It hasn't had any flowers..The plant was sent to my friends grandmothers funeral and she desperately wants to keep it alive..it has not really grown at all and she has had it for about a year, and in my opinion it needs help, but I am not sure whether it needs more or less light and also I think it needs to be re-potted, as the soil is compacted and water just runs out without soaking in.

it could be a peice lily... Im sorry for her loss, but most of the time those are the plants used at funereals so try googling some pictures of the leaves... alot of lillys sometimes actually do better crowded together in pots... yea when i got my amazon lilly that water was the same i repotted it but i would hold off on that until we find out what kind of plant it is.

That's not a peace lily. My guess is some type of Ficus too but I am unsure.

I know that it is not a peace lilly as I have had several of them before. I'll google ficus and see if I find something that might be it.

Hi from Texas I took my pictures and before I could even post them I was walking through Home Depot with my husband to buy lawn mower I saw the plant with a sticker so I found out it is a Kalanchoe. Thanks anyway.
Before I had bought a Bougainveillea in a bright pink color and it died so I thought I'd try again so I bought a purple which all they had left.(I had a perfect place for them) Well they were dieing too and I didn't know what to do and was getting flustated and ready to give up on those and try planting something else. However I tried one more thing because I don't like to quit on my plants unless all is hopeless.I pruned them back big time and thought they were done for. WE had a cold night so I had covered them up and when I uncovered them two days later one of them had new grow. I am hoping I will see new grow on the other one soon too. Nature suprises you sometimes. NOw I have some confederate Jasmine I have to find some place for. We just built and moved into a stone home in September and I read up and it says that they will climb up any stone or brick wall so I will not have any problem putting them somewhere else if the Bougainveillea survive. Isn't planting fun. I have turned my new garden into a park like garden which is separat from my yard. The birds and butterflys are enjoying it along with myself out there reading on my stone bench or just enjoying the peace and quiet.
Have a great week. The weather here is turning so great. My granddaughter is coming this week to visit so I won't be on the computer much.
Happy planting to all gmom

not a Ficus elastica or a Spathiphyllum .

Looks like a Philodendron

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!

Wrong growth habit for Kalanchoe . They grow from a central rigid/succulent stem.

Your plant grows like my Philodendrons.

i'm thinking either philodendron emerald queen or something similar OR anthurium. would need a better pic to decide which.
