I've gotten some catalogues and I meant to ask last year but I forgot to...why are seeds so expensive (in my opinion) I wouldn't mind spending a few bucks on seeds but sometimes I think it's a bit overpriced. Things double click cosmos I can understand because they're so new and just came out last year (I think?) but stuff like datura seeds seem to be expensive. $4 for a packet of 10...am I being a conscious consumer or has stinginess taken the best of me? I'm just curious what do you guys think...

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee
I don't buy seeds often but when I do they don't seem too expensive to me. Maybe it has to do with the difference in currency? Plus my grocery store usually has coupons for buy 2 get one free. Sorry I couldn't be of more help but next time I'm at the store I'll pay more attention to the prices just to see.
Unless I special order seeds I either swap or get them pretty cheap at Walmart.....Are the catalogs you are looking at just catering to Canada? Maybe it's a Canadian thing them being much more expensive?
Well, the catalogues are canada based companies, like veseys and stokes. parks i got too but it's all about the same. like clivia seeds, $19 for 2 from parks (i think) oh well, i guess it may be the currency
