So I was wondering the other day if any of you still had any toys from your childhood, something that was really special to you that you've kept over the years? A teddy bear, or blanket, or any toy at all.

I don't have much from when I was very young, seems like toys always get thrown out or given away as you get older---things break or get gross, etc....

BUT, I do still have my favorite Pound Puppy Ruff! I've had him since I was 7 years old! He's been washed, and stitched up....I've cried on him, I've hugged him! I told him secrets when I was little!

I'll have him forever! :ding: My dad still has a bear from when he was about 2 years old. Grandfather Growler Sir. He's in rough shape but when you turn him over you can still hear him give a little growl. Dad's kept that bear 75 years now! thumbup

Cool Cindy, is he in storage right now? Or is he at your parents house?

I picked Ruff out myself. When they first came out and were crazy popular I wanted one so bad. So we went to this store called Hecks and they had a HUGE, LONG shelf for the pound puppies. Well it was totally empty except for 2 of them. A boxer, and Ruff.

Well Ruff looked so sad....I mean doesn't he look sad? Well if you lift up his face he has a smile, but you can't see it unless you lift his face up...That sold me on him! A sad, but secretly happy dog. Yeah I'm weird. lol

I always liked stuffed animals way more than dolls. Mom has a picture of me in my crib when I was little and I'm literally totally surrounded by stuffed animals. My brother says it's his favorite picture of me.

At night I'd give them all turns under my covers since they wouldn't all fit. Didn't want them to get cold ya know? haha

Your dog got a name Cindy?

I have a lot of misc dolls and stuffed animals. Brennan has inherited most the stuffed animals. But, I have 2 dolls that are the very most special. I have them packed up for safety. I couldn't stand if anything happened to either one. One is an original Cabbage Patch Kid. He is one that was actually hand made in Georgia with the cloth head and hand signed on the butt by Xavier Roberts. His name is Haywin Solomon. The other is a Cabbage Patch Kid with the plastic head that came out at the stores. Her name is Ardel April. Mommy got her for me during the huge frenzy of the dolls when you couldn't hardly get them. I was so excited because I didn't think there was anyway in the world she could get one for me for Christmas that year. I wasn't even expecting or hoping to get one because they were so hard to come by. She still won't tell me to this day how she got it.

lol I really did Tamara! lol

Rachel that's so cool that you have a handmade, handsigned one! thumbup I bet it's worth a small fortune huh? I was never into Cabbage Patch dolls much but my friend was and she had about 20 of them that we'd play with all the time.

It's hard to say how your mom got you that doll, nothing would surprise me! haha notme

Oh, I had one of those dolls. I remember my father getting teased about how he waited in line for 3 hours and fought to grab one. Her name was Cecile Hazel. I lost all my childhood things in a housefire, but I remember that doll fondly.

Poison rocks--I still listen to their greatest hits CD!!!!! Brett Michaels is on that Rock of Love 2, on VH1. I watched the first one and I'm watching the new one. I used to :ding: him! In my 8th grade journal we had to write what 3 things we'd take on a desert island, and one of my things was Brett Michaels! haha I also really liked the drummer from Guns-n-roses....Steven Adler.

I didn't get to meet Bret, but I did see the rest of the guys in Poison. I was completely obsessed with the guitar player C.C. Deville. After one of the concerts Mommy got us around to the back of the arena where their tour bus was parked. We waited for hours in the middle of the night to see them come out. When C.C. came out I freaked. I was crying like a little baby. He got on the bus and the drummer Rikki Rocket came out. I guess he felt sorry for me since I was crying uncontrollably. He leaned over and kissed me on the cheek. blush We were over 2 hours from home. The whole way there I was in shock just holding my cheek.

Wow Rachel, lucky you! C.C. and Brett were my favorites!!!! I was never much into Rikki or Bobby......I wouldn't have minded a kiss from Rikki though, and I probably wouldn't have wanted to wash my cheek for days! lol Since we're about the same age we probably liked a lot of the same stuff from back then! thumbup

I had an original Tiny tears doll--for years--my grandma & grandpa bought her for me--it was a very special gift---but over time mom would clean & things would go missing---I kept her--then she lost an arm--still kept her we moved when I was 6--she went into a damp cellar & when I went to take her when I left home, she was all moldy--so I do not have any toys that I can think of---
