I would like to bring my hanging baskets inside for the winter and save them
for next year. If I keep them under a plant light and keep them watered will they flower again next spring when I put them back on the patio?

Hello and welcome! I don't know for sure, but don't think the annuals will make it through the winter. Why don't you try to save some of the seeds and start up again in early spring. I am trying to keep my rosemary plant growing indoors this winter. It would die outside here in NY so I have dug it up and am keeping it in my dining room where it gets a lot of sun.

My grandmother uses houseplants in her baskets, that way she can enjoy them all year long. Annuals will eventually die out.

most plants that are annual in one place are perennial in others. but, even perennials die back for the winter. so, what you want to do is mimic the native environment.

i really need some help with my petunia, i live in florida we hae nice hot weather down here but i recently bought petuias at the store and and they were perfect i planted them in pots, in good potting soil but now some of the leaves on the purple one are really wilting do you think i over watered it or what i have them under neeth a light to try and perk them up and i put out in the sun so if you all can help please do so!

Welcome Toposh. Are you pinching off the spent blooms? When you do that you can take a little bit of the 'branch' that they are on as well. Petunias can live over here in S. Cal but need a lot of extra sun and pinching back to keep them from getting leggy. Some transplant shock can also occur after being moved. But over all your plant actually looks pretty healthy.

Thank you for you help i had another one it was purple but it just wilted and got mushy it seemed and i took it out of the other pot this morning but i read online that i need to give it breaks between lights because for the last 2 days ive had them in sunlight then under a lamp giving them light at night but only the purple petunias leaves are doing this the pink i have next to it is perfectly fine nice firm leaves I did put a fertilizing stick next to em, do you thing i got them to close to the roots?

I honestly don't know. 'wilted and mushy' sounds like too much water maybe. I live in semi-desert and too much water is almost never a problem that I have. I even have a jade plant in a pot without a drainage hole. It is under a roof and when the rain does blow in far enough to fill the pot, I just turn it on it's side so it won't drown.

with your help ifigured out what was wrong and I was watering them too much I figured out when i need to water them heres a pic of one and how great it is doing now! And thank you for your help once again!
