right now i am making a bird bath out of mirrored mosaics, and grout. i had an ugly plastic birdbath, and am an artist, so decided to make it pretty, but am being told that it will scare the birds now, is this true? i think it is turning out pretty, i also used crushed sea shells from the river in some places.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Honestly I don't know if it will or not,, I've seen many here in TX made that way for sale at nursery's and landscaping stores,, I can't imagine why they'd sell them if they scare the birds,,

i'd be surprised if it scared the birds. especially after they get used to it.

hope not, spent weeks making it! don't think it will look like any ive seen, that is why i added the shells and sea glass as well as the mosaics! i spend hours sitting by the window, waiting for the spring, and watching the birds, love to feed them too, can't wait for this cold weather to end!

I'm the Bird Man here and I'd say that your decoration won't bother the birds at all......unless you're a really BAD artist. Then they might run in terror or disgust, but other wise they won't mind it. I put a layer of marbles in the bottom of my birdbath.

It sounds gorgeous to this cuckoo
