 Hey Bird lovers galore......... Today Hubby came from shopping .Guess what he bought me? A Hummingbire d 2008 Calendar.. By RobertA. Tyrell and Ester.........Tyrell is a memeber of the American Ornithologists Union and is represented internationall by OXford Scientific Films of Oxford, Englad, the most prestigious association of high speed photographers and scientific writers in the world........... ANd the hummers are gorgouse...... I took a photo of one with my cameera, but arent sure if I am allowed to show it on here?????? Anyone know???????? Wow are they nice ......The hummers in the Orientals are so pretty. b...................I had a nice day..

There are close to a hundred or more species of Hummers in the New World. We only get one or two species east of the Mississippi River.

 Here is the 12 places the photos are from. Jamaica mexico california.........4 from there Grenada Martinique cuba bahamas calif new york I was tickled that HD remembered me with such a pretty calendar.. Birds. Your fault I am in birds and cameras..LOL  Seen something whitish bird this morning and was too late to get it .. Wait till spring........my sisters yard is full of birds, rabbits and squirrels. Her prides. Sure helps beat the winter blues here. b

I have only seen the Ruby throated hummer here in NH. Birds in Blooms always has nice photos of hummers. Have fun Dodge with that camera. waiting for spring to get outside and start shooting again

 Last year we followed the migration map so faithfully, thanks to Thorn, THen it came time and I was so absorbed in gardening, I forgot to hunt them. It was a quick year for us......TOo quick. Just can't wait to watch the dang robin steal my berries......I will shoot it..H ha ha( Canon of course) Keep us up on it folks.......Somehow your own birds make a difference.. Ask Cindy????????? b

I wish my town got hummingbirds! I love them my great grandma in indiana she gets like 40 of them to her 4 feeders almost everyday. i know my town probably has them but theres not many trees, only palms.... and i havent seen any

Salvia divinorum? arent they trying to make it illegal? I know angels trumpet is growing to be a big problem in our state alot of kids are smoking it and drinking it to try and get high and alot of them are dieing, some teenagesr sure do stupid things...

They WILL come! They also LOVE my red Cannas.

ok thank yall ill do that i just dont want to get to involved in my yard right now, i do have some plants but not as many as i would like... were renting right now in the process of buying a house the deall fell through on one we were looking at we finally decided it wasnt right for us the house was to small... but were looking...

I had red zinnias in pots a couple of years ago that the hummers just swarmed.

Being in Florida, you should get your first hummers sometime in March. For the last two years, the first reported hummer was in Baton Rouge, LA on or about February 27.

Hummers even visit my florist sunflowers........

ok ill do that, yea were looking to buy a house in live oak florida or around mayo florida somewhere in the country with some acerage. i knows heres alot of humminbirds there... but in the mean time ill plant some red plants! thanks!
