I was out last weekend and we got 12 rainbow trout in 1 hour between 4 of us and 2 where doing it for the first time. It was an ice fishing trip to Chain Lakes 75 miles south of Calgary. In the summer we fly fish the eastern slopes of the rocky mountains. A bad day fishing beats a good day working...

The infinitesimally small seed that produces the giant is the winner...
I'm not a big fisherwoman either , but I do go once in a while too. I love it, it's so relaxing---even if I don't catch a thing it's just nice to be outside in nature.
I do have my own pole and fishing stuff, when Mark first started taking me fishing years ago he made sure I had the proper stuff. I had never fished before I met him.
I haven't been able to catch a single rainbow trout; my dad & younger brother caught some. I caught two striped bass last year: a fifteen inch& a five inch.
When life gives you fish, make fish sticks.

LOL funny dodge! I haven't fished in a long while either. I hadn't been fishing since I had kids, and my kids were determined to go try it out, so we went. We caught some little lake fish, put them on a stringer, and our fish caught a snake. I have pictures: http://butterflies.heuristron.net/others/fishingSnake.html We gave up fishing the little lake and tried the ocean pier a few times, but never caught anything worthwhile there. Now that you've reminded me, I'm thinking that if the drought continues and they keep the water restrictions in place I'll have to swap gardening for fishing for a while...
