I was just wondering what you all wanted to buy this year for your yard/garden?
I think I might add a waterfall to my pond, and maybe make a path going around it......I need to fix the grade of the land at the back of the pond because it's built up like a damn and the winter weather has wore it down just a tad.
I wouldn't mind getting a small bistro chair and table set for the the concrete pad near the bottom of my back stairs....I'll also probably get some new solar lights, because I think one can never have too many of them.
well on my to get list is: graph paper to draw out more digging, a lil seed planter for tiny seeds, some new pots i dont like the terricotta pots anymore, some fencing, bird feeder or bird bath, my grandmas water fountain lol, rose bush, more trelis's, a car, a job, my permit, and someone to organzie where im planting all these darn seeds because im getting overwhelemed with like 15 diff seeds.... and more!
pleaseee... Betty Crocker aint got nothing on me =)
well today I saw a heavy resin welcome sign. The rectangular welcome sign had 3 frogs hanging over the top of it. so Cute, but I thought I should not be spending the $$$ just because of cute. Currently I have a welcome stone on my front porch, so another sign is not really necessary.
I will be needing some more garden soil so I can increase the size of my new flower bed out in back--- Then I think I will need some skinny trellis's to put up in back of a few of the flowers/bushettes I plan on putting in there.
Also, I Need a new big garden pot to put on the deck--I think I'm gonna first plant spinach in it Then when that is spent I am thinking I will plant flowers (perhaps a double daturna--what ya think Diane?)
and last but not least, I may have to replace a few of the poor excuses for bushes that I planted last year. I ordered these and both of them came at about 6 inch heights. I was not pleased.

Scott, thanks for the advice---as it happens I know about the return policy.
Funny you should mention Michigan Bulb--- I got both bushes (a Blue Mist & a 3-in-1 Butterfly bush) both from Michigan Bulb. Both just said Potted--& so I assumed they would be bigger--my misunderstanding----if they both live then I will just have to be patient.--if not--I will just go out & buy a new Butterfly bush and replace the Blue Mist with a blue Hydrangea--(like DH wants) That will be easier on me---

The story, (not wanting to hijack) John was napping in his old hammock on the porch. I kept hearing a strange popping sound and was getting closer and closer to pinning it's location down. All of a sudden the old rope on the hammock gave a final "POP!" and down he came. He gave me the dirtiest look and all I could do was laugh myself to tears. I didn't cut the rope, honest! It was the rope slowly giving up the ghost that was making the noise I was trying to pin down. But I was hovering right there when it woke him so rudely.

I need to get material and recover my patio chairs, since a bird decided to use the stuffing for nesting.
The only other things I am adding this year to my garden will be 'bleeding hearts', they don't divide well so I need to just add more.
Hmmm, but I do need to replace the shrubs that DH mowed over with the blower the other day.....
Most of my gardening and re-arranging will have to wait til fall this year anyway so ya better post pics so I can enjoy all of you gardening. And of course little extras just manage to jump in shopping carts all the time.

please don't do too much too soon (I know you like to work)
I was released in July of last year after my first surgery. I was told I could go back to my regular schedule.
so I increase thngs little by little as advised.
By the first part of October I had herniated the incision.--so don't get a false feeling of security.--DH is still reaching in the washer & dryer for me. also, I put things IN the oven--he is the one to take them out. (I don't do much reaching down or pulling up)

I love the trellis Loz! That will make a nice addition to your yard. And the dog for the pond is very cute! I'm sure Athena will get a kick out of that and you can't beat the price!!
See the birdbath down near the bottom of the yard? I'm going to center that trellis there in front of the big gates.....Mark won't let me put a flowerbed there in case he ever needs to pull the truck up into the yard.....so the trellis will be great there because I can move it if I have to. I think it will be a nice focal point....with morning glories covering it.
And yeah, the dog was just too cute and too cheap to pass up.
I'd like three or four pre-planted strawberry jars planted with several different herbs. I know the jars are hard to water but I love them ! I miss the ones I got mad at and gave away !
I hope there is room for all of this list lol. I got loan approval, now I just have to find the place. Assuming I'll be starting from scratch on top of clay which is most of the soil in virginia lol. My list is:
Gardening tools. Chicken Manure to go on top of the cardboard I already have. Grass and leaves to finish off the raised bed. 1x4 for the "raised bed" Copper tape and iron nails for the slug barricade. Next rent a small earth mover to make my pond and build up a dirt barrier around the skirt of the trailer for insulation. Solar Pump for the pond to keep the water moving and keep the mosquitos from breeding in it. 4 or 6 Thuja 'Green Giant' evergreen trees to shade the trailer.
And then as money permits the fruit trees, bushes, canes and vines. That will probably take several years but that's the plan.
Oh, very nice Loz. I can't believe how good the sales are on that site...if I only had a credit card
We have debit cards....that way we aren't running up bills. Still gets me into trouble though.
Good list you have there Tammy, I bought 4 Thuja a few years ago on clearance for $3 each.
I need a truckload of soil this spring to add to the back of the pond.....Mark built the retaining wall on too steep of a grade and it needs to be leveled out more gradually.
Tell me more about the Thuja do they really grow as fast as is reported. 3 feet a year I read somewhere. That's want I want a fast growing everygreen. Did you plant yours in a row? How big around are they? I'm thinking I'll need to plant them about 20 feet apart and 15 feet away from the back of the trailer. That is if I get it of course. Does that sound about right? Are they as thick and lush as the look in the advertisement? Boy do I have a bunch of questions.
Here's what I would buy this year: trowel cultivator garden fork vegetable seeds rose bushes wire fencing for trellises garden hoe rake plant food compost(I can make my own) plastic sheeting for protection during frosts plastic mulch(black & red) poles for trellises plant labels soil pH testing kit grow lights
Wow, your lists put me to shame-I'm only a container gardener, but I love it. For me it's my art-each container carefully selected to the perfect plant-or vice versa, lol. BTW, whatever happened to Sorellina? I always enjoyed her posts about tomatoes.
Hmmm, since I have a blank canvas I basically need everything! I'm hopefully going to get some perennials, a rose or two, and lots of top soil. I could also do with some tools, thank god my birthday is in May. I've been asking for gift cards every year and I've saved the ones I got from Christmas...trying to stretch every penny...or card lol

Same here I only have 1.84 in my pocket right now,& 40 in the bank.I can't take out any money from the bank now;gotta save up until I get my first job.
Does anyone know of a hand trowel that's good quality? Each year I buy a new cheapo set from the Dollar General, the kind with 2 trowels and a hand rake thing.....well last year I went thru 4 of those trowels....They keep breaking and bending.
I reallllllllly want a solar fountain and they don't sell them in the stores around here,, I requested they order them They'd sell like hot cakes,, I don't get why they won't stock them

ooooooh - wish I could remember the set that Don bought me last year for Mother's Day - I posted it too! Let me see if I still have the picture in my PB... It's a really good and sturdy set.
Sorry loz - I don't seem to have the pic anymore, but I'll look at the name the next time I go into the garage.

Diane you should look online....whatever store you find one at go to google and google the stores name and then coupon codes. You can often get free shipping or a percentage off.....
Lynne, I almost vaguely remember that I think.... I hope you find the name on it....I really am desperate for a good sturdy one that doesn't need replaced ever 2 seconds.
