One of my bamboo palms is looking kind of bare. The leaves are fine, not turning colors or falling off or anything but some the trunks/stems have dried up and look like they've rotted. When I cut them down they were all dry and dusty and hollow. Some of them pulled right out of the soil and were black and soggy. I looked around on the plant and there doesn't seem to be anything on the leaves at all but it looked like there was some mold on the top of the soil and there were these pod things that at first I thought looked like little gray rocks but they were soft. I cut off all the dead stems and trimmed off any dead leaves and cleaned up the top of the soil the best I could. Any ideas on what's wrong with my plant? I'd really like to save it. I have one other bamboo palm and it looks fine, bushy and healthy.
