i can't remember what we called it, but lynne had one too. it's in the house for the winter now, this was taken about 2 weeks ago, right before i brought it in. i let my last one freeze, how do i over winter this one in the house? lynne?? help!
I'd treat it like any other succulent in house over winter,, ,, slight infrequent waterings and indirect sun probably southern exposure,, I place all miy succulents in southern light indoors, And I've never had a problem,, I have one simular to that one,, the edges of the leaves get redder with more sun exposure indoors but have placed in dappled sun out doors in spring and summer,

it was in full morning sun outside, but by 2 is in the shade. it's in the house in the only window i have right now. northern/north eastern light. but lots of it.
i'll post a pic of my garden tub... literally. i put all my plants in my bathtub (i have a separate shower stall) because there is a full length north window and full length north east window (it sits in a corner) and 2 mirrors. best light in the house the pencil cactus is in the tub with the rest
JIffy - mine was called a Flapjack succulent, and I still have my original, plus a baby in the same pot. (unfortunately they got some sort of bug over the summer indoors which attacked several leaves, but it's still hanging in there hopefully for a complete recovery!)
Diane gave you GREAT advice as to how to overwinter it indoors - good luck!
Diane - my pencil cactus did not ever take root. I'd looooooooooooove some more if you're offering?
