We love spaghetti around here, Carol, but are very fussy about it. I just did a typo and typed "fuzzy" instead of "fussy". If I'd have left that alone, you wouldda thought I'd lost my mind!

When I get very thin cut pork chops, I make a giant casserole in my big roasting pan. Line the bottom with chops. Add a layer of thinly sliced potatoes, onions, mushrooms and cheese. Another layer of chops. Another layer of the vegetables. Slam the lid on it and let 'er bake.

Maxi got a very cool book for Christmas from my sister and her husband. They gave him "The Boy's Book of Knots" and it teaches all about rope and knotting for various uses. I am going to get him some smooth macrame cord for him to practice with because rope can burn beginner's too easily.

I think I will like learning more about knots, too.

that casserole sounds good merme--I'll have to get a bigger pkg of chops & try it some time--writting it down after I get done here--

again, Thanks

That book sounds like a great present for Maxi; He should get hours of entertainment from it--and learn a lot along the way as well. clap

Knot tying has always interested Maxi, and he learned how to crochet last year and can do a chain. This book also makes recommendations about which knots to use in various applications, so it is handy.

If you try that casserole, Carol, let me know what you thought of it. My guests adore it.

I need to figure out dinner--we just went shopping yesterday but I have no clue what to make. Hmmmm.....I might just deep fry some chicken tenders and have chicken sandwiches with tomato, lettuce, cheese, and ranch. And then deep fry some fries to go with it! Healthy eater that I am! lol

I should've bought some chops, I totally forget about pork chops because I rarely make them. I buy a lot of hamburg and chicken, and Mark buys a lot of steaks. He is the steak cooker so I let him pick them out.

Dinner tonight is easy. I am making hamburgers and fried taters. Lot's of cholesterol. Salads to tone it down a bit.

That sounds good to me Tina! One of my fav. things is a big hamburger grilled on the BBQ. If I lived close I'd be inviting myself to dinner at a lot of your homes! haha

I'm not cranking up the BBQ. To much wind out there. But I am making giant burgers. With mushrooms for mine.

OOOOOOO, I LOVE mushrooms! :ding: them!!!!!! YUM, you are making me half starving right about now! lol

Half the time I go out to eat I end up with a cheeseburger....even at the nicer places. I could so go for a Fungus Amongus Burger from Bubbas.

Hi Lynne ~ I didn't see you come in when I was typing. I dislike nights such as you describe... it seems a LOT of effort to cook basically for oneself when others aren't up to much. Maxi and I end up doing a lot of soup that way.

Loz ~ I'm with you on the burgers, especially if there are mushrooms involved!

I can never get enough mushrooms to eat and Maxi hates the things. But then again, he is allergic to mushroom spores one encounters around mushroom houses, so maybe his taste is just telling him to keep away?

Lynne, that's a good night that I'd tell everyone it was an MYO night. Make your own! lol

Ummmm, nothing better than mushrooms. Half of my family loves them, half hate them! Thankfully Mark loves them or we'd have issues as I tend to throw them in a lot of things I make. Now if only I could make him like peas! lol

I started buying myself the tiny cans so I can make some more myself now and then.

I am also the only pea eater here. Unless they are straight off the bush. They are nature's candy then.

Mark is so picky with them, he picks them out of anything they are in! I just don't understand how a person can dislike peas! I mean he eats everything else, brussels sprouts, corn, just about everything.

I'm weird though, I put ketchup on my peas. lol I know, strange right?

Ketchup on your peas, loz? I haven't heard of that, but um, it would probably be similar to eating them with tomatoes, and that is a good combination. Something else to try, I see! I love peas.

Well we have these Englishy type meals....Eggs, chips, and peas....And I eat ketchup with my eggs and chips and I guess one day it got on my peas and I liked it! lol A stand in for peas is beans. If Mark is eating with us at moms it's Eggs, chips, and beans. Baked beans are pretty traditional to have with breakfast.

Well... I was wondering if I was invisible again there for a while...

I, too, like mushrooms, but do NOT like portobello or the fancy Chinese types.

Amy will not go near them - won't even look at them - spazzes out!!!
And my father is allergic to them - for the longest time I just thought he didn't like them, and a few years ago my mom told me he's allergic!

I've got 1 more part of this knitting project to do, and then it will be ready for the recipient.

wavy I had a good dinner tonight Deep fried catfish nuggets,, baked sweet potato, and cold pea salad ( Finally ate the last of that Pea salad from the other day),, but it went perfect with the fish,, I season the fish and the corn bread batter with lots of cajun seasoning so it's pretty spicy and the cold pea salad was just what it needed,, so from now on when I fry fish CPsalad will be my side dish,, I will post the cold pea salad in reciepes in a few minutes..

OHHHH Loz BTW I like Peas with ketchup on them too if some happened to get on them when I use ketchup for something else on my plate,, anddd I like to mix peas up with my mashed potato's when I have them both on my plate too why I have no idea when it that started But I've always done that.. notme

No way, another one of us that likes ketchup on peas! lol That's too funny, I thought I was the only one out there!

I can't do Catfish.....to make a long story short we bought some once and it smelled like the sewer--it was horrible....I know something is bad when Mark even refuses it because that man eats ANYTHING...I'm the one saying something is bad and he's the one eating it saying, nah--this tastes fine to me.

So that turned me off it forever. Yours sounds like it was good though!

I guess I should hit the basement one more time before bed.....I think I'm on my 12th load of laundry in 3 days.

All caught up...I think. We are in the middle of another nasty snowstorm, about a foot in total. You can't see a thing out there. They cancelled school again.

DD had a doctor's appointment at 4:40~don't think that will happen today.

Well the further into the spring we get the less likely it is to happen-

and even if it does snow that day, hopefully there is a better chance it will not be the type that will cause you problems.

Rain is supposed to be good luck on a wedding day--so if it snowsa a bit --there is yur rain--it wil just be frozen a bit-- lol thumbup

going to go now & get ready to leave for the day---catch you all later--- wavy wavy
