I had 3 large Christmas cactus and 3 small last year. I got rid of 2 large to friends because my house was looking like a jungle. This year as always I put the ones I had outside for the summer.

It was a very dry summer here in New Hampshire and I guess our local squirrels and chipmunks got very thirsty! The ate all the cactus to the stem! Well I am glad they saved them from thirst and glad I don't have any cactus to bring inside.

My friend were surprised when I told them and are keeping a close eye on their cactus.

They have done a number on my gardens too. I don't expect to have any crocus's next spring and I think they ate the bulbs. Have wholes in the gardens where the crocus's were.
