I'm Tony In Mid-Georgia (zone 7b I think, I'm new at all of this) I'm getting ready to try a vegetable plot for the first time ever. The ground has been tilled, and I started some tomato seeds indoors. Other than that I'm flying by the seat of my pants, so any help would be welcome!
Believe me we're all flown by the seat of out pants and some of us still are with a wing and a prayer we get blooms,, I like experimenting with new plants, so I wing it alot!
You'll find we all help each other here and if we don't know we will help you figure it out!! ,, There is a place here called Banter Hall, when you get comfortable come on in Banter where we chat in the coffeehouse, and just talk about everyday things,, including gardening!!
I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of posting from you this spring, and We Love seeing pictures before and after,, we also learn alot visually as well,!!
Did you amend your soil when you tilled it?? With maybe compost or aged manure compost?? your plants will love you for it!!

I put some leaf compost in the plot, to loosen up some of that red georgia clay, but once it started breaking up I was surprised by how good the soil was.
If I have any success whatsoever, I'll be sure to post some pics, but if it all goes bad then you'll all probably never hear from me again, Lol!!
hi tony! i'm outside of savannah, where in mid ga are you? we are going to macon next weekend, doesn't get more mid ga than that welcome to the garden helper!!
I actually work in Macon, and live in Gray. I plan on visiting Savannah/Tybee with my family sometime this summer (My wife is intent on doing a ghost walk, I have no idea what she's talking about, but I'm game!)

you'll enjoy it, just wear comfortable shoes!!!
basically it is a tour of the squares/old houses that have "ghosts". i've not been on one, but i've been around LOTS of folks who have. when you come to town, let me know and we'll have lunch or something i like meeting members. there was a time when i had met the most
we are supposed to be in macon the next 2 weekends, not totally sure though.
Hi I am new and I am from Texas. I also like to experiment with different plants. I have a plant that the only name I have for it is Aldershot. I can't seem to find any information on this name. I have many books. I'm sure there is another name for it but I can't find it. Any ideas? I just move into a new home that we had built and I design a garden space for me. I am enjoying filling it up with plants in decorative pots.
