Njoynit sent me an epi last spring because she knew I was in love with it's flower. She sent me a mature plant that she said should have bloomed this year. It didn't and I'm wondering what I am doing wrong. What conditions does an epi need to bloom? Thankyou for all your help with this problem.

I have it in a potting soil with a high bark content. I water it once a week on Saturday, It is in a clay pot. And it sits on my tv stand 8 feet in from an east facing window. But there is a CFS Bulb that I keep on all day at the other end of the stand that I keep my orchids and african violets under.

I cannot help much except what I have read. I just started growing them this year. To get flowers...

They like morning sun afternoon shade. I read on the Epi Forum to fertilize with bloom booster fertilizer Miracle Grow (10-52-10) April - Sept 1/2 recommended strength every two weeks and a 10-10-10 fertilzer winter once anth.

Do what you can where you are with what you have.

Sometimes plants will get set back when they have been uprooted and mailed. It may just take some extra time to adjust to the move. I had a hoya do this.

If that happens again this year I hope the Epi will forgive me. Two moves in two years sounds stressful for the plant.
