Tristen does the same thing Loz! He says that he wants everything on TV. Well not everything. Last year he wanted everything and we started telling him that some of that stuff was for girls and now he only wants the things that aren't for girls! I actually don't pay much attention to it because if I did I would be buying him the whole store. I just listen to what he talks about wanting the most over the next couple of months. Most things he forgets about unless he really really wants it!
For Maxi I like to do a combination of things he asks for and things he never dreamed of.
I will tell the other adults in his life (his dad, his aunts) specific things he wants and sometimes if it is small, they will get it, and if it is big, they will help me get it.
A few years back close childhood friends of mine in NJ chipped in and bought him his big Yamaha keyboard and had it delivered when he was in school. When he was at his dad's for Christmas Eve, I had a friend help me set it up 'coz that thing is huge. We put big red bows on it.
when Maxi saw it on Christmas day he said "Oh Mommy, the elves were really smart to set that up for me because they knew you are in a chair and couldn't do it!"
The kid always has a splendid Christmas and I like to shop until I find the one item I know will take his breath away!

We were given two hands to hold, two eyes to see, two ears to listen & two legs to walk. But why were we given only one heart? The other heart was given to another for us to find.
Well, now that I've got the Hallowe'en treats bought, I can throw myself into Christmas shopping. I've started picking up dish cloths and such to make a basket up for my grandmother.
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
I did some christmas shoppin about a month ago, and again yesterday.. I see things family and friends like and Latch on to them.. I have a cedar chest that I pack with christmas.........ha ha
It is fun .. To do the unusual......
I found a green spinner for my sister ........She is a John Deere fan and It is green with a tractor.....She will love it .....PS>...........she doesnt read this.. ha ha ha
Yesterday I recieved 3 "Christmas Nails" that I ordered from a bible book store awhile back.--(If I was not able to find them, my DH was going to make 2 of them for me.) My brother bought me one several years back. After I made the girls their tree skirts, I went on a mission to get them their own Christmas Nails. This Christmas they will have them.
It is a spike on a red ribbon. Becasue of its weight it is to be hung on a sturdy branch of the Christmas tree close to the trunk. It is to help the family it belongs to remember Christ's death. A private devotion of sorts.
This Saturday, at my nephew's birthday party, my family will "do" our Christmas Exchange drawing--then I can begin THAT Christmas shopping.

First of all, yes your eyes do not deceive you---I have ugly carpeting and paneling upstairs. Hopefully after the bathroom is remodeled we'll tackle that issue. It's just my small spare bedroom that I use for my books and there is a twin bed in there.
But check it out! Athena calls this my "present room".
There are a few more piles out of view, on the bed and other places...all together now I'm up to 178 presents.
Not really Tamara, he gets excited as a kid on Christmas morning....he doesn't like to show it but he told me before how excited he gets.
He DID start saving money for Christmas all by himself this year....I was very surprised and proud of him! I have a Christmas account that I stick my change in thru the year--that helps me out a lot.
BTW, I'm nowhere near being done yet....A pic later into the season will show how much more will be there by the time I'm done.
I write down ideas throughout the year Barb...that way I'm not so stumped. And it's a lot of stuff but I'm a really GREAT bargain shopper....although I seem to be missing the internal switch that tells you to quit buying. It gives me great joy to give, especially to my parents and my niece.
Good girl..... I enjoy giving too , but both of our families have many kids and we cant give to all on both sides......We try not to favor sides. Theres probably about 60 neices nephews and great n/n my bro and sisters 5 his 7 ........all married so theres spouses.
no way I can do that without guilty feelings..
However we do give to all newborns, weddings and graduations.......That should cover.........
Wow Loz--I am in Awe--I bow down to your Christmas Spirit.
I REALLY need to get to wrapping mine as well--not that I have near so many as you do yet--but then I doubt if i ever will---BUT I do like to buy gifts for people. Like I tell the kids THAT is my Christmas.
FYI: We drew names for our family exchange last night.
--I got my sister which is good as I bought a margarita hummingbird feeder for her already.--Got it from Wrennie's shop--

yea--the fun--i agree tamara: Buying & giving is MY christmas.--I still buy for the girls (& now their hubbys) as if they were young and at home. each year i SAY i am going to a stocking & 1 or 2 "nice" gifts, but once i start--i am back to getting them a lot of gifts. Actually what I do is decide on what i am going to spend & then buy gifts until i reach that amount. Well, sometimes i go a bit over--and I do not count what I put in the stockings--well unless it is a piece of nice jewelry.
tamara: i ask the kids for lists to go off of--reminicient of when they circled things in the catalogs when they were small. That and I listen to them all thru the year like Loz does her family.
this year my girls are getting the yard ornaments they ask for last year & I could not find. Dollar General has them reasonable priced--& this year I will be ready---

I have a weird habit on christmas shopping.......I dont like to wrap till the last minute, because I forget what is in the bags.. Yes write it down alright......Maybe I just like to admire the catch alot.
Tamara, you don't want to know how much I've spent so far... Although it doesn't seem bad to me because I spread it out, I started shopping months and months ago....makes it easier. I keep my little book with my prices in it. It's interesting to look back to a few years ago and see what I bought.
It's not about how much is spent though. The giving is just the best part of the morning for me. It's in no way looking braggy about how much I bought a person--I just like putting smiles on faces. I love making everyone happy.
The other day Athena said---you have to send ALL of those to Santa!!!
