I love Christmas cards. They're so pretty. The grandones and I play with them all year long. We cut out santas and snowmen from them and make other pictures. It's great.
Cards mean a lot to me---I keep them, seriously I have about 18 years of cards here in my house....one day I'll have just a room full of cards. I think I should get rid of some maybe huh?
I keep them too. If I think they're unusually pretty I put them out the next year too. I have a few baskets around that I sit by the fireplace that I put the cards in. Everyone that comes over always looks at the cards. I sit a few new ones around the house. Notice this year. Everyone who comes to your house will look at your cards.
Let's freak your family out this year. I'm going to sign mine Priscilla Pressley.
My husband sent me a fax to work one time and signed it Eric Clapton. I told everyone I know him. Some people still believe it. It caused quite a stir.
Loz, I had to laugh at your keeping cards- I have over 40 yrs worth of cards- some are real treasures to me- from my passed on Grandma's and Aunts... I put the special ones out too. my hubby thinks I am nuts but oh well- if that's nuts then I will be glad to be nuts... Nana
I keep cards and put them out again and again. I love looking at them. And your right visitors love to look at them too. The year before last explaining the purple glove was a bit of an adventure since it was a church elder who asked about it but it was still fun.
That's also why I put out the thankyou cards and other things that I receive during the year. They are great conversation starters.
If I have any jewish friends on here, they better make themselves know..
Could we get or are we gonna get some info to tell us if a person christian, jewish or perhpas is not religeous but likes Santa Claus????---I would really feel odd sending a christian card to the wrong person---
I had not thought of that until tonight when I read Barb's post---

I never thought about it either. I always think of it as a holiday season no matter where a person is coming from so I send a card. I've never had anyone tell me to my face that they've been offended. I have an antheist friend who knows that we believe differently and he always has Christmas cards taped to a door frame. He says they're pretty and he loves the decorations.
I am not religious but I don't care what kinds of cards I get from my forum family. Even though my beliefs may not be the same as yours, I still appreciate whatever sentiment is in (or on) the card because it meant something to you when you picked those cards.

I think that is an excellent way to look at it---
however---FYI: I am Lutheran--but I like ALL types of Christmas cards!!!

Looks like this activity got "overthought" a bit lol. I've always found that the people that sign up here send great cards and I've never had a complaint about the cards I have sent.
This is an act of love and friendship and should be viewed as such.
what's the count up to? inquiring mind needs to know! i can;t believe how fast the days are racing by to the holidays! i actually did christmas shopping this weekend in between shoe stores
