A Gardeners Forum Forums General Discussion The Banter Hall I need to learn how to sit now and stay there!!

Okay I know I'm always saying what I do and how tired it makes me.. But I just always see something that needs done,, And I don't do things 1/2 A$$ ... I take things on with a passion to completion,,,, Even Dwight has to tell me "Why don't you sit down somewhere?? " ,,,,<- OHHHHHHHHH WELL

Because Dede My DIL bought us the LCD TV yesterday,, LOVE IT!!!






We no longer had use for the TV Entertainment center Cabinet,, so I took it to the garage.
Now I can't just take it to the garage Ohhhhhhhhh NOOOOOOO,, First I had to clean out My side which was full of gardening things,, soils, completed compost, sheep manure (composted) and other Soil amendments,, bag and bags, and rubber-maid tubs of stuff,, from sands to fertilizers,,.. after I pulled everything away from the wall,, I sorted and Mixed up different kinds of soils for different kinds of potting needs,, I.E. cactus and succulent,, and Pitcher plants,, Etc,, THENNNNNNNNN I pushed the Cabinet against the wall .
I pretty much stored things as a First need( Seasonal) bases to least need. (Thinking of early spring first, ).
So as of today I have Buckets of soil(s) ready for repotting and planting come the break of spring,, and a place to over winter plants , start new plants, and keep house plants, that will go back out in early spring,. I even talked Dwight into running a Vent from the heater into the garage,, and Weather strip the garage doors,, ( HE put in a very small vent but enough that the garage would be heated at least 62 degrees even it falls below 10 degrees outside,, )

Of course I had to incorporate some Willys into my work day , It just wouldn't be right not to have some out there with the plants,,


So here is my work of the day,, Took almost 5 hours,, I didn't even know I was out there that long,, until Dwight Stuck his head out there and said 'I GUESS I have to cook us something seeing how your out there playing,, "" <-- OPPPPPPPPPPS .. So he walks over to the deep freeze and pulls out a Red Baron Pizza~

The TV cabinet is done,,BUT ,,,, ,,

Tomarrow ,, Welll,,, there is another cabinet(Cubby Hole Type unit),, That I will use for more outside plant for the winter,, ( Dwight is really liking the idea now that he realized the house won't be filled full of plants as in the years previous over the winter :wink: )

ANyway This is what I did today..

TV Cabinet Filled , and ready for early spring



Brugs Quickly Cut off during snow and sleet NOt previously forcasted,,
and are now blooming off the cutting,,

That looks good, Diane. Is there light there for growing. Or just for storing dormant plants?

Thanks Tina!! ~~~~~ No grow lights, but there are two garage doors ,both have 4 windows each so they will get all day light. What ever plants require more light will be closest to the doors!





They Village "People" ??? DANGGGGGGGGG Now I have YYYYYYYY MCA ~ Y MCAAAAAA Ringing in my head,,! !!Not all the Willy Village Shirls ~~ I may put a few more out tomarrow But the rest will be inside,I may switch them out mid winter <~~ This is an equal opportunity house!

Yep Lynne plenty of parking room ! More room now then before for sure,,!! I do sometimes get carried away with projects,, 5 hours went by sooooo quick!

will all those brug cuttings root? At one time I thought you didnt' have any brugs. Did I make that up?

Sure they will root Sheri NO BRUGS??? ME???? I started the brug topic in the old forum when I got starts from Njoynit last fall,,
I still have to cut them down to the ground and cover them,, I will have lots and lots and lots of starts,, Want some?? They do root easy in water then transfer to soil until spring and plant outside!~

I told someone I'd send them a start off mine. I thought it was you. Guess not. Someone's gonna be mad.

Sheri I was looking for a Dr. Suess Brug,,, because I don't have any of them ,, IF that is what you have then YES I want a start off it!,,

Nope sitting down and staying put is NOT one of them Shirls ,, That's why I rarley go out to the Movies, it has me sitting tooooooooo long!,

When we go to CH next year we need to take Cindy some beautiful balloons to fill for her lawnchair....NOT!!!!!

Your brugs pictures are always so great. It makes me want one but, sadly, not in my apartment!!!

Only the small BIrd cage is hanging in there and still blooming Vinca's The larger one I will set up differently next year,, I'm thinking on Layering it Bottom layer many a blooming vine,, middle layer thing thick in growth that will cascade some what and the top layer somthing that growth straight up and continuesly blooms but all three have to have same water and light requirements ,, so That will give me something to do this winter,, RESEARCH!!<<

WHo knows I may scrap that ^ idea and something else with it,,

I have been waiting forever for the seed pods to turn brown on the purple datura's Some of them, have been green for over 2 months!!

I know that whatever you do with the birdcage will be beautiful! I loved the pictures you had posted of them. (I copied and kept them!! )

Shirley I waterbleached out the Cubbyhole Unit and Cleaned the rest of the Willy's and made comfy places for them the be all together over the winter,, !

i LOVED the village people, even though my brother said they were gay. so what, they had good harmony and catchy songs that all sounded the same, so all you had to do was mumble and you knew the words
