I don't think mine are that tall really But the leaves are getting really big the one in the ground looks like it's having a time getting adjusted to the transfer but so far so good it's hanging in there

Hey Diane,
I'm thinkin I may need to transplant again and soon huh? They sure seem to like it outside reaching for that great sun!

Here's a look

[Linked Image]

As you can see, they are so very small. I guess I got midgets :)

The pots appear large in this pic, but they are only 4 inch pots and one is 6 inch pot. I got a close up.

I didn't transfer mine untill the 'underleaves' started to turn Yellow,, Comfrey told me it was probably because it was getting root bound,, as they get long roots quickly!! Lift your pots up and look at the drain hole, if you can see roots then it's probably time to go to the Next size.. On my last transfer I went to a plastic container~ Don't know if it made a difference BUt I didn't have to water as often~ being outside.
It took a couple of weeks before I really saw a difference in the leaf growth but when it happened it realllly happened!! LOLOL

My second batch of seeds are all still standing! And starting to grow their 2nd set of leaves. Not sure what I did wrong the first time, but they seem to be doing okay this time around.

My plants aren't doing so "wonder"ful. They are still little, tiny things, though I did put them outside this week hoping they would grow. I had to bring them in tonight though, because we have a cold front coming through...

[Linked Image]

I can't understand why they aren't growing. I planted them, Jim hooked me up with a "grow" light, and I repotted. They still haven't gotten over two inches tall....

My plants (that have survived me, so far) are in plastic pots, Diane. I just don't know what else to do for them...

Maybe I need to repot into a bigger container again? I am so afraid that I will end up drowning the four that are hanging on still...

Hey, just decided to read this topic.
Mine are getting really big!! (WISH I had a camera!!) but not a sign of a flower bud!!! But they are growing good!!

I have five, and the largest is 9" from the dirt to the top.
All of mine have the spike coming out at the base of every leaf. Who was it that had flower buds, way back?
They've never shown any more pictures!!!!
That spike is at the place where her flower buds came out.
I would really like to see more pictures of hers.

Was it Wrennie? Weezie? Comfry? Can't remember. I'm sure one of you will.

Mine are continuing to do well. I may need to transplant them soon. I don't see any roots coming out the bottom of that pot yet. I'll try and get some pics up this weekend. Not sure about that though, I have a very busy week starting tomorrow.

I had mine in a four inch pot Dianna and the leaves started turning yellow and not growing Comfrey told me I probably needed to go to a six inch because the roots are so long , when I took out of the pot yep the roots were very long and I went to a six inch plastic and like I said earlier it just took off after that! thumbup
I never actually saw any roots coming out of the bottom I just went by the sympthoms detailed By comfreys notes. At least it has worked for her and for me! SHe just noted yellowing lower leaves and not growing time to change out pots

Good news I did have one egg by Easter. Here is an update on what my plant looks like...It is root bound and roots coming out of bottom of the pot and I am afraid to transplant it at this point.

I had put my plant outdoors, but the weather has turned cold, so I had to bring it back indoors.

Wow, Comfrey! That is one healthy-looking plant!

Diane, I will try to repot mine into a six inch pot and see if that will help. Thanks for the help...

Beverly,
That is fantastic! clap Was wondering if you would see an egg or two on your plant by Easter! Hooray, hooray. thumbup

Here's an update on mine.
A few days ago, we had a cold snap. I was helping a friend in distress and had forgotten to take mine inside.

Here's what I came home to find. I hurrily (is that a word?) still needing spell check, grin brought them back inside to my window sill.

[Linked Image]

I couldn't believe it, after nursing these babies since 12-19-06. tears

[Linked Image]

I immediately gave them lukewarm water, then after a few mintues, here's what I saw.

[Linked Image]

Yeah, they are back, the poor little things. I'll be sure to pay more attention to them. We will have warmer weather mid week so I'll take them back outside. Second chance! blush rolz

Wow Stephanie...that is great that your plants revived after warm water, you must have caught them just in time!!!!

I showed my plant to hubby after I posted my picture and he pointed out to me that there are 3 more eggs on my plant...they are very small right now, and more will not be coming until it warms back up so I can put it back outdoors. Apparently it needs pollination in order to produce eggs which of course it doesn't get indoor. Hubby agreed that I should just break the pot and set the whole thing into a larger pot...It just scares me as I don't want to lose the only plant I have.

Wow Comfrey, thanks for posting those pics. I was wondering. Those are so wonderful!! And an Egg!!!!!
I haven't even gotten a flower bud. Also, just now, I read that they have to be outdoors to get pollenated, before they will have an egg!!!!! So I've wasted all my time, waiting for flowers so I can have an egg??!!!
