Carol, you have to sign up to a photo storage first. We use photobucket, flickr....Then you just upload to there than copy and paste here.

Great pics of your yard Toposh.

Is the grey ground from clay? We don't have clay here.

Great pictures. I don't know what the plants are but someone will show up with that info. I think sandy soil is good. I have red clay and everyone says to "add sand." I'll bet no one ever says "add clay."

Well yes and now believe it or not this sandy soil here actually does hold alot of water becuase when you dig down a ways it will be really moist... Ive only watred 2wice since ive put the things in and thats good.... and today it rained so im mad because i did water yesterday so i hope they don't get too muchh.... but yea its sandy soild, not clay just the top of the dirst gets dry and looks clumpy like rocks beneath it stays moist.... Then in a couple weeks when i take the plants from their try and plant them outside ill put mulch or rocks around them all, but i don't know so much with the rocks if ahurricane comes i dont want them to fly around and go through peoples windows and hurt someone.... so i think ill go with mulch...

You have gone beyond the call of duty......Boy the red mulch is awesome.. Bet it cost a bundle..
Do you put weed guard under that?

YOur doing great..........Your smart to plant away from the grass.
Question now......How do you cut out the shapes of the beds? I do them with a shovel, but yours is veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy accurate.

WOw.

Thanks for all the photos.

dodge the best thing to use for cutting out shapes i learned is using a axe! just throw it in the ground and drag it like u would a plow! also i learned this from my dad take a hose and make the shape u wante and just dig behind the hose or take the hose and spray paint where it was then dig it up.. But i like the axe... And thank you so much! i did not put weed guard under neeth it because when i pulled up the grass i went pretty deep and pulled everything up... and put a fertilizer down from mircle grow hat has weed preventer in it but u cant use it around seeds so i only done it in the front... the red mulch we got is timberline brand eucolyptus... all together for like 15 bags of muclch, fertilizer, rose bush tulips, and some other things it all came out to be like 120 dollars... But the red mulch does last and keep its colr weell my gramma uses it... im just glad i didnt have to pay for it! haha... oh doge i sent those things out today

Very nicely done, Scott!

I just love plumbago - I finally had to let mine go this fall - I just didn't have room to bring in the 2 large pots anymore - I had overwintered them indoors the past 3 winters. The blue of the flowers is sooooooooooooooo pretty, isn't it?

The red mulch really sets the gardens off - very nice.
Just a little fact... the man across the street from us manufactures red mulch! He is doing quite well in the business - also owns a landscaping company. He winters in Florida and summers up here in NY. His gardeners are at his house 3 times a week in the warmer months here - they have a very nice piece of property.

And... all of his trucks have bumper stickers on them that say...

GOT MULCH?

Some of the trucks even have that painted largely on the sides.
Guess he knew a good thing when he saw it, huh?

yea he did! hey maybe if u ask him hell give u a discount on the mulch? im so sorry bout ur plumbago they are gorgeous! when we move im taking mine with me no matter how much i have to dig! If i had money to hire gardeners i wouldn't i like the satisfaction of doing it myself and taking care of it, but he does have a business to run... but still... yes i agree about setting the colors off.. i was going to put regular mulch down i bout some and i compared it.. good thing i only put it in one lil area i just covered it up with the red...

I feel the same way, Scott - I have to get my hands into the soil and plant the plants myself - there's so much satisfaction in seeing them take off and grow in all their splendor.
