I have a string of bananas plant that has been growing well in length, but drying out and shriveling at the top. Should I be nipping the buds at the ends?

i'm not sure. are you talking about the succulent string of bananas that has miniature banana shaped green leaves? if so, we'll move this to the cactus & succulent section where you will get a better answer.

maybe the soil type...or not enough humidity.mine don't do that.I kept it shaded in bright light later part of summer and we get hot,but watered it daily. You have yours indoors now where as mine is in GH.My GH has high humidty most the time not lower than 63%.Maybe get a larger size saucer fill with gravel(fishtank gravel) and set the plant in it with water in the gravel it would increase the humidity.mines in a peat based soil mix.mines bloomed too.
