I might go out tomorrow and finish digging...I also want to see if I can get the fallen leaves so far to start my leaf compost pile

I've been collecting seeds. It's been kind of easy because everything has dried up due to the drought. One problems is that I can't tell what color the Hollyhocks were. I don't think they bloomed for long and I can't remember which was which.

Well it stopped raining so today I will re-edge the veggie bed, cut back the rest of the perennials and take a few pics of the trees changing colours. My garden season has completely had it, over again for another year.

I raked up about three treash cans worth of leaves...will bring out the lawn mower to cut the lawn and the leaves up to make leaf mulch/leaf mould
I want to finish digging the garden but I'll see...
I have to plant mint but I'm going to wait to find a bottomless pot to put it in. I planted two and wanted them to take off but they didn't and I forgot to put a barrier around those two

Well, I cut and chucked sod and made the veggie garden area 12 ft by 15 ft now(wish I had a small tiller). Also weeded out the strawberry bed but this year I am leaving the suckers run wild in it so I can remove and replant them in another bed in the spring.

well I finally did get outside and dug up my begonia to try and see how it does inside this winter. I also put my hanging pots in the garden shed as they are talking frost tonight here and then back to warm weather. Thought I might keep the hanging pots going as long as I can. Also picked peppers.

I am still trying to figure out a plan for the flower bed on the West side of the house. I have spray paint lines all over trying to figure out the shape of the bed

Went up to the church and cut down all the gardens except for the autumn joy and some tall phlox that was still blossoming. Took a couple shoots from the autumn joy to start new ones. resting now and maybe will get out in my yard later ths afternoon. Hopefully! Dodge wish I had apple trees, sounds so good. We do have local orchids where we can buy and will be getting some Thursday!

I have one apple on my tree Out of all the apple trees in the orchard there might of been a dozen apples. Too much rain and wind this year, they dropped their blossoms. Dodge, I can't do a kidney shape because I have to go against the house and incorporate a Weigela already on the side. Kind of a bad place because I can't go past the chimney or too close to the pave.

This is the west side. I need to start it a foot from the chimney, go under the window and go around the weigela. There is a little flower bed there but it needs to be enlarged to cover the whole area. Oh, and it gets mostly shade, I am amazed the weigela has thrived.

Why not just dig the bed under the window clear out to the drive and make the sides round just like you have it .........Make more room......

The ground near the pave always ends up getting scraped in the winter, so nothing will grow within a foot of the pave. I might continue it like you said though to the right of the weigela. Make almost a full bed, I have plenty of astilbes and hostas to be divided so I will have no trouble filling it in.

That sounds good....... I am making a new tulip bed .The other one was so wet all the tulip bulbs rotted. Jack digs them with his Payloader. 3 scoops and were done.
