If money grew on trees we'd all be so rich since we're all good gardeners.
growing up that was dads fav. saying about "if money grew on trees".
Before mom gets home I want to get her a new house phone for her birthday (sept 3)....the kind like I have with 2 handsets, maybe even 3...that are a set and have an intercom. So I need to find that, and I need to find somewhere that has Christmas wrapping paper...I'm itching to wrap all the presents I have and I'm outta my roll of paper.
Loz: try the dollar Tree for paper.
I have a Panasonic 2 handset model 3 KX-TG5631 (I BELIEVE) I like it real well. They also have a 3 hand set model KX-TG5653 i also had a GE 2 handset i liked. good luck

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
I was in the dollar tree last friday and they didn't have any yet! Oh well, it won't be long before it's everywhere!
I'll check those phones out! We have a VTech 2 phone set that I've enjoyed having, not had any problems with them and the features are cool. I think the best thing about having a phone "set" is that you can intercom and call the other phone. With mom and dad getting older that would be great for them. If I got a 3 phone set she could put one in the basement, one on the main level, and one upstairs.
my good friend has a V-tech and she has been real happy with it.
Both of mine were gifts-- have you looked at wal-mart for paper---or are they still on "fall" If you need it right now--I can send you a roll--I have alot of extra for sure
several brand new rolls, too!!

Awww, thanks for the offer....I really truly appreciate that but I think I can wait.... I just get over excited and once I start wrapping I want to keep going and going and get it done. My family thinks I'm totally nuts. My 16 year old niece told me last night that she doesn't know anyone that gets so into Christmas as I do.
you tell her I do too!! Why else would i have so much wrap on hand??/ and i offered because i thought perhpas you wanted to give your mom the phone when she came home--you could always wrap with solid red or green & do a corrasponding bow. (sorry i cannot spell)

I'd love to help all of you shop....of course I love to shop, if shopping were an occupation I'd be at the top of all employees.
I'm glad others are thinking Christmas too....it really gets me excited. Dad has a cool pic somewhere of my opening my fav. present ever when I was little, when he gets back I might scan it and put it on here. I was the most excited kid you ever did see.
Walmarts garden center had one whole aisle of Christmas stuff out already. No wrapping paper though darn it. I hate seeing all the garden stuff disappear though.
My all time fav. present was when I was 8(I think) and I got my pound puppy. I LOVED Pound Puppies and I'd picked him out in the store....at the height of their popularity there were everywhere and the store we got him in had a huge long shelf that had been full of them. When we went there were only 2 left, a boxer looking one that I didn't like and a gray and brown one with long ears....I notice that he looked really sad but when I lifted his face up he had a hidden smile and that made me rescue him, he looked sad. That year Dad put him in the very bottom of my big present bag and I was so excited when I got him, he went everywhere with me and got cried on and told secrets too over the years....I still have him. Kids today wouldn't love a stuffed animal so much I guess....everything has to do stuff now, walk, talk or light up.
Every now and then I go on ebay and buy a few more original pound puppies from 85/86. For Athena to play with.
It's funny to think that I actually used to be a last minute shopper and like it....I don't know what I waw thinking back then. Although back then I didn't shop much--I bought everyone one or two things and that was it.
Pound Puppies---I wonder where my girls PP are?? hummmmmmmmm {Junie thinking}
I just bought my son's in law each a cook book--they are for grilling outdoors
Since we exchange names in my family I have less to prepare for too. it does simplify the holiday. But I still do my DH< kids, parents & the 2 young ones in the family. it is still a lot less to do though.

It seems like each year I have to add 2-3 names to the shopping list. If this keeps happening much longer I'll have to really cut back on things.
Cook books are great presents!!!! I have a couple of cooking/baking friends that I buy them for a lot.
Doing a little shopping today....one site is giving a really nice free jacket with any order...the other is giving a free phone with any order....have to take advantage of them.
Oh Tam...it's great. All kinds of coupon codes, free shipping, 20 percent off, free gifts with any purchase, etc.....I do a lot of mine online for Christmas.
