We transplanted a portion of our Aglaonema to water after the stalk broke. It eventually grew roots and then we thought of the idea to put it in a clear vase with "rocks" and now it's our center piece for our table. It's nick named Bunnicula because of the white stalk.
So far there hasn't been any issue and it keeps growing, but I have no idea what I'm doing and just wanted to see if anyone had advice as to what could go horribly wrong. Like stem rot, etc.
Any advice?

I would leave it exactly the way it is. It's lovely. Starting in the spring, I'd give it really weak fertilizer, about 1/10 strength about every other month. After about a week, change it out and replace it with water.

I doubt if it rots. It has water roots as opposed to soil roots.

Is the green algae or is it the plant roots starting to turn green? If it's algae, I'm not too sure if it is good for it.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant. Mary Ann LaPensee

Sounds like a plan.

Yeah, the roots are green, it's not algae. Never thought about it, but I guess they're not usually green because they don't get sunlight. hhhmm...
