Just finished dividing my aechmea fasciata!!! clap Never thought I could do it, but managed to achieve this with the advice given to me on this forum. thumbup The babies are all happily ensconced (I hope) in their pots & sited beside the parent plant, as it appeared to be in a good position for it. Now, all I need to do, apart from keeping their cups filled, is to keep my fingers crossed. They looked very healthy when divided. Again, many, many thanks, it was much appreciated. wavy

Shall do - keep you posted that is. Didn't realise just how crowded it was in the pot until I repotted the parent & put the five (!!!!) babies into their new homes. Some were not too keen to leave home & made it a little hard to wrench them from their parent, but my trusty, sharp chef's knife did the deed eventually. My aechmea fasciata "Primera" (it's such a fancy name, isn't it?) & I thank you all, again.

Mother & offspring continue to do well. All look good in their individual pots, even the runt of the litter seems to be ok!!!
