It has snowed here every single day this week, but hasn't stayed. It comes, covers the grass and then leaves again. Well, lastnight it started snowing again and there was easily an inch on the ground by the time we went to bed. It is STILL snowing and there is nearly 4 inches on the ground now! I'm soooooooo happy! I just love the snow. And tomorrow I'm baking goodies for Thanksgiving and I LOVE baking when there is snow on the ground! AND tomorrow is the start of bear season so Stephen should be able to find some good prints in the snow.
No snow here yet, but I'm over it in about an hour, Loz. I wish I was a kid again, I loved it then..............before I had to shovel and drive and bundle everyone up and buy new coats and boots. Did I say

I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the snow!!! :)
as long as it makes you happy, Jenn---

Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain!! .....
Well don't feel pregnant, cause Our snow left also......We will get more. Our weather man doesn't know a thing.......He is from canada, but I think only because they asked him to Leave up there.
Stillllllll snowing! There is a good 8 inches out there. We had to go down the mountain for Awana clubs and there wasn't much down there, but coming up we could tell there was alot more. The elevation of where we live is 1966 feet. To give you an idea of how dramatic our elevation is to the next town over.....their elevation is 950 feet. There is a huge hill that we have to go up and right in the middle of the hill is the "line" where the snow goes from not to bad to really bad. Anyways, Cindy.........ummm.......you live in Washington now....it snows there in the mountains. Maybe we should have Bill teach you how to drive in the snow. Might be a good idea to learn that since you'll be getting more than 2 inches at a time. ;) Can't wait to see how much we have tomorrow! :) :) :)
Glad you are excited about the snow Jenn!! The first snowfall is always fun and pretty but I am like Loz.....I am over it after about a month. After Christmas it can all just go away and I would be happy! I like it when we get a big storm too! It is fun!! I like to get snowed in! It isn't any fun to drive in though!
We are used to driving in it. Everyone up here has 4 wheel drive which is great in snow. You just have to make sure there isn't any ice because nothing will help you on ice. We see alot of people who don't know how to drive in the snow zip past us on the way down the mountain and then they end up sliding off the road on a curve.
Grand total is 8" of snow. I took some pictures of the front and back so I'll post them in a little while. Right now I have my computer uploading pictures to Winkflash so I can have prints made (50 for free with the coupon code that they provide on their website!). Anyways, more about that in another thread later. :)
Dad was just telling me today that somewhere in PA had a foot of snow....probably close by you Jenn.
Everyone here has to have 4 wheel drive too, not really from just the snow--front wheel drive can work okay if it isn't too bad....but because of all the hills and mountains....Mark used to have a rear wheel drive Thunderbird which he called his "summer" car.
Well, I didn't hear how much snow the Pocono area got....they are more north east of us and a really big skiing area....they get more snow than us normally. We just tend to get the snow up here because of our altitude.
I'm happy for you for getting snow and that it makes you happy. But I really hope we don't really get any this year. We usually don't get much and if we do it doesn't last for more than a day or two, but if it snow's that means it's going to be colder than usual and I don't do well in cold weather.
We need snow, it gets so cold here that pipes and septics will freeze with no snow on the ground. Don't think Cindy would want to visit here in February
~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.
Sure but you'd have to sleep on Joey's top bunk, and you'd have to fight 5 other people for bathroom time. Just make sure you beat Joey to the bathroom or you'll be waiting a while.
Cindy, just remember: cold weather equals fewer bugs! :) the cold weather kills them while they are sleeping. In most places in Alaska that are NOT near the water, the houses don't even have screens because there aren't many bugs at all!!! My kind of place!
It rained today, so alot of the snow is gone. It was soooo foggy here all day long because of the rain. Supposed to warm up the rest of the week, so I think all of the snow will be gone by the time we get home on Sunday (going away for Thanksgiving).
I don't know much about spiders......other than the fact that if you spray a mixture of 1 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup Dawn liquid soap, and 1 tsp vanilla extract around the house, they won't be there anymore.
We don't have alot of spiders here. We see the occasional cob web, but not many spiders. Although once a REALLY scary one came out of the sink drain after I brushed my teeth!!! I screamed and Stephen's mom came and took care of it. Ick!!
