Hi.... grin

I'm looking thru my garden catalogs searching for a new red clematis. I saw the variety Ruutel in the Park seeds catalog. We want one that blooms all the way down the vine, cold hardy and disease resistant. shots

Should we buy one thru the mail or wait to buy one at our local nursery? why

Thanks for the help! bow

It is always better to get them local if you can find the color your want. I only order if I cannot find it locally.

I do not know a good red to suggest I look forward to see the suggestion you get.

I personally think buying the one from the catalog might be better because then they might have a garuntee on thier products that way if it dies or something happens then they could give u a new one (im not fully sure on their policy but it never hurts to check) wheras nurserys well at least i know the ones around here in florida don't give any kind of garuntee at all.... only if it dies within a few days of purchase i think....

I'd do local if possible, 'Niobe' is a deep red variety for zone 4. Some lighter reds will take on a purple tint at times.
