week. I had some time to kill while at my parents' house, so I took it out and started working on it. My mom loved the yarn right away. When dad came into the room, we asked him what he thought the yarn looked like all knit up - right away he said...
PEBBLES!!!
That's exactly what the yarn is called! (thanks again, Wrennie!!!)
Jiffy - your scarf and veil are very nice! It's so very special that you are putting all this work into the veil for your daughter - she will have this fond memory for the rest of her life!
i took pics of the quilt did last winter, the quilt blocks im working on, n the knitting im working on just gotta wait till i use up the film, n put em on cd ill post when i can
I did find it. Thank you Triss! I really like the looks of your scarf!
I will have to go into Jo Ann's to see if I can find the pebbles yarn. I like the scarf you made Wrennie. Can't wait to see what yours looks like Lynne!
Almost done with mine, but I think I'll let the recipient post pictures if she wants to - don't want to spoil it before she sees it first hand, ya know?
Can't wait to see what everyone is working on - we need MORE pictures everyone!
I've been practicing and ripping it back out again, Lynne. You don't want pictures. I haven't crocheted in years. I decided not to attempt a big project for my swappee. I need more practice.I am sending her/him something I made years ago when my hands still were agile. (and tough)

I have been reviewing, Lynne. I really haven't forgotten how to crochet. My hands need to remember how to work. I probably won't be able to in winter when my arthritis really kicks in. But I can now. I am not working out the kinks in the work so much as working out the kinks in my hands. I really like thread work. But it will be a while before I attempt any of that with these gnarled fingers. I don't want to rest them too much though because they will do nothing but get more crippled then. My hands are really good at pulling weeds.
